Bystolic side effects impotence

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic side effects impotence

bystolic

Avatar f tn The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
Avatar f tn I been on Bystolic for sometime now/ I didn't realize there were side effects to this pill? I have some of those side effects you are talking about. I'm not sure which pill I take might be cause of it. I have the wakefulness at night and I take Bystolic in the mornings. Ihave dizziness and not sure if it's this pill because I have had dizziness before? I have up n down or highs and lows with my blood pressure.
214864 tn?1229715239 I took both bystolic and atenolol. No side effects from atenolol, other than the inability to do intense cardio exercises. Bystolic allowed me to do a more intense workout without getting winded, but it did notice a significant change in memory function. Witht he approval of my cardiologist, i switched between both drugs over the course of 3 years (while attending college for a second degree and an MBA). There definitely is some sort of inhibition of memory recall from bystolic.
Avatar f tn Just curious if anyone who is taking bystolic experiences side effects all the time, or if it is a gradual onset after dosing, or what? My side effects always seem to hit me in the late afternoon, early evening. I take my dose anytime between 6am and 7am.
Avatar n tn I am a female, age 63 have been on Bystolic for about 2 years have knee and leg pain that seems to be getting worse.Have mentioned this to my Doctor he says not one of listed side effects so he blew me off.
Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I hope someone sees this, im sorry but one of the questions not asked is how strong are the side effects, libido, impotence, decreased ejaculation , are we talking 20%, or 50%
Avatar m tn I am taking it for slightly high blood pressure. As it happens, I also have frequent palpitations (for decades now). I find that Bystolic actually *does* decrease my palps, even though I did not expect that! BTW, this is the only blood pressure medication I've ever taken that seems to be without nasty side effects. The first week, I felt as though I might have had a bit too much to drink, but since then, I can't even tell that I'm taking anything.
687614 tn?1244197979 Now they are thinking of Inderal, but it has more of these side effects that Bystolic. My dx just came today... Sino Atrial Node Dysfunction... of which I have started as another post.
Avatar n tn ve been on metoprolol before, and had some awful side effects with that one, but the bystolic seems to tame those down quite a bit for me. I've only had two instances in which I could tell I was experiencing some slight side effects (dizziness, slight shortness of breath, pressure). I've also been told by my GP that, if I find myself with a rapid heart rate or back in A-fib, I can take another 2.5mg dose right then, since it's such a small dosage.
Avatar m tn With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol? I believe the Atenolol was doing the job. I had a few spikes and most of them were while in a Doctors office. I might add I have been taking the Atenolol since my Heart Surgery in 1996.
Avatar m tn I recently read that one of the side effects of circumcision is meatal stenosis and that uncircumcised men don't suffer from it. Is that correct? Also, would this side effect occur if a male had a frenoplasty? Do any of the other side effects of circumcision apply to a frenoplasty?
Avatar m tn Common side effects experienced by people taking Bystolic included headache, fatigue, dizziness, weakness and diarrhea. I have not seen any findings that others are experiencing this side effect. However if you are experiencing joint and muscle pain I would definitely urge you to contact the prescriber and discuss your symptoms. It may be more likely that the Crestor is causing the joint and muscle pain.
Avatar f tn s office and asked about these symptoms, the nurse stated the doctor said these were not normal side effects. How do I get my Oncologist to see that I am having these problems and to treat them?
Avatar m tn m not the doctor but I know exactly what you mean regarding the side effects from Coreg. I was put on it for a little over a year due to an aneurysm in my ascending aorta and the cardio wants my blood pressure kept very low. Like you, I am still lightheaded/off balance on occasion. I walk on a daily basis and even a brisk pace fails to get my heart rate out of the 70s. (Of course with the aneurysm I'm not supposed to get my heart rate very high.
1217309 tn?1267050177 I took Lexapro for about a month and at first it worked, but it felt like I was a zombie (hope that makes sense) kind of zoned out - I assume that's what it's supposed to do? dr never told me anything. I didn't notice any help with anxiety/depression issues though and when my month was done, I didn't go back. Still woke up with nightmares, panic attacks etc. btw...
343006 tn?1314446471 For me , verapamil did not work ( very fatigued), toprol XL had horrible side effects after several days, ect.. And then you may have to adjust your doseage too! I finally found atenolol, still not perfect ( none would be better) but it works the best for me with least side effects. I have found calcium/mag supplements help my heart palps- anyone out know natural remedies for B/P issues?? Good luck, and don't give up til you find something that works, either natural or pharmacutical!!
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for your thoughts. I take 5 mg of Bystolic. Just reread the side effects. This could be the source of the issue. Getting the blood pressure meds right is tricky business and some more tweaking may be necessary. I have taken Azor with the Bystolic. I may need to resume that. Again, thank you.
Avatar n tn I agree, BYSTOLIC appears to control and relax the heart rate like no other beta blocker I was ever prescribed. My experience during the past couple of months with BYSTOLIC (5 mg) are excellent heart rate control, no gastro issues, anti anxiety effect and good sleep. The negative effects have been knee pain, stiff and heavy legs, especially when using stairs, low libido (loss of morning erections), and fatigue.
1933354 tn?1323362834 Medication definitely affects us all in different ways, but there are side effects to any medication that we take. The question that I ask myself is do the benefits I get from something outweigh negatives? If they do, I tend to stay on it. However, if you are not comfortable with it there are different classes of medicaitons that are prescribed specifically for anxiety.
Avatar m tn It worked really well up until the last year. Have had very few side effects.
Avatar n tn Along with that, it has the same side effects as all the other beta blockers. If you have benign palpitations I would stay away. I was switched to bystolic, which has worked well for me where toprol and atenolol didn't.
