i also quit xanax the same time i stopped the cymbalta, i was on the xanax for about 8 years.... needless to say it was hell, and now my hybercondria and agorophobia along with panic is coming back, but i like the fact my blood pressure is low now..... anyway is this a normal occurence or should i be worried??

I got off of the cymbalta because I dumbly told myself I was fine and no longer needed it. Then boom... everything and more came and hit me like a train. After reading that, I definitely have symptoms of agoraphobia. Not good.

It is your body and only YOU can determine what is right or not and sometimes that takes time and it can also take some trial and error. Being patient with anxiety is difficult. We all want a quick fix and for the most part, there just isn't one. So, have that talk with your doctor, get all your concerns on the table and ask lots of questions. I went to a pain management clinic for over 15 years but I cannot find a new clinic that will accept me because I take Xanax AND I CANNOT COME OFF THEM I have tried several times. My psychiatrist has even written a letter to some clinics stating I cannot come off of the Xanax but they still refuse to take me and want to put me on Suboxone and I do not know what to do. I CANNOT TAKE THE PAIN ANYMORE.

It has not and I am back to taking pain meds 60mg morphine daily and 60 mg oxycodone. I have been so depressed and now I am taking 180mg of cymbalta and now xanax. I am more depressed and lost than I have ever been in my life. I can't do anything, I have no energy to do anything. I don't eat much anymore. I have been prescribed for alprazolarm .5 my daily for the last 1 and half years .Now I have severe nerve pain (feel like itching) in my leg,arms and ears .The pain get worsen some times and I feel depressed and lethargy.I have discussed this with my Pdoc and he confirmed that alprazolarm doesn't cause dipression or pain and he gave me lithuim (300mg)and mirtazapine(15mg) for daily use .But I still have depression and pain .

My anxiety is so out of control and the cymbalta seems to be making it worse,It consumes me i can think of hardly anything except how i feel, And i am scared its a mild reaction to the cymbalta and if i keep taking it i will get worse and all tday i have had a pain behind my left be]reast into my shoulder and arm.I havve had this before i know and its never been my heart but im scared.And im tapering off my xanax by using klonopin per my dr and today is suppose to be my last day of xanax.

Hello, again, msanxiety............... You will NOT die taking the Cybalta and Xanax together. You do, however, need to get both your doctor and your therapist on the same page as far as your meds go. Is your doctor aware your therapist, (who does NOT have a license to practice medicine) know he told you to start taking an old prescription of Cymbalta? If not, he needs to know that NOW. Get with your doctor, again, and discuss your meds.

My biggest issue with the Xanax is relying on it for sleep. Ideally I would like to get off Xanax and Cymbalta. I'v heard some good things about cognitive behavior therapy. Thanks for your advice!

Don't take abilify with Cymbalta! I take Cymbalta and then I was also put on abilify shortly before my family and I went on vacation to Disneyworld and it was the worst time I ever had! I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin! I was so agitated and could not sleep. I would pace at night! I did get off abilify when I got back and am just on Cymbalta now and am better but I am experiencing things like headaches and heart palpitations so may be getting off Cymbalta, too.

I have dabled in perscription drugs for some time, I have also been with my boyfriend for a year, and in the first couple months of us being together, he got off of subs. Then I found a doctor, which started perscribing me vics, xanax, clazpams. we would take them then not use for a while. Well, recently I started to take cymbalta. Then we went to the doc and he gave me more scripts for vics, and xanny's . I went through them and now I am out and hate the way I feel.

He is slurring words, falling over, and just out of it. I didn;t think the cymbalta would have that effect immediately since it should take awhile to enter into his system., I was on 60 mg of cymbalta, as well with xanax and although it made me tired I was not in the shape he is in. What do you think could be the problem? Is it too high of a dose to begin with? Is he taking too many miligrams of valium? I believe he takes 10mg pills. The first day he took 3 valiums with the cymbalta.

I dont like the cymbalta so far and i thought the klonopin was suppose to help with my tapering off xanax,i was suppose to stop xanax 2 days ago and so far i havent because im scared of withdrawals......i have no energy,called dr he said stay on xanax for a few more days and then try it again.............

It is very difficult to wean off and has left some with permanent side effects. Good luck. I took vicodin with cymbalta and now I only take vicodin. It took me months of agony to get off Cymbalta. Please do the research.

Hi, I did try Cymbalta, once, and suffered a severe allergic reaction, and really thought I would die, and so did they!! I took lexapro, and that made me really have strange thoughts, so zoloft, seems to work the best so far. I am just tired to the whole thing!!

so can i take 20 mg of paxil er day and 60 mg of cymbalta and i also have diabeties so the cymbalta helps the place od lyrica because i cant afford lyrica so can i stay on both im very very very depressed

ldk i take xanax and im 30 weeks along with my 4th child my shrink told me that xanax kicks the anxiety and wears off as well as my ob.

The Paramedics were called cause i felt like i was on fire and i could not stop tingling so bad. I did take a xanax and i think thats what set me off but the doctors okayed me? Has anyone got anything they can tell me about their experinces with Cymbalta?????

i used to be on prozac 60mg (up to 100mg) for about 8-10 years and switched to cymbalta which helps with depression, anxiety, and pain. you may try that. don't over take your xanax because you're right, it is addictive. don't take anymore than you're prescribed before talking to your psychiatrist, which i suggest you call today or tomorrow to make an appointment.

I don't know that taking clonazepam and xanax is safe, as they are both benzos and target the same thing, GABA. And they aren't used for depression, they are used for anxiety -- an anti-anxiety drug, which is usually sedating, can actually increase anxiety, although the Cymbalta would possibly prevent that. I'd ask about taking two benzos at the same time on a regular basis. But as to the valium for surgery, I had that when I was on clonazepam.

I keep getting these shocks that start at the back of my head and shoot forward...Usually right before I fall asleep and it can happen 2-3 times. It usually starts soft and then gets really bad. Can you tell me what this might be?

Been on meds for years. Without Dr. A few months sop family Dr gave me Geodon,cymbalta and Xanax till I got new Dr. New Dr put me In hospital for 3 days and took away Xanax and added vistaril 25mg 3 times day,neurontin 300mg @ bedtime,trazodone 100mg @ bedtime and up dose to 90mg cymbalta. Getting worse so saw Dr. and up dose on trazodone and vistaril. Still not better up dose on Geodon. Still worse with bad panic attacks,tardive dyskinesia, anger and rage, hot as fire most time.

I made a typo in my original post. I AM currently taking Cymbalta and Xanax for the ancy legs and arms. If anyone has any ideas please share them. This isnt just at night but it goes on all day. You don't state, specifically, how long you've been on the duloxetine, (Cymbalta). But it can take anywhere from one to four weeks, sometimes longer, for this med to reach therapeutic levels and for you to begin to notice some improvement. If it hasn't been this long, give it some more time, but I'd not let it go much over 6 weeks before getting back with my doctor. Finding the right antidepressant can be a real trial and error ordeal, but stick with it.
