can i take allegra with benadryl

Does anyone know allergy medicine that is safe to take?

Yes ive taken it bc I have allergies and I am not able to take my allegra or singular during pregnancy and my dr says benadryl only safe med to take...

My sinus mucus swelled up so bad i could hardly breath and my face turned bright red. I did not take it again after that. I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. i am not pregnant, but i have horrible allergys as well. i asked the pharmacist what i could take if i was pregnant ( i take it everyday so for the tww i wanted to know) anyways he showed me in the pharmacy book that benedryl is ok, i was skeptical but he showed it to me so i read it and believe it. hope this helps!

Anyone know if benadryl is safe to take? My allergies are crazy right now and the zyrtec alone isn't enough. Normally I would take a benadryl to help but I never asked if that was ok during pregnancy.

My midwife said to watch out for meds with a d in the name (ie allegra d, claritan d, etc) but that most without the d are okay to use on occasion.

In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.

I use Benadryl (non drowsy) almost every day but when my allergies are out of control I use Zyrtec. If I have congestion, I use Sudaffed.

I would talk to your doctor or midwife before taking anything. But the doctor gave me a list of oks to take while sick/allergies/constipation/nauseous and everything else and it says you can take A. Benadryl B. Claritin C. Zyrtec D. Allegra But like I said. Ask your doctor before taking anything.

Three days ago I started itching again and my feet and hands swelled and itched terrible so I started with Allegra Allergy.Bad joint pain yesterday and today. Before I took a nap, I took a tramadol. Woke up 2 hours later feeling like my body was being poked by pins,it was hot and terribly itchy on my back, leg and head and I was wheezing. Used my inhaler took Benadryl and Allegra and used the hydrocortisone 1% cream all over. Bingo, I must be allergic to the tramadol. I am stopping it today!!!

A lot of OTC allergy meds are okay, but you should definitely double-check with your doc. I take Benadryl at night, Allegra during the day, and allergy eyedrops...walking around with red eyes these days, my allergies have definitely kicked in.

I have allergies to bee stings and last week I got stung by one. First time I years! I made a paste with baking soda and water and let the dry up on the sting, tool benadryl immediately after it happened. The stinger was still in so we took it out before we did anything. The nurse said it's okay ands long as your reaction isn't super super terrible and send you into anaphylaxis shock or get infected. To take benadryl as needed or til your symptoms go away. take benadryl every year starting in january through to september with respite in winter. do not have the classic symptoms of hay fever ie runny nose etc but if i don't self medicate on a regular basis panic attacks occur. i am only relatively symptom free if iam indoors except when i sit in the conservatory i start to itch and sneeze.

That doesn't do anything to me ;/ I was on high dose with allegra, zyrtec, atarax, and a few others and the sprays before pregnant. Over the counter med doesn't help but thank god today got better after the bloody nose.

Knowing that Flu like symptoms were a side effect, I did get a Flu shot in August, prior to tx. Today, right now, I really feel like I am fighting off a cold or Flu. Can I take something like Nyquil but without alcohol??? Thanks. Just took the day off sick yesterday, and don't want to be out tomorrow.
