wellbutrin

Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
1342640 tn?1276181928 Yes, that's what I meant to say by saying it's not useful when anxiety is the main problem, but can be when depression is the main problem. This case appears to be mostly anxiety, at least by what the poster has said. But even in cases of depression, wellbutrin is so stimulating it often causes anxiety, so it's not generally a first resort med for anxiety.
Avatar m tn I've been on bupropion xl 300mg for 7 years and it has truly changed my life. I used to have very severe Seasonal Affective Disorder and social anxiety, both of which have been all but cured with the medication. However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills.
4100850 tn?1351212549 my dr has my info ive been on clonazepam zoloft and bupropion for 3 mnths. not sure meds r even working i still have headaches every day. and still dont want to go outside. i feel stupid.
Avatar f tn ve been suffering from periods of depression and anxiety for the last 5 years. To cut a long story short it came to a head last month and decided to start a course of Sertraline (50mg). As most people taking anti depressants would say it takes 1-2 months to get the benefits and also putting up with possible side effects. I personally had the side effects of extreme tiredness/ lethargy, lack of motivation and slight Nausea.
766032 tn?1281641481 I take bupropion (Wellbutrin) but I take it for OCD/Anxiety. I believe I have undiagnosed ADD as well. For me it works well for my OCD/Anxiety. The ADD, well I have lived with that for so long that I think I have just found ways around the attention problems that I have so I can't really say that it helps or doesn't with that particular part of my life. If you have any specific questions about it, let me know and maybe I can give you a better answer.
Avatar m tn doc suggested going off of bupropion and switch to paxil. It has been 11 days. still taking the bupropion 150 and lamictal 100 but have had to start taking a lot more klonopin because to the rise in anxiety and I don't like taking this.
1325668 tn?1294444126 This med is a stimulating anti-depressant, not usually used as a primary tool for anxiety. I suppose there must be some research showing it helps people quit smoking, but it seems like taking a drug to quit a drug is a bit odd, especially this one, which can cause anxiety. Stopping nicotine usually makes people nervous, and this can make people more nervous. But what do I know?
1171357 tn?1285851820 I am currently being treated for depression and social anxiety disorder. I have been going through treatment now for over 6 months. I am getting both verbal therapy and prescriptions. The verbal therapy has really shed a lot of light on my life and why things are the way they are and how to cope with my problems. The problem that I am having is with my medication. I have tried flouxetine, sertraline, abilify, paroxetine now bupropion.
Avatar m tn Because this is a very stimulating antidepressant and for those with primary anxiety it can make the anxiety worse. But if depression is your main problem, it might help -- we're all different in how well we metabolize and are affected by medication -- and it's known not to have some of the nasty side effects of other antidepressants such as sexual side effects and weight gain. But only trying it will tell, and be aware of its stimulating nature.
Avatar m tn I started taking bupropion at the same itme, and suspect the bupropion may have interfered with the initial trial of gabapentin. I need the bupropion for the anxiety associated with Nystagmus, but I know it causes blurred vision and convergence problems. Should I even bother to try memantine? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed 300 mg xl of bupropion for anxiety that comes from a neurlogical problem in my eyes called Nystagmus. I think side effects of bupropion cause blurred vision and problems with one eye not moving in conjunction with the other which is horrible in addition to Nystagmus. I've lived with this because I was told bupropion is the least likeliest of pills to cause sexual disfunction. Is this true?
Avatar f tn some fits some better than others. As for me, bupropion is the only one I can take; I have also tried Paxil, Celexa and Zoloft and they all made me feel lethargic, sleepy and in the mood for nothing. Yes, bupropion makes it hard for me to sleep and makes me slightly edgy, but I get the energy and the feelings of motivation. it's really different for everybody. I don't get the tremors etc, though.
Avatar n tn I have been taking bupropion XL 300 once a day for about 2 months. I had been getting my prescription filled at our local walgreens. My insurance has "forced" me to go on a mail order drug program. (they wont pay for my prescriptions if i dont which is over $200) I started taking the mail order pharmacies bupropion for about 2 weeks same dosage and name... pills look different though.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed bupropion xl 300 mg. for my anxiety, I suspect it is causing blurred vision possibly convergence insufficiency. (One eye seems to stay still while the other moves) This is the worst thing for someone who already has Nystagmus. I was wondering if there was an alternative to this medication without blurred vision or sexual side effects. While it is reported that Bupropion is the least likely anti depressant to cause sexual side effects, in my case it does.
5371853 tn?1367025372 At the age of 30, after a dramatic weight loss due to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (50 lbs!) I started to experience SEVERE depression and anxiety for the first time in my lifea year ago. No history of emotional problems, nor is my life troubled. It's actually quite stable. I have spent this year exploring every medical possibility: B12, thyroid, neuro issues, heart issues, thiamine, and more. I broke down and started bupropion 8 weeks ago, I am up to 300XL and have been for 6 weeks.
1325668 tn?1294444126 Bupropion is the generic name for Wellbutrin. Years ago it had some success and I even know a few who quit using it. I would imagine, because it is also an antidepressant it might cause dizziness. It may take a few days to adjust and if it persists I would talk to your doctor. Good luck on your quit and if you need any support, we are here for you.
7001009 tn?1386963933 I know there are a ton of reviews, stories and recommendations regarding generic Wellbutrin (bupropion) usage and duration but my case seems unique and cannot find anything remotely similar to it. I'll keep as short and sweet as possible: - I started on 150mg of Bupropion (Sandoz manufacturer) and had an INTENSE honeymoon starting on the third day. It lasted ~2 days and the effects felt almost identical to that of MDMA.
Avatar f tn Usually following a somewhat traumatic event. My anxiety seemed to have shifted to depression for many years and my Dr. put me on bupropion-around the same time I started going thru some really hard personal stuff. The anxiety hit me hard as well as a new symptom that I refer to as crying jags. Went to Dr. and he didn't think it was the medicine-which did wonders for my depression. I started counseling and have been re-learning coping skills, stress management, etc.
Avatar f tn The sex drive is good to know. Citalopram also gave me that side effect. I am glad the Wellbutrin did not make you gain weight. I wonder how long until it is out of my system. The doctor said if i quit cold turkey on Citalopram, it can cause bad side effects. That's why I am taking half a pill of it. I know you are not a doctor, or maybe you are, but how long until you think the Citalopram is out of my system? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am taking fluoxetine 40 mg and Bupropion 300 extended release. I started a new job about a month ago and have been going full steam ahead. I have had 4 days off and have woke up anxious the last three of them as well as feeling a little depressed. Doc seems to think I was keeping my mind very busy and now I have time to think I am crashing. Anyway it got me thinking about my meds. The Fluoxetine has put about 5 kilos on me.I really don't like this.
4100850 tn?1351212549 ive been on the zoloft 200mg for 2 months and bupropion 75mg twice a day for a month and a half. no psychiatrist yet. my doc says i should see one. also he wont raise my clonazepam dosage even though ive told him sometimes they dont work. my bipolar well i think im becoming more aggressive. sayin mean things without thinking.
Avatar f tn not sure what it is i guess it has alot to do with frame of thinking due to when you are having an anxiety attack...
