Do not use proactive. It makes your skin dependent on it and when you stop your acne will come back much worse. I use a wash cloth and gently scrub my face with soap. Dove and Olay work the best for me, don't over dry the skin. Then I pat dry and put Clean and Clear Persa Gel, works wonders! If my face gets dry, which it does every time the season change, I use Burt's Bees Res-Q Ointment. Burt's Bees also works beautifully on vanishing past acne scars.

Generally I just use an acne cleanser usually twice per day and deal with it. Well a month or so ago my skin started breaking out a little more than normal. I had made no change to any skin care or makeup or anything. As a result I started to look for some new care products for acne, etc... I only buy mild products, and wash twice per day.

I have incredibly sensitive skin. nearly ever sunscreen I have ever tried has caused a fine, itchy rash that makes my skin feel tight. It takes 3-5 days of using the product for the rash to appear. Try not to use face washes and such, it'll only dry your face out. I've never used this before but my grandma told me to use cumin powder and water mixed into a paste. Put it on your face and allow to dry then wash off. My grandma's skin in absolutely flawless. She used it back when she was young. It's also natural, I know there are certain products we can't use for acne while pregnant. I however use regular soap, Dove or Olay because they keep my skin hydrated.

You might laugh but I use Burt's bees baby wash. I've been using it about a year now and have a little more than half a bottle left and I never get break outs. It's really gentle and smells nice.

My acne was getting out of control and my doctor prescriber erythromycin topical gel. It seems to be working. And I have been using mary Kay 3 in 1 cleanser and dove soap.

Re-reading my comments, I realize that it looked like Burt's Bees products were the ones I was avoiding! Actually, I highly recommend Burt's Bees. I have fine hair and must shampoo every day. That said, I use Burt's Bees Very Volumizing shampoo (and conditioner) -- Pomegranate and Soy. I transitioned from a "do" that required lots of product and fussing to a simple bob and looks professional and is "hot flash friendly." For me, less is more. Good luck!!

I still use the Johnson and Johnson two-in-one (shampoo and wash). I've never tried Aveeno so not sure about that stuff! I say less is better, too. There's so much out there that you think you'll need and then you end up not ever using it. I still have stuff from my first daughter's baby shower. You do not need baby oil or baby powder, for instance. Another thing you may want to try that is NOT drying is BURT'S BEES shampoo & wash (it's also a two-in-one).

I never get acne but had recent break out. So I bought and used a salicylic acid face scrub and astringent by burts bees. I used it two days and third had horrible burn rash on my face. I used neosporin on it and it got worse. I stopped everything. just rinsed with water warm compresses and fresh aloe from my aloe plant. It seems to be working less red took down inflamation but now its dry and itchy and feel like i need moisterizer and fash wash. but I donot want to irritate it.

Hi. I have been experiencing this red rash above my upper lip (looks like a moustache). I have had it now for roughly 2 months with no sign of it going away any time soon. Prior to having it these two months I did have this rash once or twice before, I believe it was earlier this year or late last, but it lasted a much shorter length of time. It kind of looks like I just had my upper lip waxed. It is itchy and sometimes feels like a prickly feeling. It does not appear to be chapped.

I too am breaking out, luckily for me I am an esthetician.. I use all murad products and they work really well for me. I use an exfoliating acne treatment gel as well as a clarifying mask a couple times a week. It really works for me. If you want to try it out you can purchase the acne kit and test it out. m not a doctor, but maybe a call to your doctor will give you some info to help with over the counter remedies. Perhaps might it be from a face cleanser or colgne or products used for acne or skin cleaning? All those items tend to dry in the corners of the nose, etc. Just a thought. It may be some type of eczema and your doctor may be able to help you.

A thick gritty exfoliator mixed with an acne face cleaner will do the trick! I use Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel for acne prone skin and St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub for blemish and blackhead. Good luck!

Limit your daily regimen to cleanser + toner + micro gel + spf. Then your nighttime regimen would be cleanser + toner + moisturizer. Exfoliation should be very limited or avoided when using the micro gel, because it's essentially exfoliating your skin already. And yes, you need SPF, whether its a separate sunscreen or a built-in moisturizer. Personally I use the built-in moisturizer, its quicker.

Go to your local whole foods or target... Dr. Brenner's tea tree cleanser... when you wash yourself, be sure to go inside utilizing this wash and really get in there and cleanse yourself. Tea tree is an amazing product and with this cleanser that is made of all organic and natural oils... Will really get you taken care of. Also it helps me and several other people with acne on or face or bodies. It's an amazing product a bit pricey but definitely well worth it.
