Avatar m tn doc suggested going off of bupropion and switch to paxil. It has been 11 days. still taking the bupropion 150 and lamictal 100 but have had to start taking a lot more klonopin because to the rise in anxiety and I don't like taking this.
Avatar f tn Changed antidepressants 3 weeks ago from Lexapro to Bupropion Xl 150... Bad insomnia hit this week... up for over 36 hours. They gave me Lunesta 3mg. I have taken 2 nights in a row and sleep well. Then today Pins & needles in arms, legs, feet, and head. should I be looking at thyroid again and not the new meds?
Avatar f tn i hv bn on citalopram 120mg. I hv excessive sweating. dr suggested going on bupropion.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm 44, I was diagnosed with depression about 14 years ago. My regular doctor put me on lexapro 10mg daily. Then we increased to 20mg. About 5 years ago, I started a business. Maybe the strees and responsibilities, besides aging, made my symptoms worse. I started to " Butterfly",.worrying about things out of my control, like future and financial being bad,and became like homeless, ext. I know,is all in my mind, but you guys know, how depression is. As I right now, I'm on .
Avatar f tn ) or elimination may be expected to influence the degree and extent of accumulation of the active metabolites of bupropion. The elimination of the major metabolites of bupropion may be affected by reduced renal or hepatic function because they are moderately polar compounds and are likely to undergo further metabolism or conjugation in the liver prior to urinary excretion.
Avatar m tn Finally looked on line just in case it could be connected to the bupropion and yes it is. I could cope with that as a trade off. The Drug has done wonders when it was added to Effexor and Lexapro for severe Bipolar depression. It had taken me 3 years to get rebalanced and the Bupropion was what finally made the difference. I kept asking people if I was looking older and older, they couldn't tell. I'm not vain but I feel so ugly that I hate meeting new people.
Avatar n tn Wellbutrin is only for depression, not anxiety. Can increase anxiety. For sexual side effects it is used in conjunction with an ssri, not instead of one for those suffering from anxiety, and even then you have to be very careful about increased anxiety.
Avatar n tn My doctor now wants to switch me to lexapro which is not on the $4 plan. I do not want to keep switching from one to another. Does anyone know how lexapro is? I will be paying almost as much as the wellbutrin xl, which i am willing to do to feel better. Do I have to slowly get off of the celexa and make the switch to wellbutrin or can i just switch the next day?
Avatar f tn m on Celexa now but am wondering if maybe Lexapro would be better since anxiety is my biggest concern. Has anyone had suggest with Lexapro. Also does Lexapro cause weight gain like Celexa?
Avatar n tn Hello, I just switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin. I was originally taking lexapro for anxiety which I have had for the past 10 or so years. After my daughter was born, I was then taking it for both anxiety and depression. I normally am not a depressed person. Now I switched to Wellbutrin because of the sexual side effects of Lexapro. My concern is that I have felt really dopy the last couple of weeks.
1458799 tn?1328757528 The switch your doc made for you is quite common, a lot of times, rather than trying another med in the same class of meds (ie another SSRI, like Zoloft/Prozac/Lexapro), they decide to try a med in a different class, as in your case. Doctors usually take into consideration your symptoms, medical history, any other concurrent conditions or meds you may be taking to decide what the next step will be.
Avatar f tn http://psy.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/47/3/188 BTW I to have liver disease and I have been on most of them with no issues in regards to the liver.
Avatar f tn The zoloft never seemed to work well, would have jitteriness, sweats and would seem to stop working around my period. I am going to see a naturopath and starting progesterone as she thinks that is my issue but I didn't feel I could go off a antidepresant yet so asked to switch to lexapro. Lexapro doesn't seem to be working well, still jittery crying spells etc. Never had anxiety before so at a loss at this point, am only 39 so very frustrating.
Avatar f tn BUT...I was also prescribed Lexapro, please keep in mind that some of these meds that are for depression are also prescribed to help with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. If you are just a "worrier" by nature, you could very well have GAD. I am on a VERY low does of Lexapro (10mg), and it helps with my daily nervousness. But I understand how you feel about the meds, I was very reluctant to take anything. But the meds in conjunction with talk therapy, has helped me a lot.
Avatar m tn But the wellbutron (bupropion) as my Dr. and I figured out was making me feel so much worse. Really bad anxiety like I can't even describe, and constant crying. It just kept getting worsr when I thought it was just me and that the bupr. would take some time to take effect. So she upped my dosage and 2 days later I caled her and went back in. That's when I stopped the burpro. immidiatly and she put me on celexa and klonopin for the anxiety.
Avatar f tn t even take a Sudafed without being jittery and feeling strange. Granted, we are all different, but with that being said, I had virtually no side effects from Lexapro. Celexa is very close in chemical makeup, but that one didn't work well for me for my anxiety. I know it does for others, with minimal side effects, so it may be a good choice.
Avatar n tn Wellbutrin CAN be helpful even when people have previously had a good response to an SSRI (Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Lexapro, etc.). It does have some serotinergic effect, as those meds do, but also works on a different neurotransmitter and may give you more energy. A big plus is that it generally does not the negative sexual side effects that may accompany the SSRIs, and in some people it increases sexual desire where this has been lacking.
Avatar f tn Wellbutrin (bupropion) and Lexapro can be taken together. There is no negative interaction. Strangely, the addition of Wellbutrin to Lexapro is said to reverse some of the latter's tendency to interfere with erection, libido, and orgasm in males (and Lexapro is BAD in this respect). The normal dose of Wellbutrin after titrating up from 150mg is 300mg, preferably in the XL (released gradually over time) form, and the Lexapro is normally one 10mg tab QD.
