I would be careful taking Advil PM as it has an antihistamine in it and might make RLS worse. I mistakenly took Nyquil with an antihistamine in it and had the shakes real bad. So be cautious..

I agree with Pooh, take Tylenol. I think most hepatologists recommend it for liver patients, up to 2000 mg per day. NSAIDs (including Advil, Motrin, aspirin, pretty much every OTC pain-killer other than Tylenol) are contraindicated if you have liver disease.

Knowing that Flu like symptoms were a side effect, I did get a Flu shot in August, prior to tx. Today, right now, I really feel like I am fighting off a cold or Flu. Can I take something like Nyquil but without alcohol??? Thanks. Just took the day off sick yesterday, and don't want to be out tomorrow.

so with the doxy and the 3 advil, i would not want to take anything else. it is a weird/awkward procedure but it is not much worse than having a longer than usual exam/pap smear. you'll feel better if you are coherent and can understand what they are doing. they explain along the way and tell you what looks good/is normal as they go.

U can also take advil up to 28weeks....

shell, I have to take the Rebif mornings or it interferes with my sleep. I also have to take the oxycodone/acetaminophen in the morning or I can't move. ess. I am thinking along the same line...that the acetaminophen is enough. I was fine yesterday. And yes, the less medication the happier I am!! Just hoping it doesn't backfire on me.. As some of you know I suffer from severe health anxiety...I started going through a particularly bad time last fall...I am constantly afraid of headaches,fevers,muscle aches etc..as a result of this I started taking advil constantly and I am up to about 10 to 12 liquigels a day..If I don't take them my anxiety goes through the roof and I start to imagine headaches,pain etc...this can't be good for me..and I don't know how to stop...

Danie i agree with you!! I don't like Tylenol. It doesn't work for me at all. Advil does the job.

I usually take Cipro and Bactrim. I have only been given Flagyl for BV. I might double check with your doctor. Also, was the Flagyl oral or via the vaginal gel? I believe that the oral is contraindicated in pregnancy.

advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma

Anyone taken Flagyl? I have BV but my doc says it can make ppl really nauseous even taken with food. I'm not ready to take it as I've been feeling so sick already. Anyone take it and felt fine?

I just dont wanna mess up and not know it! I get drug tested everyweek so I dont wanna take something I shouldnt. I also started taking wellbutrin, i noticed after around day 45 i was over the "clean and sober bliss" and started to feel down and didnt wanna get in bed, ate soo much. I haven't gotten it but I have seen many people with who have. It can be very difficult to treat and can persist or relapse.

I had a root canal the day before yesterday and that day everything was fine. I went to work the following day and everything was fine, I was taking advil for the pain. then that night all of the sudden something didn't feel right and when i looked in the mirror that side of my jaw and down to my neck was swollen and it felt like there was a ball in there. Now I look like a freak. i took some amoxicillan that I had but it doesn't seem to be working.

I can only hope that it works with whatever is going on with me (just got the tests back and said I was Lyme Neg...hmmm) Flagyl is an old antibiotic treatment that hasn't been used much recently. Therefore most infections are not immune to it. It can be harsh on some ppl. If you eat something before you take the medication the side effects are almost nil.

I often post and then have a stray thought or three ... it's the Lyme. :) re Flagyl: I was afraid of taking it because I had taken it *years* ago after picking up some really nasty bug in India -- as my LLMD pointed out, however, the feeling awful probably had more to do with the bug than with the meds. In any event, the side effects (stomach cramps, as I recall) were not so bad that I stopped taking the meds (soft diet helped).

I had to go to the ER a few days ago and found out from the on call ob that I had a yeast infection and he prescribed me flagyl. It's the oral tablet not the cream. It tastes awful and ive been getting nauseous almost immediately after I take it. It's so bad tonight I can't get to sleep.

Flagyl is probably fine, but I caution you to think the doctor wont give you something you shouldnt have. I used to think that too until my OB tried to give me a medication for a rare condition that was clearly not intended to be taken while pregnant, It actually states online not to get pregnant for a few months after taking this medication.

When I run out before my next script, I have bad withdrawels. I wish I could take something stronger but I am afraid to ask my Dr. These drugs control your whole life. and I want to stop. Nothing helps, advil, aleve are like candy and do nothing for my pain. Am I alone?
