imitrex

1046692 tn?1255391835 Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.
Avatar f tn As long as I take it as soon as my headache starts. I had that same prescription before and it made me super tired and I think the Excedrin works better. I wouldn't fill it! Hope your migraines go away, they suck!
Avatar f tn Yeah try to take a nap in a dark quiet room with an ice pack on your fore head and eyes, and take tylenol to help also. It just might work then.
Avatar n tn pills. If I am wise and take one as soon as I feel one coming on, I can stop it with one half of the pill. Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to take the other half. That's just one way of stretching them. Also, I have my Dad buy them for me in Mexico where you don't need a prescription and they are about $50.00 for 9 pills. ig_me: I feel you with the Fiorinal.
1103688 tn?1257894552 ve had migraines for as long as I can remember, and have tried different types of treatments. I take 50 mg of Topomax daily as a prophylactic preventative, and it's greatly reduced the number of severe headaches I get, but I still have "normal" headaches almost daily, and if I don't take care of them they will usually turn into migraines. I have Midrin as a preventative, but don't like it because it doesn't always work. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.
Avatar f tn I noticed a difference in my life in every aspect and want to be the person I was before. I have faith in myself and I have done this completely on my own without anyone pushing me and I dont think anyone could have made me want to do this. You have to be willing to take the first step and I know I have done that so im hoping this si it. Any suggestions on how to get through any of these symptoms or make it a little easier?
Avatar n tn I have tried several different preventative medications including Inderal LA, which I no longer take. I now take Imitrex 100mg PRN- but have noticed a few changes in my symptoms. I have never experienced an aura-I usually get the pain on one side(usually my left) that generates to behind my left eye. The headaches pretty much incapacitate me- I am nauseated-feel dizzy-overall malaise. Imitrex and 3 excedrin usually helped.
306455 tn?1288862071 I take excedrin Migraine, #1 because I don't have health ins. #2, because I don't get them to often. Mostly in the summer. Definitely when the barometric presure goes down. This site is so great that it can warn you ahead of time. I know if I can take something before the migraine hits, I'm a lot better off. It's hard to get rid of if you take the meds after the fact.
Avatar m tn I hear Excedrin Migraine is good...I have migraines also, I'm going to pick some up for next time I have one.
Avatar f tn I have really bad migraines. I used to take Excedrin before I found out I was pregnant as it was practically the only medicine that works since I couldn't take ibuprofen because of my blood problems I had when I was a younger. However when I went to my obgyn and asked what else I could take stronger than Tylenol, she said nothing. Not while pregnant. Just Tylenol.
Avatar n tn Oh, I dont have any Vikki, I am just doing my research of prep for when they do come. Now reading these posts, I think I will pass. My mother uses excedrine migraine but she does not get them as bad. Triptan's or Imitrex sound like the best solution if or when they hit.
Avatar f tn Worked the past 3 days. Went well. The ups anddowns are tough but manageable. I have had very little cravings which is great. Emotionally uunstable. But it seems to get better each day. Main thing I am fighting now are these daily head aches. They get SO BAD. My blood pressure is not high. I take 800mg ibprofen and it doesn't even touch it. Any help or advice would be wonderful. Yay for 10 days clean. Proud of myself.
1508698 tn?1360215710 I too suffer from migraines, but a bit more frequently than you. The first med I tried was Imitrex, which made me very sick to my stomach. I couldn't keep it down. I tried Frova, which just didn't work. Then I tried Relpax, and that was the ticket. Keep in mind that all 3 are triptans, but that doesn't mean they are the same either. The Relpax I take makes me incredibly tired, but not sick to my stomach, and it takes care of the migraine within 30 mins.
444932 tn?1273980797 i have migranes, and only imitrex works on them...When it is just a bad headache i take excedrin migraine, like cathy, works great!!
Avatar m tn I can relate to your pain. I know what it feels like to not have your headaches under control. Poor sleep is definitely a trigger for me as well. How many OTC meds do you take? If you take a lot of ibuprofen, excedrin migraine, etc. you can have what they call medication overuse headaches. They can be worse than the headache that you started out with in the first place.
Avatar n tn I've had what the doctors call cluster migraines for about 15 years. I've been many times to the doctor, although when I was younger they said there was no pills for this type of thing. They will come often, mostly a constant pressure that will build up now and again for weeks or months at a time, with short reprieves for a month or two.
Avatar f tn When I have a migraine I am light and sound affected. Sometimes I feel sick to my stomach and I see spots. I also kept a migraine diary and that didn't really help. Any ideas of new pills or anything that could possible get past these migraines would be amazing! Thanks!
6323845 tn?1381188828 I am 7 weeks pregnant and normally take excedrine for my migraines but I looked it up and it can cause a miscarriage what is something safe I can take or just something natural that would help?
Avatar m tn I find that if I drink very strong coffee just as a migraine is coming on, I can abort it. Once it really takes hold it is too late for coffee. I also have identified certain triggers, one of which is having alcohol if I am overheated and feeling logy (such as on a hot summer day). Just staying in the hot sun without a hat can sometimes do it too.
Avatar f tn But my neurologist prescribed both 10 mg of Amitriptyline and Imitrex. So I think it should be fine. You can ask a pharmacist or your doctor to make sure. But I am on both of those plus Trokendi XR and Clonazepam.
Avatar f tn m sorry you can take Imitrex. For me it is a lifesaver. I also take Excedrin but found that you can get rebound headaches from them as well. I was taking too many of those and actually had to wean down from them. Can you imagine....weaning down from Excedrin? How pathetic, but I guess it's the addict in me. LOL. I did find that when I cut back on those the headaches were less. I do think that the caffeine will help you with the rebounds. Keep strong! God Bless you.
Avatar f tn Today 6/12/2015 I woke up with no headache and did not take any pills. By midday I started getting a slight headache and took two Excedrin. I have gone 24 hours with no Fioricet and hope to be able to make it for 2 more days to get the worse of it over with. Am drinking lots of water, pedialite and will take more excedrin if headache returns.
Avatar m tn I get migraines as well and although I do not take imitrex, I to take a triptan, which is what imitrex is. The triptan that I take is called zomig, and I take a nasal spray version. There are lots of triptans on the market and imitrex is one of the first, the generic name is called sumatriptan and it is what they will give you in the hospital, but by injecteion, if you ever go in for a migraine...
489786 tn?1255692879 ve taken many of the triptans and had good luck with all except Imitrex (got terrible rebound headaches!!!). Excedrin migraine, if I take it right away, works OK now that I take the topamax daily. I hope you get some relief soon.
Avatar f tn I did, I have migranes and was given pamalor, it worked really good for me, I stipped taking it and I am thinking I should go back on it again. I took it with imitrex. they worked fine for me. ' I have also taken wellbruten, but I don't remember why I stipped, I'm wondering if there is one med that will help with depression and weight loss and will not interfear with my sex drive? does anyone know?
518798 tn?1295212279 I have been eating advil and excedrin tension headache. I have been digging looking to see if I can find some imitrex here. I had a prescription years ago and I don't think I used them all, but that was "back in the day" and I don't really know what I have/had. With all the excitement of the weather here and my kids and husband all being shut up in this house for 2 days already, the noise and craziness has gotten to me.
