Avatar n tn You will be surprised to know the bacteria responsible for GERD, heart burn, acid reflux etc called Helocobacter Pylori or H pylori can cause hives. Antibiotics given to clear up the bacteria also take care of the hives. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). You can read more about this bacteria on this link: http://digestive.niddk.nih.

For that, skin ***** tests or blood tests like (RAST) have to be performed. In this a small amount of allergen is injected in the skin of the forearm and response of the skin is seen. If there is redness and erythema then the skin is allergic to that allergen. Also get your T3, T4 and TSH levels evaluated.

You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief.

Other causes include infections and stress. Hives are very common. They usually go away on their own, but of course, it still strongly recommended having it checked by a doctor who can look at the lesion as well as the tattoo for proper evaluation.

620048 tn?1358018235 Good Morning again Meg, :o[] I have to admit to sceptism that anxiety was the direct cause of 'your' hives, oh I know it can be the cause but when a persons got so many physiological things happening to them, and take numerous medications, and has a brain thats no longer playing by the rules, then anxiety as the cause makes me just doubtful.
Avatar f tn Hives are generally caused by an allergy, although there can be other irritant causes as well. I know several people who are sucessful at controlling their hives with Allegra (generic works just as well) or some Zyrtec. If you really want to know exactly what you are allergic and what is triggering your hives you should see and allergist and have testing done. Feel better.
1442483 tn?1284210716 Skin conditions can be cause by a variety of substances including foods. And dairy intolerance (casein, not lactose) is often a problem in those with gluten autoimmune problems - cross-reaction to casein) How extensive was the allergy testing? Those with EE often have to follow a very, very strict diet because of multiple issues with foods. Ibuprofen should not be given to anyone with stomach/gastritis problems, period.
Avatar f tn Type 1 Diabetic. This last year I have been breaking out in itchy hives all over my body. They are always different looking. This time after some research, I think it may be caused from a overgrowth of Candidas (yeast) in my gut. After taking antibiotics for a bladder infection I began breaking out in these weird round red itchy hives everywhere.
