Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.

My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.

I've been taking Bupropion(generic) for 3 months. I've tried 300mg-XL, 2x150mg-SR, and both times (though I'd take the morning dose at 6AM) had a hard time falling asleep at night, tossing around in bed an hour or so. I normally don't have a sleeping problem. So, I now take only one 150mg-SR around 7AM and no afternoon dose. I can fall asleep fine now, but my energy runs out in the late afternoon ...

My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.

Is it possible for hot flashes to go away with taking only 150 mg of bupropion sr. I know from what I read it can cause them, but I already have them pretty severe, and it seems better is this possible?

Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... Started Generic Wellbutrin 150 SR almost 2 weeks ago. Only taking 1 per day prescribed by a GP. Dose will probably change after my first actual phsyciatrist appt. this week. Question is: I got my period for the normal 5 days and have been spotting for 5 MORE DAYS AND COUNTING! Is this one of the "start up" side effects or a permanent thing???

Gary, I have read all over the place that Bupropion SR can cause breakthrough bleeding and start the cycle early as well. I was trying to find out if this will be ongoing or a med start up side effect, nobody really mentioned when or if it stops. Btw, all my gyno, blood work and hormone tests are very recent. Even though I am 49, I show no signs of pre menopause so it is definitely the medication. I will be seeing a phsyciatrist is a few hours, hopefully he can answer that question.

Another question is, I am currently taking COSAAR 50mg to control my Blood pressure and after a couple of months, it seems that the medication has no effect on me. I was wondering whether the 100mg COSAAR is actually twice the 50mg dosage coz I am currently taking 1/2 tablet of 100mg instead of the 50mg tablet, due the cost different.

It works on another nueral transmitter, dopamine. The differance between SR and XL is one of release time. 300 mgs of SR requires a 150 mg tablet twice a day. XL is one 300 mg tablet once a day. Antidepressants often become ineffective over time. Wellbutrin worked well for me for about 3 years and then it didn't. Adding Remeron helped but everyone is different. Now I'm back to Zoloft which worked very well but left me with no libido.
