Common Questions and Answers about Can i take advil with doxycycline

1116530 tn?1324916747 so with the doxy and the 3 advil, i would not want to take anything else. it is a weird/awkward procedure but it is not much worse than having a longer than usual exam/pap smear. you'll feel better if you are coherent and can understand what they are doing. they explain along the way and tell you what looks good/is normal as they go.
Avatar f tn For this you need to take probiotics to replace this bacteria. You can get some good organic yogurt and take it with your meals. Keep a food diary and note down what aggravates your symptoms and avoid them. Ensure to maintain optimum weight by regular exercise. Avoid NSAIDs, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol, avoid caffeinated beverages and reduce stress levels. OTC antacids can further aid in reducing acid levels. These measures need to be practiced long term for results. Take care. Regards.
Avatar m tn My initial exam was the DRE with an enlarged prostate with warm feeling to touch along with tenderness. I was given 7-week treatment of Bactrim DS. I got sicker so went to the ER. My meds was changed to 3-week course of Doxycycline. Felt better towards end of third week. Things got bad again about a week later. Went back to regular doctor for another DRE & the NP thinks the infection(prostatitis, but what kind please?) wasn't fully gone.
Avatar f tn The American diet is also said to be low in Mg, so when the Lyme bacteria are using it up too, it's easy to get low. I still take Mg every day, even though I've been done with Lyme for several years. I take about 400 mg of Mg per day (half in the morning, half in the evening), and that's about 100% of the minimum daily requirement. If I still had Lyme, I might try taking more, but if you get diarrhea, then back off on the dose, so I read.
Avatar m tn ALL NEGATIVE RESULTS I have taken, Tobramycin, Cipro, Bacclofen, Levaquin, Doxycycline, Flomax, Uroxatrol and Terazosin(this really helps with the weak urine stream) and take lots of Advil. NOTHING HAS SHOW RESULTS EXCEPT FOR Terazosin. My Doctor says to have lots of sex but that makes the prostate aera hurt more!! I still have pain in my prostate aera! Has anybody in this fourm found any results they can share with me?
Avatar m tn and uncomfortable feeling in my urethra and sometimes pain at the tip, usually after I urinate... So I don't know what it is. Hopefully you can respond because I've got a few days before my doctors appointment to think about this....
4939681 tn?1361302899 I recommend the NeilMed sinus rinse. But you can only use it when both nasal passages are at least partially open. I once gave myself a sinus infection by using sudafed for a couple weeks to reduce allergy swelling. My GP said she hates sudafed and told me not to use it. (I still do on rare occasion when I can't breathe through my nose at all.) She said it dries up the sinuses, and extended use makes them irritated and susceptible to infection.
Avatar f tn I am confused because I have also read that mycoplasma infections are treated with antibiotics. I am currently being treated with doxycycline, but concerned about it making my situation worse. Do you believe treatment with antibiotics like doxycycline are safe and effective for all autoimmune diseases - in particular Fibromyalgia and Lupus? Are pencillins contraindicated? Which is better? PROF.
Avatar n tn Sorry that you are dealing with this too, I totally know the "off-balance" feeling. When I first got this around new years, it appeared to be a cold with an ear ache feeling. I had dizziness and jitteriness spells to go along with this. I first was told to take Sudafed, and then told to take Mucinex-D. After having bad experiences with those, my doctor gave me Allegra-D.
Avatar m tn I can never look directly at the spot as I can do with my big floater in the other eye. This spot is fixed in the same position, and it's not exactly central. It seems to show up mostly when my eyes are moving and the light/background conditions are changing. Once my eyes are steady and fixed on something, the spot disappears. But if I, say, look up from the computer screen, and then back down at it....the spot appears again.
Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone else was experiencing same symptoms. I am going insane trying to deal with this!
1550149 tn?1340004330 Please see comments regarding diet in the response to CJ. Q. I have psoriatic arthritis (but no psoriasis). I take 200 milligrams of Celebrex every day, which works quite well for me, and I also take over the counter Claritin for my dust allergy. I’ve noticed that if I run out of Claritin (while continuing the Celebrex), my arthritis will flare after a few days. Seems to me that there is a clear connection between allergies and arthritis.
Avatar f tn I'm taking doxycycline to help with my acne and I also know that birth control can help too. If I take these at the same time will it be dangerous?
Avatar m tn They now told me that there isn't any medicine they could give me that would help and that the pain isn't an std anymore but is possibly something inflamed or a hurt nerve and that I should take advil and soak my testicles in warm water to try to help it and that it may never go away. Is this a believeable answer or should I be looking at going to a different doctor? What could it be?
