I would like to present literature, or something to her so she can change my prescription to Wellbutrin XL. I know taking reg Wellbutrin I am not good with taking more than one pill per day. Also I have heard the regular Wellbutrin, it is too much of a dose at once causing more side effects such as anxiety, shakiness, etc. I would like to fax her a letter so she changes the prescription to XL, but she will probably just get frustrated with me and not prescribe it.
I felt great, I lost 72 lbs in about a year and a half ( I was overweight, so they weight loss was great, I felt so much better in so many ways), and my sex life was wonderful. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.

m also on celexa, trazadone, which was cut down when I started welbutrin. I had headaches when I started celexa, but as I got used to it they stopped. I kinda stagger when I walk. Maybe I'm getting older (60), but this didn't happen until I started welbutrin. Hope this helps. I feel much better tho.
I have also been suffering from anxiety and depression and was on both Lexapro and Cymbalta for a little over 2 years. They helped at first, but after a little bit, there was no help from them. I gained about 40lbs in those 2 years and have been fiercely struggling to get it off. A week ago my new doctor told me that he wanted to start me on Wellbutrin XL. He didn't even have me wean off of the other 2, just stop taking those and start the Wellbutrin the next day.
Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?
5 mg for when needed. Then after having tachycardia still I started metoprolol 25 mg (which I cut in half) to help with daily anxiety and lower my heart rate. It has definitely lowered my heart rate but I still don't feel right. Still have an uneasy feeling and tightness in my chest. I was also given celexa 20 mg weeks ago but I have been scared to start it. I suppose it and the wellbutrin will go together well since one is an NDRI and one is an SSRI.
m on 225 reg. Wellbutrin. The XL, extended release tablets stayed in my system long into the evening strong and kept me from being able to sleep well.

About two weeks into my new Wellbutrin regimen (150 mg. SR added to my nightly dose of 33 mg. Remeron), I developed a pretty intense bout of heartburn. I'm getting ready to bump my dose up to a second WB 150 SR daily, and am worried about this heartburn issue, as I seem to really be responding to this drug.
My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! Does Wellbutrin become ineffective after long term use? Do people develop anger issues over time? One doctor told me that these effects are felt early, but would not present after years of use, and today a Psychiatrist told me that my recent emotional (angry) responses were caused by the Wellbutrin and that I needed to change to Lexapro. I'm confused. Can you tell me which is the better answer?
today my chest started hurting really bad and I called my doctor he told me to continue taking the wellbutrin..I took half of a xanax because my pulse was racing as soon as I awaken this morning. I don't know why it keeps doing it.. They had me on a heart monitor for 24 hours yesterday because I had to go to the hospital for severe heart palputations( sorry if I misspelled that) and I felt faint while driving to work and I started getting black dots in my eyes and shaking extremely bad.
ve never tried Wellbutrin because I hear that it can be stimulating and I have severe anxiety. Can it be scored?
Wow! Your Dr actually said you could go cold turkey? It sounds like you need to get a different Dr. Just my opinion.
There are places that will take your unused meds. Ask your pharmacy about this. I bet they'll know.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's bad enough when you're trying to taper but for your Dr not to be there for you is awful.
Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.
I have been on Wellbutrin 300 mg XL for 1 year and due to anxiety, psyc dr. has added Zoloft - 25 mg for a week then up to 50 mg. I took 25 mg. yesterday at 1 PM and yawned a lot throughout the afternoon. When I went to bed, I took 25 mg. Visteral, prescribed by my dr. for insomnia. I try not to take it every night, it's usually after about 4-5 nights of not being able to sleep. I went to sleep last night, but woke up 3 hours later and couldn't go back to sleep even though I felt sleepy.
