wellbutrin

Avatar m tn Dopamine Receptor Agonist - Dostinex (Caborgoline generic). That is what I take for prolactin producing pituitary tumor. Is that what you are looking for?
Avatar n tn I diagnosed myself with a dopamine deficiency. I told the doctor I wanted Wellbutrin. He gave me 450mg to begin (which I knew was high). The strange thing is...I took the Wellbutrin the first day and about 30minutes later, I knew I was under the influence of something. I wasn't as depressed, my negative thoughts were mostly gone, but everything was really hazy. It is like I am living in a dream world. Like, you KNOW you are doped up on this drug...at least with me.
Avatar f tn Very true! Wellbutrin (bupropion) works on the dopamine level! It works for me. I get somewhat "speedy" on it, but I do feel lots of stuff and feel way more energetic and less passive or apathetic than I did on SSRI (I was on Celexa). Talk to your doctor, tell him/ her how you feel (not feel!) and ask about Wellbutrin!
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) to help with no longer using 30 mg Roxicet?
950277 tn?1247274551 I'm on it. It helps me quite a lot with my depression; I get WAY more energy and it helps me not to dwell too much on depressing issues and actually get out and do stuff insead of just lying around staring at the ceiling. I do have trouble sleeping, which Wellbutrin (bupropion) often does with its somewhat "speedy" way of working. It makes some people more anxious as well.
Avatar m tn I've been on bupropion xl 300mg for 7 years and it has truly changed my life. I used to have very severe Seasonal Affective Disorder and social anxiety, both of which have been all but cured with the medication. However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills.
Avatar m tn Depression can and should be treated with over-the-counter soluble magnesium (which blocks the NMDA receptors that create the sensation of depression) and/or bupropion (a dopamine reuptake inhibitor), whereas OCD can and should be treated with the glutamate release inhibitor riluzole. Everything that is currently treated with SRI drugs has an alternative that has superior efficacy.
Avatar f tn Bupropion works by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine; an action that results in more dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine to transmit messages to other nerves. Bupropion is unique and unlike other antidepressants in that its major effect is on dopamine, an effect that is not shared.
Avatar n tn My doctor swiched me from Paxil to Bupropion Sr. last week and He said that thier was no need to ween myself off of the Paxil. So I started the Bupropion Sr at 150mg once a day for 4 days and then was to go on to two a day, Well since I started the drug. I have been very dizzy and if I move my head to fast I feel like a jolt in my vision. I told my doctor and he suggested to stay on the one a day for another week. I also have lost a pound a day since starting the drug.
479459 tn?1246742019 5-htp can be used as an OTC substitute for an SSRI, and L-tyrosine a sub for bupropion but L-tyr only boosts dopamine not norepinephrine, but still helps some. Melatonin can help with sleep. Omega fatty acids especially 3, sunflower lecithin, B-6, B-12, magnesium, vit D3, and Acetyl L-Carnitine with alpha lipoic acid all help with brain zaps and fog. The best help though, has been CBD.
Avatar f tn That's not what this or any other drug does. If you lack dopamine this drug won't work, as it can't inhibit the breakdown of something that isn't there. There is no evidence yet on what or if any chemical imbalance causes mental illness, but the current research is mostly focused as for depression on glutamate, not dopamine, which is much more focused on for psychotic illnesses.
Avatar m tn Yes as we detox the Brain Chems and such and the Body has to adjust back..I have become more tuned into my Body and Mind as the changes went on as time is the Greatest Healer..I am just wondering why you are on Zoloft & Wellbutrin? (Bupropion) One is a Anit-Depressent and the other is not for anxiety but for some depression..The Wellbutrin is also used a lot to help stop smoking..They both hit different receptors. Nursegirl knows a lot about these meds..maybe look them both up on here..
5986700 tn?1380791380 It's possible that the opiates or earlier, the alcohol, was masking an anxiety reaction to the Med. How long have you been on the Bupropion & when did you start experiencing the anxiety? Discontinuing an SSRI & switching to W (if it doesn't work for you) might also cause this. (I had a friend that that happened to). Have you told your Dr. ?
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn I am suffering from I believe depression I have problems sleeping this has recently started wierd thoughts and its very disturbing, I feel said and hopeless my doctor put me on Bupropion and I felt better the first day the next day I eel over active different? Have any one taken Bupropion and whats your reactions?
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
Avatar n tn I have test results showing my dopamine level as low along with epinephrine, norepinephrine, glycine and taurine. What do you suggest as far as supplements?
Avatar m tn Something interesting happened recently that both illustrates this and makes me think dopamine may have something to do with it. First, let me make it clear that I am not a druggie. I've never taken an illegal, recreational drug in my life, not even pot (and I was in high school in the 1980s!) On a couple of occasions, however, I have taken peyote with Native Americans. The reasons for that are another story. The peyote church I attended was in Arizona, several hundred miles from my home.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Avatar m tn It is possible that bupropion (Wellbutrin) may cause your symptoms of tremors and joint pain. Please contact your provider and pharmacist to report the adverse effects and have them confirm by conducting a complete medication review, including prescription, over-the-counter, and any dietary and herbal supplements. Some of the common side effects of bupropion are headaches (26%, compare to 23% of placebo), dry mouth (17%, compare to 7% of placebo), insomnia (11%, compare to 6% of placebo).
20003388 tn?1515166040 Every time I try a medication that has a reuptake effect on norepeneprhine I get this mild burning sensation on the left side of my chest. So far I have had this happen with Atomoxetine, Venlafaxine, Bupropion and now Nortrypytiline. It isn't anxiety, a panic attack or heartburn, just a dull, moderately uncomfortable, burning sensation. I'm fine with all the SSRI's and medications like Rexulti. It's just the ones that affect NE.
