Usually an allergic reaction for a cat manifests itself on the skin(most common) this can be anything from scabs, itchiness to hair loss. and is associated mainly with a food allergy....sensitive commonly to a preservative or ingredient in dry kibble type food. grain allergies are common in cats and most cat foods are full of unnecessary grains just b/c they are 'cheap' fillers for the manufacturer, they do absolutely nothing for the diet!!!

I figure if people can build up resistance to antihistamines that it would be reasonable to assume that the same thing can happen to the cat. I generally give her the Zyrtec when the allergies are bothering her the most so that I don't give her too much.

My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

I LOVE cats with all my heart but in allergist to them :(((((((((( whenever I'm near them I get hives! My allergies might be getting better but I'm not sure. I was wondering if I have allergies to alcohol when I drink my heart sometimes races, I loose feeling in my nose and lips, if I drink a little more heavier I can't swallow sometimes my lips will be swollen in the morning and on 3 different occasions I was almost paralized for a short time I couldn't move and everything was heavy.

I feel like the house is contaminated. Dander is so hard to get rid of. My suggestion is for him to go away for a couple of weeks, maybe out west for some clean dry desert air but he refuses. Literally the only thing they haven’t tried is getting away from the cat for a while. I guess my main question is, can extreme allergies cause the swollen gland and subsequent nerve pain?

Although I am a smoker I had been attributing recent episodes of breathlessness with allergies. Because if my cat had been in my room and I go to bed I will awake coughing with my nostrils closed up so I would get up take Nyquil and go back to sleep. Everytime that would happen during the day if I tried to nap it would always be when the cat was lying near and during the day when the problem would arise I would take Dayquil and my nostril opens and the coughing would cease.

Yup I would get it. The only other option is to give them the cat so they can disect it's brain. The rabies vaccination has not had any bad side effects on pregnancy as of yet!

My cat Ozzy has deadly nails. He likes to play catch the hand and he's nailed (pun intended) me really good a couple of times. I've tried to cut his nails but he freaks out and tries to bite. I have not had this problem with any of my other cats. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can secure him to trim his nails? I can't afford a groomer so it has to be me doing the cutting. i took her to the vet they said it may be allergies. so i changed her food, litter, bought some fish oil. Nothing helped,now she has a crust around her eyes and has goopy green stuff coming out of the eyes! It was so much money for the vet and i was wondering if anyone had some info before i spend so much money again.

Both the shea butter and the coconut oil can be used both externally and internally. They can be used on your hair and all your skin. It can be used instead of petroleum jelly when using those overnight dry skin treatments. Works better actually. They can be used either separately or together. I think it could be worth a shot.
