Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
Avatar f tn I posted this on one of my other discussions - so sorry if it seems repetitive. The pain hit as I was trying - yet again - to catch some sleep. I just couldn't lie comfortably. I finally gave in & took 2 paracetamol & 2 amitriptyline which my dr said would take the edge off the pain. It's codeine that I'm trying to quit - and I didn't take it - but I felt I needed something to numb the pain! Have I failed?
Avatar f tn s given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day. This should keep the pain to minimal whilst she looks over the last results. Other than that, no idea what is causing it, but as it has been 4.5 weeks, they want to get to the bottom of it.
Avatar n tn yup inteks - the codeine and lack of physical activity from the back injury - that poor lady may wanna step down from the Tylenol 3. My tummy hurt just from reading that case history...lol.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the best over the counter homonal migraine medicine? I cannot take immetrix I am allergic too it. I now will only take over the counter stuff. I am not sure wether ibuprofen is best or a combination of aspirin and tylenol together. What do you think?
Avatar f tn Hi, I've not got a diagnosis for my pain, however it is concurrent with symptoms for osteoarthritis. As I've been suffering with pain in my knees, hips, lower back and knuckles for 12 years now I'm not holding out on a diagnosis anytime soon, more so because I know how much the medical comminity seem to despise diagnosing osteoarthritis in anyone below 50, I'm 30 so another 20 years to go before acknowledgement of OA will be given!
599170 tn?1300973893 (it does really hurt - waaaaaaaay worse than childbirth - thats for sure) If you can take paracetamol and diclofenac regularly (depending on what your docs prescribe) and only take the opiods (eg codeine/morphine) when the pain is really bad - as they can be constipating and the last thing you want to be doing with a sore bum is straining to pass a hard bowel movement.
653169 tn?1303446369 I take Diclofenac XR now and have had trouble with other prescription NSAIDs upsetting my stomach. For me, this one seems to be the best out of all I've tried and it's the most effective for my inflammation. I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.
Avatar f tn I am on long term usage of Mobic and it works great for me .. it does take time to build up and likewise, when I try to stop it takes days for the pain to come back but when it does, I am in bad bad pain (a flare) ... I recently tried the new Diclofenic patches which did 0% for me and I went back to oral meds instead. I have a severe tibial tendonitis/arthritis issue in my ankle area with no cure at this time.
Avatar m tn Hello. My father has a surgery appointment for 6 hours later. This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? So, if his surgeon say that it will be ok, can we trust him? I'm freaking out. Please tell me what should I do. Thanks a lot.
Avatar f tn I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.
Avatar f tn The thing is now it does not really help for the pain anymore and I cant go without it. I also want to know if I can go detox from it at home?? I have a lot of physical side effects from taking it every day for so long. Will I be able to tolerate the pain withdrawal symptoms and what can you advise for me to take in its place that is safe. I am allergic to diclofenac (Panamor) so no help there. Did you take any pain meds in the detox time?
Avatar n tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp and our forums. This is an excellent question to ask your doctor. I would not add anything to your current regime if you have not received approval from your doctor. And please remember, that if you see multiple doctors, you should let them know all medications you take including anything over the counter such as aspirin. Here is information regarding diclofenac gel. https://www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid.
554628 tn?1362777919 I am not sure if you can take this but a pharmacist at any place (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid...whatever you have near you) would be able to tell you...Ask if you can take/use Anbesol....it is an oral gel that you put in your mouth for toothaches and it has a novacaine like numbing...Like I said, I don't know if you can take it, but you can call and ask, they'll know. Feel better!
Avatar n tn So many questions... It wasn't prescribed to me, and that person is gone now. But the whole development of events forced me into extensively reading on how stuff works, and it was then that I said farewell to human-made drugs. Nowadays I go to the doctor just to get the blood test done once or twice a year... So, diclofenac blocks the proper functiong of the COX enzyme in our body. That's all it does. It doesn't cure anything, it doesn't repair anything...
Avatar f tn I have been occasionally constipated - I mainly thought due to the codeine/diclofenac in take. Currently got mild laxatives to take to ensure bowels empty OK. I noticed that the week I first got the pain I was due for my period. I currently have the Mirena Coil (Since June 2013). Previously I was on the implant (no periods at all for 3 years). When I had Mirena inserted, July, Aug, Sept 4 day periods on time.
Avatar f tn ve been prescribed for external use on my osteoarthritis of the thumbs. I also have cirrhosis and I did some research on the drug. My hepatologist did give me the okay to use it, but after reading this FDA warning on possible liver damage from the drug (http://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch/safetyinformation/safetyalertsforhumanmedicalproducts/ucm193047.htm) I've been exceedingly cautious and sparing in its use.
Avatar m tn Do not take pain killers continuously and always take them intermittently. You can apply ice packs and also massage diclofenac gel on the area of pain and you can also consider some diclofenac sprays for pain relief. As you are seeing an orthopedician and going perfectly the right way, follow that properly and have patience and do your physical therapy properly and regularly. Do not exert your affected shoulder with physical activity or by lifting of heavy weights. Take care!
Avatar m tn The injury did substantial damage to my trigeminal nerve and I was given 240mg codeine a day to take fro about 4 weeks if i remember correctly. My codeine habut eventally grew into an1800mg/day habit but realistically, I didn't need the pills from probably a few days after the surgery. After that, it was all about recreational use. Now that I am clean, I feel the nerve damage and am more aware of the plates but they are at most uncomfortable, not really painful.
Avatar m tn I myself have had a headache for almost a week now, I do not know why as I never have headaches, and I take some strong medications for lots of problems with my back, and while they help that, they do nothing for my headache. I am at my wits end. So, those she takes drugs ain't gonna help her. I am glad you are a good husband and trying to get to the bottom of this. Hope this helps you some.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Avatar m tn Well my original dose was 225mg (effexor), I tapered off myself with the use of codeine to about 10mg, then stopped the codeine and the WD effects came in, not sure from which drug..The depression was getting to me so I'm back to 175mg of effexor. I don't think it's too many, I'm feeling fine, no more depression but also no more tablets..I'm really scared of crashing.
