Common Questions and Answers about Can i break chantix in half

chantix

Avatar n tn i've been quit for over 3 weeks now. i'm using chantix....it's amazing how well it works for me. if i dont' take one...i feel it in a few hours...if i do....quitting is rather easy (well easier than it has been in the past). BTW....5 years will turn into 26 years before you even know it. time flies by and when you hit your 30's you'll be on the sideline huffing and puffing, watching as it goes by. look...either way...whether you are 21 or 41 quitting feels the same.

596605 tn?1369946627 She recommended that I cut my Chantix dose in half, if it continues. So yes i am working very closely with my doc. Thanks for the kudos, the Chantix has really helped me , knock on wood.

984138 tn?1359813073 He said i can have his month and half worth but i dont think a month and half is long enough to take it. So i was going to get it prescribed to me. But before I do i was wondering if there are any rating of it from you all?
Avatar f tn I have had back pain and burning sensation in my lungs for 1month and a half now, I went to hospital they did an exray and ct scan and found no cancer or signs of anything but im still having pains. Im concerned because I have been smoking for 15 years a half pack of cigs.. what could it be if they did not find cancer on ct scan or is it beginning symptoms of lung cancer and they cannot detect it yet?
Avatar n tn Being that I too have had a partial hysterectomy 5 years ago I looked into if in fact I can still get pregnant and just fyi you can and it can be very harmful but this seems to make a bit more sense. They don't necessarily hurt just sore and can definitely tell they are a bit enlarged which is kind of nice. Much better than finding out you are pregnant. I'll take this as a side effect!
Avatar f tn Today is Thursday. I had my last cigarette on Tuesday. I am using Chantix. I have been having headaches. Almost a cluster type. Severe pain but short lived in addition to a dull ache that goes down into my neck. I am hoping it is a symtom of withdraw from nicotine and not the Chantix. Has anyone else had these type of headaches?
Avatar f tn Have you tried Chantix? If you have ins go to your doctor and ask him for chantix. It's a rx designed to block the nicotine receptors. You smoke while taking the med the first week and then you stop smoking, but continue the medicine. After the first week you will notice the cravings are mental but not so much physical. You can google "chantix" and you can learn more about it. I am 30 and have smoking since 12, it's the hardest habit to break.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your nice post. I've been on chantix for a week and a half. I have a bit of back pain too in addition to neverending nausea, so I won't be taking it after this month.
Avatar n tn A year ago in January I took the chantix pill to stop smoking. In March I became sick - there were days I honestly thought that I was going to die. So tired - gained tons of weight - Hard to breath at times - forgetful - loss of hair - acky joints - feet feel like they are being crushed - dry itchy skin - much more. It has now been a year, my t4 level is now at .433 I have gone from 150 to 137 and my tsh level does not seem to change much. Is there something more that we can be checking?
Avatar f tn On Chantix for my 3rd time in 4 years. Side effects getting worse but I have NO CHOICE. I hate smoking and I am an athlete and none of my friends smoke. I have been smoke free for 2 weeks and have no cravings but dream are out of control, I get very sleepy during the day, bloated lilke when I was pregnant. I don't want to give in and just accepting that this is what I have to do in order to stop. Also, I have been so irritated I feel like I could kill someone......
Avatar f tn I was taking Chantix for about a week and a half when I had to quit it because I was experiencing depression which was getting worse by the day. This is going on the 2nd full day of no Chantix but I am still feeling depressed. I want to know how long does it stay in your system for. I woke up today and felt close to normal and then it came back again.
Avatar m tn I quit smoking using Chantix as well. I am only 1 month non-smoking. I only took Chantix for 9 days as on the 9th day I found out i was pregnant. So I was non smoking and pregnant, to only two weeks later miscarry. I am not too sure if its from the hormones, or from the symptoms of not smoking, but i was extremely irritable, it was almost to the point that everything i that came out of my mouth was snappy. I developed insomnia right from the get go from Chantix.
Avatar f tn I also quit smoking and was on Chantix at the same time. I thought the terrible side effects were Chantix. But I still am in trouble after stopping Chantix 7 weeks ago. Pretty nuts, a change from smoking 40 years, Effexor, Chantix, and Prozac. Should I quit every drug and start over?

Avatar n tn Thanks but, the Chantix reference was just an example, I never took Chantix, but learned about it's side effects during my research
444932 tn?1273980797 Thank you both for your replies..........I had a really horrid day at the hospital. Drove to work in a freaking blizzard, had the "weird" feelings zapping me from the Chantix, then I got a migraine and then I made the mistake of taking my BP which sent me into a panic attack. I told my charge nurse I was going to the ER cuz I was feeling REALLY weird, but she just had me lay down with some oxygen and relax.........I took one of my Xanax and actually fell asleep for about an hour.
Avatar n tn My experience with Chantix was pretty good but I stopped taking Chantix after my third quit day. All total, a month and a half, and I didn't look back. It is 4 months today and I had some severe reactions to my quit....2 sinus infections, pneumonia & pleurisy. I have never been sick like that but I am told that it is coincidental and has nothing to do with my quit.....hmm.......
427279 tn?1210919821 hi,i have been taking it about 2 weeks and ill be honest with you,i have such vivid dreams that i talk really loud in my sleep so i get woke up all night and im really bad depressed ...dont know if its from no sleep or the chantix its self ....i think im going to quit i cant take not getting no sleep....take care...
Avatar m tn I took Chantix for 6 weeks and I haven't smoked in nearly 1 year and 2 months. Although Chantix is generally prescribed for 3 months, and it really should be taken for that long, it is rather expensive and some try to stop using it before the recommended time. I smoked for 38 yrs. and I thought I would die a smoker. The defining moment came when my doctor asked me to "just try chantix, what do you have to lose".
Avatar f tn ive stoped being sic,my slured speech is just about gone and the pins and needles/numbness in my right side is gone i can walk to the end of my street with out falling over or feeling like im going to ...my head is only a dull pressin thud now , it came on without any warning 4-6 days after i stoped taking the wonder tablet and that was 2 weeks ago ..i currently having tests done but have no clue what happened to me ,???

20486044 tn?1499069787 I mean am i having an allergic reaction or just side affect?
444932 tn?1273980797 t listed as a side effect. I had itching also but mainly my nose and scalp. I had finished taking Chantix by then so I didn't think to blame it on that. You said that you were having headaches a few days ago. Have those subsided? I'm sure this will go away soon so hang in there. If it continues you can always write to them. The website is Chantix.com. Good luck on your quit and stay focused.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I'm BP2 and have been stable for almost a year now. However, I have been working hard at giving up nicotine over the past few months. I manage to get through about a week, suffering through nicotine withdrawals (been there, done that). However, at about day 7-8 I start to rapid cycle again; generally into a deep depression. It hit me in the teeth today; I fell into the lowest depression I have really ever been in..
286124 tn?1214938528 Hello everyone: I have a question. I am taking Loratabs and I want off. I also smoke and have gotten a perscription for Chantix. It is supposed to help me stop smoking. It releases dopamine slowly in your body to help you fight your cravings. My question is this: can Chantix also help with coming off of these pills? any advice will be very appreciated. I will post again to tell my story. I'm at work and wanted to ask real quick! thanks again!
