Avatar f tn Mark, It is difficult to offer any specific opinion without knowing your age, medical history, general health, etc. So schedule an annual physical with your PCP and tell him/her what you're experiencing. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Can hemorrhoids kill you? I have one and it's causing me to bleed a lot from my rectum. But it stops after a few minutes. But every time I take a dump it makes it bleed again!

Avatar f tn Can u eat deli meats from the store In the deli if you pregnant just curious?
Avatar m tn Usually a psychiatrist does not teach this but rather a psychologist. You can ask your p-doc about CBT as well. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Yes, they just want you to heat it up first to kill any Bacteria that might be on it. For instance, I now get my subs toasted at subway.
543959 tn?1301315419 Hey how are you doing hang in there babe i took effexor through my second pregnancy and my son was born perfectly fine and in my 3rd pregnancy with twins i was on zoloft and they are both fine. If your in your 12th week the baby should be fine all the important things are formed they said to me there is a small chance the baby will go through withdrawl when it's born but all 3 were fine if that is a concern just gradually reduce your meds towards the end of your pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Why have you decided to stop the medication? Do you feel you can cope without it? I would suggest that as you have only taken two you should be okay stopping them. You may get a few strange feelings, but nothing you cannot manage. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn It may take a while and is a fairly kind of gruelling thing to be changing all the time but if you can find the right one and your unipolar diagnosis is correct you will probably still have side effects, maybe mildly. But would you rather be horribly depressed all the time or have to deal with a couple of side effects. For this you need so much patience, I know, but it can be done...
1817640 tn?1323045243 All of the medications have different side effects. I would journal what you are feeling so that you can keep track of it day-to-day. Since it does take 4-6 weeks for these medications to really start working, you may be having a combination of side effects and the anxiety you already had. Try to eat even though you don't feel like it. Even if it is a lot of small meals during the day. Of course if your nausea turns into vomiting, then you need to call your doctor ASAP.
Avatar f tn Also, two more questions - they may seem trivial, but they are bothering me - is it safe to break open the Fluoxetine capsules, as I can not swallow them? Also I am taking 5mg Diazepam - is that safe? My GP says it's OK, I just want to know your experiences. I am very scared at the moment. Thank you.
527657 tn?1214051850 Fluoxetine is generic Prozac. I've been on it a few times, and I'm back on it again. It will take 4-6 weeks before you begin to feel a difference (sometimes sooner). But it will happen. The only side effect I've ever had from it was insomnia, but that always goes away in a few weeks, so give it some time. As far as alcohol goes, you don't say how much you drank, but I have had a couple of beers now and then on fluoxetine without any problems.
6021583 tn?1413069126 The proper way usually to do this according to published protocols is to first taper off the medication you want to quit taking as slowly as you need to before starting a new medication so you can tell what side effects are from quitting the old med and which are from starting the new one. Hope this all works out for you.
Avatar f tn Before you start a course of medication you should try some simple measures that will help you. There are three of them, and they are easy: 1) Eat well! Having a balanced diet is not difficult and gives you a psychological and physical boost. Spend some quality time with your food - choosing, preparing and enjoying it. Start with something simple, a nice pasta al ametriciana. Come back to me and I'll take you through it step by step.
1679320 tn?1306382914 it will probably take 4 to 8 weeks to fully get in your system for you to tell a difference....some people can tell a difference after only 2 weeks....like I said we all are different when it comes to these type of drugs....I wish you the best and hope it helps you with your anxiety....keep us posted ok....
Avatar f tn I would talk to your doctor first though. Maybe he/she can help you with a dosing strategy. If the inositol works great. If it doesn't then you may want to look into an SSRI. My best.
Avatar f tn Yes I suffer from the same problems as you describe above and have been on and off fluoxetine for several years for major depression and I can reassure you that the side effects as far as increased anxiety at the beginning of treatment are common and I have had to take an antianxiety medication for the first couple of weeks to combat this effect. In 2-3 weeks it should subside and that's usually when I also start to feel the desired effect of fluoxetine.
Avatar f tn It can really mess you up and make you feel worse or damage your body. Fluoxetine is one that can do that. If you haven't been taking your med, depression sneaks back in, and so your mood may be influencing the way you think. Your doctor is your partner in getting you better, and it would serve you best to let the dr. in on what is going on. Pick up the phone and ask him/her the post question and lean on the expertise and not on the depression.
983030 tn?1261353062 Can I take both 20mg fluoxetine and 25 mg amytriptyline to help with my depression. I'"ve taken both seperately without any problems I had an ECG when I was taking 100mg amytriptyline and no probelms excerpt hypertension with the amytriptyline (I take 10mg of atenolol daily and have done for some time) On Fluoxetine my BP is 120/80 - just wondered if I can combine safely the drugs smller dosage for my dysthmia.
Avatar m tn i just started on fluoxetine and it depends on when you take it, if your taking it in the morning then switching to the evenings should solve the problem.
1063764 tn?1272821064 Hello, I have a question about taking melatonin and fluoxetine in the same day. I've been on fluoxetine for almost a year now. I stopped taking melatonin when I started it because I read a few articles that it might potentially interfere. I was jw if anyone here take the two, and what your doctors have said or side effects you've had. Thanks.
