Avatar f tn Under the supervision of your physician, it may be possible to lower your dose enough to reduce sexual side effects while still obtaining depression relief. And many people have found the addition of a small dose of Bupropion (Wellbutrin) in addition to other anti-depressants, lowers their sexual side effects. Some people also find that they can go off of Zoloft for two days weekly in order to restore sexual function without losing the drug’s effects.

Avatar f tn ) or elimination may be expected to influence the degree and extent of accumulation of the active metabolites of bupropion. The elimination of the major metabolites of bupropion may be affected by reduced renal or hepatic function because they are moderately polar compounds and are likely to undergo further metabolism or conjugation in the liver prior to urinary excretion.

Avatar n tn I am on 100 mg of bupropion and was feeling a little anxious. Before taking bupropion, when I felt a little anxious my roommate would give me one of his ativan's, but a full 0.5 would make me sleepy…so I cut it down to 0.25 which worked nicely. I have started to do that with the bupropion…is that ok?
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Bupropion(generic) for 3 months. I've tried 300mg-XL, 2x150mg-SR, and both times (though I'd take the morning dose at 6AM) had a hard time falling asleep at night, tossing around in bed an hour or so. I normally don't have a sleeping problem. So, I now take only one 150mg-SR around 7AM and no afternoon dose. I can fall asleep fine now, but my energy runs out in the late afternoon ...
Avatar n tn Are you in the US? The maximum daily dosage here shouldn't exceed 400mg/day due to the risks of seizures and even then it should only be after a tolerance to the drug has been built up. Yes, Wellbutrin (bupropion) is a stimulant drug and is different from most other antidepressants such as SSRIs whereas they tend to take weeks to take effect, bupropion can usually be felt sooner and I myself felt it on the first dose too.
Avatar f tn t experience withdrawal, prescribed me a Medrol dose-pack and the muscle relaxant cyclobezeprine (Flexeril). Other medical/psychiatric conditions I have are hypothyroidism and bi-polar disorder/depression for which I take levothyroxine (Synthroid), divalproex (Depakote) and bupropion (Welbutrin).
Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
Avatar f tn I have been on a 300 mg dose of Bupropion XL for about a half year now. I also am on a 100 dose of Zoloft. I was originally on only Zoloft but it wasn't working well so I got put on Bupropion XL which worked. I take Trazidone when needed for my sleeping issues. I never had any side affects from it until recently. I've noticed that in the past month I would get nausea after I take Bupropion, as well as feeling jittery and tense.
950277 tn?1247274551 I'm on it. It helps me quite a lot with my depression; I get WAY more energy and it helps me not to dwell too much on depressing issues and actually get out and do stuff insead of just lying around staring at the ceiling. I do have trouble sleeping, which Wellbutrin (bupropion) often does with its somewhat "speedy" way of working. It makes some people more anxious as well.
Avatar f tn Hello, I had a thyroidectomy for Grave's Disease in 1993, and have been on a Levoxyl dose of 125 for awhile. For the last several months I've been fatigued/depressed, so I just started taking bupropion 10 days ago, the first 3 days at 150, then 300. I went in three days ago to Urgent Care because the previous night I couldn't sleep, felt itchy (no rash) all night, and I kept getting alarmingly intense muscle twitches all over.
Avatar m tn I've been on bupropion xl 300mg for 7 years and it has truly changed my life. I used to have very severe Seasonal Affective Disorder and social anxiety, both of which have been all but cured with the medication. However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills.
Avatar f tn So now i went back on my old anti depressant bupropion 150mg never had any side effects before...now i started having the flushing i had when i took the zoloft. So miserable. Anyways im gonna stop these anti depressants and try some natural stuff.
1110049 tn?1409402144 She tells me that the lowest dose of XL is 75mg. She has put me on 37.5mg daily Venlafaxine. I tried this as 150mg dose, and it was not the same at all as Effexor. Is there any alternative. I know Venlafaxine, is supposed to be the same as Effexor, but I don't think it is - at least my body said it was different!! I am now wondering what the next step is for me. What is the difference between Effexor XL and Venlafaxine. How do I reduce from 37.5mg Venlafaxine?
1029865 tn?1252418538 s a subclinical dose generally used for a sleep aide. From what I remember when I was on Seroquel, 300 mg. was the lowest effective dose (and from what I was informed by my psychiatrist as well) and it didn't work if I lowered it any further.
889551 tn?1416184483 I'm on a low dose of wellbutrin, 200mg. I think you can go up to 400-450. And my abilify is just 2mg so it's the lowest dose. I'm just not sure which stimulant to try. I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Avatar m tn I am doing better at my prescribed dose but am getting more and more suspicious of all meds in general. For instance-time released bupropion ruined my life for a while but changing to immediate release bupropion did not have the negative side-effects. Also, using fluticasone (Flonase) more than a few days at a time exacerbates my depression/suicidality. Bottom line: be careful and take notes of how your body responds to meds.
Avatar m tn my cholesterol is under control and at decent levels My blood pressure was borderline high in the past and I have been taking quinapril for a while now. (max dose). My blood pressure was better at ~ 120/90. I also take bupropion xl and was taking olanzipine. I have stopped the olanzapine, after long term use. Coming off the olanzapine, I have had more anxiety and more emotion, and have not slept very well. After stopping olanzapine, my BP was checked and was now high again at 148/110.
4951398 tn?1365456743 Only taking 1 per day prescribed by a GP. Dose will probably change after my first actual phsyciatrist appt. this week. Question is: I got my period for the normal 5 days and have been spotting for 5 MORE DAYS AND COUNTING! Is this one of the "start up" side effects or a permanent thing???
479459 tn?1246742019 Do a low morning dose of bupropion, to avoid additional insomnia, and the SSRI at night. 5-htp can be used as an OTC substitute for an SSRI, and L-tyrosine a sub for bupropion but L-tyr only boosts dopamine not norepinephrine, but still helps some. Melatonin can help with sleep. Omega fatty acids especially 3, sunflower lecithin, B-6, B-12, magnesium, vit D3, and Acetyl L-Carnitine with alpha lipoic acid all help with brain zaps and fog. The best help though, has been CBD.
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.

Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Avatar m tn It is possible that bupropion (Wellbutrin) may cause your symptoms of tremors and joint pain. Please contact your provider and pharmacist to report the adverse effects and have them confirm by conducting a complete medication review, including prescription, over-the-counter, and any dietary and herbal supplements. Some of the common side effects of bupropion are headaches (26%, compare to 23% of placebo), dry mouth (17%, compare to 7% of placebo), insomnia (11%, compare to 6% of placebo).