Avatar n tn I'm taking antibiotics, the doctor has done alot of tests but nothing has turned out yet. doctor said that it could be prostatitis so i'm taking doxycycline , though I have mild pain in prostate but do not have any other symptom... the fatigue and weakness has made me miserable??? if anyone has known of or experienced something like this please let me know. Lot of blood tests, urine test, Ct scan already done.Any other test that I should go for? Thanks.
Avatar f tn You could still have some inflammation left, so give it a few more days, take some advil if you can take it safely, and go from there. If you are concerned about stds, give it a few more weeks, and go to an std clinic and test. I see that you are in Maine - there are STD clinics in Portland, Lewiston and Bangor. There are also Planned Parenthoods all over Southern Maine. (Can you tell I'm from there, too?
Avatar m tn I was instructed to wear a jock-strap and take advil. 2nd vist - Pain had not subsided. I was given Doxycycline for 10 days + Mobic assuming Chlamydia. 3rd visit - Z-Pak and scrotal ultrasound. Ultrasound said I had a thickening in the tail of the right epididymis indicating the onset of epididymitis. 4th visit – Another Z-Pak. 5th visit - Pain has now also developed permanently in my lower right groin.
Avatar m tn yeah i guess...but ive still got this pain and discharge...which usualy points to SOME sort of infection...still leaning toward a prostate issue. we will see.
Avatar n tn I went to family doctor he told me it was viral and told me to take 2 advil 3x a day. I did, then after about two weeks of this I went to urgent care to get another opinion. The doctor thought it might be lyme disease or autoimmune. She prescribed me doxycycline for lyme disease and told me to go back to family doctor and get more tests done for autoimmune.
Avatar m tn I feel much better after 7 days on meds, still have a very slight discomfort on the tip of my penis, all but gone. Can I resume contact with my partner. If it was NGU, is this passable? I am almost through this, and did I learn my lesson, I am a changed man. Please advise, and thanks again.
Avatar m tn Apart from feeling super guilty, I'm a man I can live with it, what are my chances of getting away with this without my partner ever needing to know as it would be over between us if it ever came out. Please let me know ASAP..

Avatar m tn This did nothing and now he wants to go in with a scope and inspect the urethra as well as the bladder to see what is going on in there. So far I have been treated with doxycycline, cypro, amoxcycline, bacterium ds, and UTI meds and nothing has worked. My urologist insists that he does not think it is an STD that is linked to that sexual encounter but I find it strange that this all started days after the encounter.
Avatar f tn It is the dog equivalent of ibuprofen, the active ingredient in the popular human NSAID Advil. As with any NSAID, certain individuals do not react well to these drugs and with Rimadyl, there were enough problems reported after its introduction that a few years ago the FDA made Pfizer, the company who makes it, re-label their product to include an advisory that this drug could cause death.
Avatar f tn Hello, About 2 months ago on July 8th, I started experiencing a fullness feeling in my head and my pupils became dilated, I have been experiencing these symptoms more or less consistently for the past 7 weeks. I think I recall (but I am not sure) I heard a pop in my head while eating dinner that night and then the symptoms followed after that. I have also had a lot of fatigue, changes in mood and started becoming depressed.
Avatar m tn I have had lower back pain for several years and it originates from my feet, but it seems to be more apparent now with the testicular pain, the doctor told me to take it easy so I don't know if working on my lower back muscles would be smart (I have this exercise where I lie flat on my stomach and raise my feet and it strengthens the back muscles, it doesn't seem like it's too much work though so I might do it a bit).
Avatar m tn I have had this on and off for four years now and its starting to take over my life.Even with the amount of tabs they have dished out to me I still seem to get NSU every now and again. It ruined my last relationship and I dont want it too happen again.
Avatar n tn I consider them a reputable source - so should your rheumy. I was treated for lyme with doxycycline and it seemed to put it to bed for a couple years. Recent studies have shown that minocin early in a rheumatic disease ( 3 months of treatment) can dramtically effect the results downstream. With a 60% probability that it will go away, the minocin just might be the boost you need to make it go away. There were significantly more remissions in the minocin treated group.
Avatar n tn I had something show up in my bloodwork here recently and it revealed I have Hypothyroidism and low B12; I get a B12 injection monthly and I take Synthroid for the thyroid... I've been tested for Lupus, Lyme Disease, Celiac and those came back negative but will have the tests repeated in the future.. I was just told it may be Fibromylagia and am taking Lyrica and have been on it for about 2-3 months...
