Avatar n tn I was taking bupropion for 1 1/2 years and have been off of it for at least a week probably close to 2 weeks. I saw a new doctor who prescribed nortriptyline. After reading the article on this site I was alarmed about the possibility of seizures. Was I off the bupropion long enough before starting the nortriptyline for it not to be a risk?
Cat Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that buproprion can cause a false positive drug test for amphetamines. THC is marijuana. Buproprion is probably not the problem. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
Avatar n tn I had one at the beginning of month (it is regulated by birth control) and after 2 days of being on the new bupropion... I am having what seems to be another period?? Are re-having the side effects of the same drug normal??? Would the drug mess with my cycle?? even though the previous one never did? and it is supposed to be the same thing?
1325668 tn?1294444126 I suppose there must be some research showing it helps people quit smoking, but it seems like taking a drug to quit a drug is a bit odd, especially this one, which can cause anxiety. Stopping nicotine usually makes people nervous, and this can make people more nervous. But what do I know?
Avatar m tn There may be a moderate drug interaction between atenolol and bupropion due to their effect on blood pressure. It is a good idea for you to monitor your blood pressure, especially with your medical history of postural orthostatic condition. For more information, please go to: 1. Bupropion - Medline Plus http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a695033.html 2. Avatar f tn I took Wellbutrin for 20 years, and ended up with drug induced lupus, I know I am very very rare, but I don't know about cirhosis ? Do you have to take an antidepressant , maybe diet, exercise, and once you are cured with new oral treatments allot of the depression goes away, I promise you that I take nothing now and am doing very very good When do you start treatment ?
Avatar f tn I took bupropion for 3 1/2 weeks and developed high blood pressure. I stopped it for 5 days now. Will the blood pressure go back down?
Avatar f tn Well, sometimes it's not a bad idea to get a new look on things by seeing a different psychiatrist. I don't know how far into your education you are, but if it's early in your college stay you're going to need help from time to time. If you're adamant about not seeing another shrink, try setting up a telephone appointment with you doc at home. There could be several things happening. It could be the drugs just aren't working as well anymore.
Avatar m tn I think the drug you seek is Wellbutrin aka Bupropion which is an atypical antidepressant that acts as a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and nicotinic antagonist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bupropion for more info ion this drug.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) to help with no longer using 30 mg Roxicet?
Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
Avatar f tn I'm going to be perscribed Bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban) for ADHD and depression. I smoke pot averagely every day, and I don't know if I should start taking this drug if it is dangerous for me when combining pot and bupropion. I am 17 and 130 lbs if that would help for anything and am taking a dosage of 150 mg of bupropion.
Avatar f tn Other medical/psychiatric conditions I have are hypothyroidism and bi-polar disorder/depression for which I take levothyroxine (Synthroid), divalproex (Depakote) and bupropion (Welbutrin). The medication information for the Medrol dose-pack states cautious use in those with hypothyroidism, psychiatric history, being treated with an anti-convulsant, and on bupropion, as it could produce mood changes and affect the seizure threshold.
Avatar m tn Several years ago, I was put on bupropion. This drug combined with psychotherapy saved me from suicidal depression. I remain on the drug for the long term, given the multiple episodes of depression in my medical history. While it is true that i have always had a relatively strong libido, I wonder if the drug is responsible for a radical increase in my sexual activity. Before the depressive episode, I averaged 2 sexual partners a week. During the depression, I had no sexual partners at all.
Avatar f tn There are noted dose changes for people with liver disease on some of the drugs but overall they are safe. However anyone can react to a drug diffrent than others have, so a follow up blood test is always recommended. I do however know of one drug, Cymbalta, has been flaged by the FDA as not safe for anyone with liver disease. A letter went out by the drug company telling doctors not to treat patients who have liver disease with cymbalta.
1679876 tn?1304743615 As I read in the wikipedia Bupropion (welbrutin) may produce high BP and it is supposed to be used carefully with heart patients. I suggest to read the entry on Advert in RXLIST since it also can increase BP in addition of other issues that may be relevant to you. Is your cardiologist aware of all your medication?
Avatar f tn Changed antidepressants 3 weeks ago from Lexapro to Bupropion Xl 150... Bad insomnia hit this week... up for over 36 hours. They gave me Lunesta 3mg. I have taken 2 nights in a row and sleep well. Then today Pins & needles in arms, legs, feet, and head. should I be looking at thyroid again and not the new meds?
950277 tn?1247274551 I'm on it. It helps me quite a lot with my depression; I get WAY more energy and it helps me not to dwell too much on depressing issues and actually get out and do stuff insead of just lying around staring at the ceiling. I do have trouble sleeping, which Wellbutrin (bupropion) often does with its somewhat "speedy" way of working. It makes some people more anxious as well.
366811 tn?1217422672 You may be aware that an extensive drug database is now online at Medhelp. You get to it simply by typing the name of the drug in the search box. Among the results, you'll see articles and information about the drug. Medhelp, however, thinks that might not be enough, because so many people continue to ask on the forums for info already in the database.
Avatar f tn Hello, Chantix (varenicline) and Zyban (bupropion) are the only two non-nicotine medications approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for smoking cessation; both are available in pill form and only by prescription. Chantix received FDA approval in 2006; Zyban was approved in 1997. These drugs can be effective tools, but users need to be aware of some potentially serious side effects. You can try that and they are very cheap in some pharmacy's.
