1298588 tn?1330318981 I'm reading a book on PTSD (by the way, that can happen to anyone, not just our military folks) and the underlying anxiety that comes with that has a very real affect on the body. It's not your imagination. But it does come down to talking with a professional that can help you zero in on what's triggering the anxiety and then teach you coping strategies for it.

Like what if you have an itch on your neck right on the nerve and you rub it for a few seconds? Is it actually easy to danger yourself from this maneuver? Avatar m tn You are suffering from anxiety -- everyone has thoughts, but you're becoming obsessively worried about them. That's anxiety. I'd look for a psychologist who specializes in anxiety treatment and see if you can't put a stop to this kind of thinking. And no, you won't think yourself to death, but you can think yourself into a very hard life.
Avatar n tn Yes, they just want you to heat it up first to kill any Bacteria that might be on it. For instance, I now get my subs toasted at subway.
Avatar m tn We have given you an assessment on the HIV forum that you did not have a risk. Sometimes despite being given the facts, anxiety won't allow you to accept that, therefore seeking professional help is the best next step.
Avatar m tn No, it won't kill you, but if you continue to think like this it can become a chronic way of living. Might be time to see a psychologist who specializes in treating anxiety disorders.
Avatar m tn If a person has no underlying health conditions such as a heart disease but has a severe panic attack which jumps his or her heart rates up to 180 BPM from 80 BPM within seconds, could this sudden, unexpected change in heart rate and/or the adrenaline rush itself kill you? I have read that 200k+ people die per year from sudden death syndrome. If so, what are the chances of this happening to someone with frequent panic attacks?
Avatar f tn I agree with what Teak said, you never had an exposure and you really already answered your own question about How long HIV can remain active outside the body and the answer is a few minutes,if that. Please accept the facts and move along now.
1298588 tn?1330318981 ive had the same problem too, they say anxiety can't kill us as the heart will reset lf after a panic attack, that goes for people who do not have an electrical default, if there is a electrical problem or heart present then it can turn nasty n make the heart pump insufficient if you think u have a heart problem go to the doctor and get checked, if they picked nothing up then deal with the anxiety. they wont let you home if u have a problem with the heart they will need to sort it.

I did some searching for you, and found a very helpful link about college drinking and alcohol poisoning: http://www.collegedrinkingprevention.gov/OtherAlcoholInformation/factsAboutAlcoholPoisoning.aspx Pay special attention to the symptoms.

Avatar m tn Enough doctors have told me that arrhythmia is not going to kill me, so I will fully embrace it, and bring it on, until I can determine cause and effect. If anyone has any suggestions to bring on arrhythmia, please forward them to me. I look forward to being a lab rat. Thanks for any help you may offer.
685562 tn?1447155231 Well that makes perfect sense, though I'd never thought about it. Cigarette's speed up heart rate, change breathing patterns and constrict blood vessels among other things.
Avatar m tn Drug interactions with alcohol can certainly kill you, or your liver, of course, if you take prescriptions, and many anti-anxiety medications stop working when you consume alcohol, which, combined with the depressive nature of alcohol, can really mess with your body and your anxiety. I don't take meds for my anxiety, and when I start to metabolize the alcohol a few hours after drinking, I tend to get irritable and anxious.
Avatar f tn He recently called me and told me he was going to kill himself by taking 10 klonipin (for anxiety). He was drunk at the time. I of course called his wife and told her that suicide prevention said to call the police, but she chose not to, and, today he is still alive. Maybe next time he won't be. The question is this: He has lied to the dr. and told the dr. he doesn't drink anymore. This dr prescribes the klonipan, which he would'nt, if he knew my brother drank so much.
Avatar f tn I don't think it can cause THAT much damage to the baby but I would consider yoga....You need to do something to get better with your panic attacks.. I know you already know that but I don't think it can KILL the baby..
