Hello. Been a long time since posted last here. Was going through a really rough patch last spring. Had a good summer. That time of year where its getting cold and dark. That dark cloud is trying to make its way back in my life.
Been taking Wellbutrin for 5 or 6 months with some limited success. I dont take it consistently though--I'm terrible about that as I just dont want to accept I may need to take antidepressants--gotta do things my way. Anyone else feel the same way.
ve experienced a major depressive episode. Anyway, I HAVE tried Abilify with Effexor XR. I had to stop taking it because it gave me restless leg syndrome. I couldn't sit still. It may not affect you that way, but that's what it did to me. That was the only negative side effect. I wasn't on it long enough to know if it was beneficial emotionally/psychologically, but I "sensed" that it might have been if I had been able to stay on it.
t feel like the effexor is doing anything, still feeling really down. Thinking of switching to Wellbutrin, has anyone had a good experience with it? I know the withdrawals from the effexor will be really hard, but i have got to find something that will work!
It sounds like you have an anxiety disorder as well. I do as well. I take 1mg of zanax twice a day or prn. Also, i have had narcolepsy for over 5 years. Thats a real pain to deal with! i take alot of stimulants and brain transmitting meds for that as well. it sounds like u might need to have a sleep study done by a specialist.I wish you the best.
I am was taking 30mg of adderall twice a day with 300mg of wellbutrin this seemed to be a good combo for my depression and add. I have recently been put on librium and propanolol for anxiety, thats all good. What I Am really.worried about is the 10mg of abilify they put.me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

My doctor added Buspar last month and I had to come off as I became suicidal and extremely manic.
He added Abilify to my Wellbutrin today for my irritability and moods. It is just 2.5mg for now. I have avoided meds for years for the fear of weight gain. I know for a fact many people say Abilify makes them gain extreme amounts of weight.
I also now take it with 100mg of Seroquel at night and I feel better than I have in years. I also take lasix because Abilify caused me to retain water but the lasix does the job and I'm still loosing some weight I was trying to get off anyway. If you do notice weight gain, actual pounds, not feeling bigger, talk to your doc about a diuretic and see if that helps but a highly doubt you'll gain on Abilfy. The data I read supports it.

I started the sweats from Wellbutrin and was put on Abilify later, so I do not know if it causes it too. All I know is I had to go get a powder puff and some powder and use it twice a day now! LOL.... good luck!!
As I mentioned in another post, I don't find that there is much of a correlation between the number of medications that are necessary to achieve good functioning and how well a person does on those medications. In other words, being on four pills is not a "bad" thing if four pills are what it takes to feel well.

I have tried so many diffrent meds and none seem to work however they all have the side effects I cannot stand, I took lithium and it made me super sick I lost 9 pounds in 4 days. with depokote all I did was sleep and feel like a dead head I am trying tegretol now and I am so bitchy seriously every one hates me even me. Even as I am being grouchy I feel like I should shut up but I cant and my muscles are so sore. Any one on a med that they love and would like to recomend?
I have bipolar disorder as well and am on abilify. I take it with remeron at night. It works great and has few side effects! However, Lexapro is dangerous for people who have bi polar disorder. It can have the tendancy to make you manic. While I was on Lexapro, I was wired and agitated all the time. So try a different anti depressant. Remeron is great esp for sleep. But, I've also heard Wellbutrin is great...and doesn't make you gain weight...so give that a try. Good luck to you.
once I came off the Abilify I was on the wellbutrin I was intensely anxious. I ended up stopping the Wellbutrin as well. A tip: if you plan on taking xanax long term you might want to consider Klonapin instead. Xanax is highly addictive and is not recommended for long-term use while Klonapin (which is very similar and in my opinion works just as well) is more suitable for long term use and less addictive.
s not as effective. I have also noticed when I take the Abilify along with my Adderall it helps increase my energy and productivity.
I am also talking with my Psychiatrist about putting me on an AD (Wellbutrin), in the near future to hopefully better address my depression and lack of energy.
For one reason or another I have not had any luck with any other anti-psychotic, mood stabilizer or atypical medications, and am pretty much at my rope's end with new medication to try (minus ADs).
I am a 40 year old female with ADD and Bilor Disorder. I take Abilfy, Topomax, Wellbutrin and Concerta. I go to the gym 3x week and try to watch what I eat. I am always tired!!!! Any suggesstions?
ve found a combo that works for me. I take 250mg Wellbutrin twice a day and 15mg of Abilify. I also take an anti-anxiety med and sleeping pills as needed. I haven't had any side effects on these medications, and I have low blood pressure already (and had fears of starting Abilify) I have read/heard that people don't all respond positively to this med, but for me, it's the right fit. Good luck finding your combo, and remember to listen to your body and talk to your doctor!
My doc took me off effexor (wasn't helping my depression any longer) and put me on zoloft 50 mg in november. Stayed the same kinda depressed, but working, cleaning house, no biggie. then in March I told her I was still feeeling "sleepy". so she put me on abilify. Holy cow! lasted only 5 weeks on it - no sleep, restless leg syndrome, the works. when I stopped i went into the worst bout of depression ever imaginable to me - nightmarish. Went back on abilify to taper off for 1 month.
