2202729 tn?1377551205 I agree with Pooh, take Tylenol. I think most hepatologists recommend it for liver patients, up to 2000 mg per day. NSAIDs (including Advil, Motrin, aspirin, pretty much every OTC pain-killer other than Tylenol) are contraindicated if you have liver disease.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar f tn I would be careful taking Advil PM as it has an antihistamine in it and might make RLS worse. I mistakenly took Nyquil with an antihistamine in it and had the shakes real bad. So be cautious..
5986700 tn?1380791380 to get that clearance!! Of course, after I got off the Celebrex....I was just dandy cardio-wise. It was my personal reaction to the drug. Plus it was going to cost me a FORTUNE $$$...
Avatar f tn Hi when I was on Peg,Incivek, Riba I called my doctor to tell them I was in pain, knowing I had cirrhosis, he advised me to take Advil. I very sparingly used it.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
Avatar f tn Advil is ibuprofen which is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDS) and these have been linked to increased fluid load which can cause an increase in blood pressure. I would imagine the fluid load increase could also cause additional edema in your ankles, but that's just my opinion, I'm not a Doctor. I have a prescription for Celebrex for my knees due to OA and I am hesitant to take it for that reason.
6708370 tn?1471490210 In addition to the way Hep C makes me feel, I have arthritis in my foot joints - something that was completely manageable with Advil but now that I am Advil free, looking for something that works but won't make me feel lousy
7510956 tn?1411671417 Hi Fred , I also can not take NSAIDs. Tylenol is prescribed for me .however I only take it when absolutely needed . It might be silly but I always. Feel like I am taking two steps backward s . I try every thing else first .
Avatar f tn meanwhile read the thomas recipe, you will find some natural advices that can relieve your symptoms a little bit,.... take into account if you can take them with your medical issues. Most of them are stuff like keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, hot baths with epsom salts to relieve your muscle pains, mineral supplements like magnesium and potassium to help with muscle cramps and pains, immodium for diahrrea, advil, Hylands restful legs for reslessness legs syndrom and so.
Avatar m tn Since gastric bypass surgery I have to be careful and can only take anti-imflammatory twice a week. Have been taking Celebrex since it came out on the market...worked great for me....but now too high co-pay so I am trying Mobic (generic). It seems to be doing ok...been taking for over a week now. My sister & mother say it works really good them. Ask your doc to let you try it..not sure if they provide samples...but wouldn't hurt to ask.
453731 tn?1225199508 You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
Avatar m tn I have never had afib but have pacs and when they hit they last for 8-10 hours at time every 4-8 heart beat, not fun.
Avatar f tn This isn't really a question, but I wanted to thank you guys for writing back. I'm hoping to hear from more of you. I am taking your suggestions and getting some Biofreeze, which I researched on Amazon.com, and a lot people say that it really helps. Some say that "Sombra" also helps - even more than Biofreeze. So I ordered some of both. I'll let you know how that turns out. Do any of you take prescription drugs for pain?
Avatar f tn but these side effect have developed not just an effect but a whole other health issue witth added meds such as zantac, blood work every 6weeks to 2 months and i forgot another side effect was anemia fromt he celebrex...........
Avatar f tn It is my opinion that each of us have to research the medications we take and make our own decisions based on that research and our comfort levels. Personally I would not take Celebrex long term but I take acetaminophen (tylenol) long term which can be just as risky. So it's an individual decision. Does it significantly help your pain? If it does that would certainly be a large part of my decision process. I hope my input has been a bit helpful for you.
Avatar n tn ve been on oxycodone for 3 days now, and today i went to my health doctor and he gave me a cortisone shot in my hip, and 6 pills of celebrex and told me to take them with the oxicodone at night for 6 nights. my question is , how long does it take for the injection to do the job needed, 1 day 2 days??????? pls i need a answer i am realy going crazy from pain.
287246 tn?1318570063 I think I fall into that category, honestly, but if there is even the slightest of chances, I am afraid to take the medication. I think I will put in a call to my OB and ask, but I thought I would ask you ladies as well.
Avatar m tn I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach. My doctor gave me the meloxicam by mistake, he done it again the other day but luckily i spotted it and he apologised and changed them to etoricoxib. Please be careful when you are given pain relievers and anti flams. Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..
1711722 tn?1356487554 Knowing that Flu like symptoms were a side effect, I did get a Flu shot in August, prior to tx. Today, right now, I really feel like I am fighting off a cold or Flu. Can I take something like Nyquil but without alcohol??? Thanks. Just took the day off sick yesterday, and don't want to be out tomorrow.
1116530 tn?1324913147 so with the doxy and the 3 advil, i would not want to take anything else. it is a weird/awkward procedure but it is not much worse than having a longer than usual exam/pap smear. you'll feel better if you are coherent and can understand what they are doing. they explain along the way and tell you what looks good/is normal as they go.
