I work in a forensic hospital and have seen a number of patients who snort buspirone. The drug is traded for sexual favors here and aside from the obvious high some patients report it provides an aphrodesic effect. This is new information..there any data to evidence this side effect?

m an eighteen year-old female, I take anxiety and depression drugs like Buspirone 30 mg, Bupropion 150 mg, Escitalopram 30 mg and Propranolol 40 mg on a daily basis for about two years. Two weeks ago, I had an orgasm, and then I rolled to lie on my side. The moment I moved, I felt severe chest pain, I couldn't breathe, and I had all of the symptoms of a heart attack.
I am currently on 20mg of Paroxetine (Paxil) once a day and 10mg of Buspirone (Buspar) twice a day. I am also on Nexium and Amoxicillin (3 more days). I have been taking my pills like this:
Morning/Breakfast: Paroxetine, Buspirone, and Amoxicillin
Lunch: Nexium
Dinner: Buspirone and Amoxicillin.
I read today that both Paxil and Peroxetine taken together could cause problems. I have read otherwise somewhere else. After I read this I felt extremely dizzy and faint feeling.
Wellbutrin is only for depression, not anxiety. Can increase anxiety. For sexual side effects it is used in conjunction with an ssri, not instead of one for those suffering from anxiety, and even then you have to be very careful about increased anxiety.
But the wellbutron (bupropion) as my Dr. and I figured out was making me feel so much worse. Really bad anxiety like I can't even describe, and constant crying.
It just kept getting worsr when I thought it was just me and that the bupr. would take some time to take effect. So she upped my dosage and 2 days later I caled her and went back in. That's when I stopped the burpro. immidiatly and she put me on celexa and klonopin for the anxiety.
I took Buspirone together with Paxil for a long time. I'm certainly not a doctor but when I stopped taking them both, the Paxil I had to wean off of because it's an SSRI but the Buspirone I just stopped and didn't have any problems. BUT, I would definitely consult with your doctor first to see what he/she recommends because everyone is different and certain medications you cannot just stop cold turkey. Good luck!! Neither one. It would be better to treat the anxiety with a proven medication, like buspirone. St. John's wort is a bad choice. It's only been proven to work in very mild cases of depression anyway. You need prescription anti-anxiety medication. And an education about how herpes is spread.
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
I am suffering from I believe depression I have problems sleeping this has recently started wierd thoughts and its very disturbing, I feel said and hopeless my doctor put me on Bupropion and I felt better the first day the next day I eel over active different? Have any one taken Bupropion and whats your reactions?
My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
i suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks lately i would say the past few months and its just getting worse and worse.. my dr. gave me buspirone its a low dose and really not doing much for me. i wanted to know if anyone else has taken this and if its helping.

My doctor has decided that Depression is the cause of my anxiety, and has upped my bupropion to 450 mg a day until the tremors and shaking started, then he lowered me back down to 300. Now I have feel angry or like crying all the time. An explotion can come at anytime, but because the depression was better at 450 mg a day he wants to combine atenolol with it to fight the side effects. I don't like the side effects of either one of these drugs.
