Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
Avatar m tn I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
Avatar f tn is not know to cause the symptoms you are experiencing. It could very well be a coincedince that these symptoms that may be related to a completely different cause, started at the same time you began this medication. What concerns me is that your calls, to the Dr who prescribed this to you, are not being returned. Maybe you could call the office back and ask to at least have a nurse return your call...this in no way releases the Dr of his responsibility to you, his patient.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had to stop taking Bystolic because of the symptoms you are having. I agree with NTB my blood pressure was dropping to low I fell a few times, mornings were the worse.
Avatar f tn I have asked for testing on several occassions for Thyroid problems due to the multiple symptoms that I have. My labs (which my Dr.s usually only check the TSH level) usually are in the normal range. Many times they are only a few tenths in range of what the labs consider to be the normal range. The last TSH test (over 1 year ago) came back .39 on a range of .35-5.0. I am currently waiting on new lab results.
343006 tn?1314446471 I am taking verapamil 120mg daily with bystolic 2.5 mg - spirolactone 12.5 mg and also o.c zantac 150 .daily iv been on verapamil for 6years now and started getting symptoms like hypoglycemia off and on in the day times blood tests showed nothing wrong - cardio doctor put me on bystolic 2.5 mg ,this stopped the symptoms from happening and felt better ,However after about 4weeks on the medications. I started getting nightmares and vivid dreams and waking up suddenly with Rapid heart beats !
Avatar n tn I am a female, age 63 have been on Bystolic for about 2 years have knee and leg pain that seems to be getting worse.Have mentioned this to my Doctor he says not one of listed side effects so he blew me off.
Avatar m tn I did, however, develop some really weird symptoms almost immediately after taking the Bystolic. I would notice that I would feel really light headed and maybe even a little nauseous immediately after taking the Bystolic. Also, I developed a very weird feeling in my chest (not the entire chest like before, but only in the left side, around the heart). It is a hard feeling to describe, but it is more like a soreness, not a pain. My left arm also started to twitch at random intervals.
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn I am also on a low dose of Diovan 80 mg for HTN but these symptoms are new since starting Bystolic. I have tried atenolol, but makes me sooooo tired, I am also tired on Bystolic not as much. Could the Bystolic be causing circulatory problems? No edema to feet or ankles but, some to medial knees. Thank you. This discussion is related to Side effects of Bystolic.
Avatar n tn I started bystolic just over a month ago and have experienced nearly the exact symptoms that you described...but on my left side. The pain became so severe that I I stopped the drug just 3 days ago and the pain is gradually subsiding. Haven't had to take any pain medication since stopping the drug. I was taking it as a beta blocker to prevent migraines, but the shoulder, neck and shoulder blade pain was more severe than the migraines.
Avatar f tn My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.
687614 tn?1244197979 Hi, I just wanted to know if other people have taken this Beta Blocker called Bystolic. It seems that I have been having difficulties with it... or may be the symptoms I have are common to all Beta Blockers? I take 2.5 mg 2 times a day... My face is flushed, actually feels like it might blow up. I feel weak, tired, and suffer with sleep disturbances, and extreme nausea, lost 18 pounds in a month.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar f tn A week later the results came back normal and so he changed my bp med to Bystolic 10 mg. It was like a miracle drug. My episodes became far and few in between but my bp was staying real low so I would have to skip a few days meds and take them every two to three days. This worked for awhile but around the time I changed primary doctors it started back but heart rate was more of an issue than the blood pressure.
Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
1933354 tn?1323362834 I am currently taking 2.5mg Bystolic, my cardiologist prescribed them to me to help control my heart rate. I was having lots of panic attacks and my pulse would get really high. I am on day 7 of the beta, I do feel a huge difference, a lot less anxiety, all my physical symptoms of anxiety are gone. However, I am noticing some effects of the beta blocker, such as heavy legs, really tired, tightness in chest.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
899454 tn?1295583938 Not all BBs are created equally -- and the various BBs available do not work equally for everybody. In addition, there is compelling evidence that in some cases generic versions of some BBs are NOT as effective as the more expensive brand names -- several generic BBs were even recalled recently in the US due to problems in efficacy and lack of standardization. Different BBs can affect different organs in the body -- some cross the blood brain barrier, some do not.
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar f tn These symptoms could be from the Bystolic. Bystolic is not one of the most common drugs used for a long QT. There are other betablockers such as Metroprolol or Bisoprolol that have fewer symptoms. Was your fractured lead removed?
Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
