I'm with you. all this trial and error seems to be too much. I read a lot about my scripts too which makes me turn them down or dwell on problems thinking too much about them. With any of these drugs its smart to taper off rather than going cold turkey.
I am on 100 mg of bupropion and was feeling a little anxious. Before taking bupropion, when I felt a little anxious my roommate would give me one of his ativan's, but a full 0.5 would make me sleepy…so I cut it down to 0.25 which worked nicely. I have started to do that with the bupropion…is that ok?
Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.
My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
But the wellbutron (bupropion) as my Dr. and I figured out was making me feel so much worse. Really bad anxiety like I can't even describe, and constant crying.
It just kept getting worsr when I thought it was just me and that the bupr. would take some time to take effect. So she upped my dosage and 2 days later I caled her and went back in. That's when I stopped the burpro. immidiatly and she put me on celexa and klonopin for the anxiety.
Luckily, my tremors went away but I am nauseated and have hot and cold sweats. I have been off of it for about 3 months and the side effects have still not subsided. On top of that, I feel hungry all the time but food doesn't go down due to the nausea. I am very thin by nature but now I look like I am anorexic. I want to eat but cannot. I do my best by getting soup down, mostly the broth.
t think it was the medicine-which did wonders for my depression. I started counseling and have been re-learning coping skills, stress management, etc. It helps sometimes but other times my anxiety/emotionality(comes 2nd) is horrific & I cannot get a grip on it-even with some Ativan and all of the coping skills I've learned so far.
(they wont pay for my prescriptions if i dont which is over $200) I started taking the mail order pharmacies bupropion for about 2 weeks same dosage and name... pills look different though. (I assume they are just from another manufacturer) Since i have been taking them I have been getting bad headaches, a MAJOR loss of appetite, Im tired and irritable and I had a mini anxiety attack last night over nothing. The weirdest thing has been the fact that I am getting my period again.
With me the Celexa just killed my libido and had no desire for anything. My doctor then weaned me off the Celexa and put me on the Bupropion XL. He started me for 7 days on 150 mg and then went to 300 mg. Everyone is different but the Bupropion gave me back my libido and still keeps my depression in check. I do recall my doctor saying the Bupropion can take a few weeks to get the full effect since I had already been on the Celexa.
I was taking Bupropion and Lamictal, and switched to Effexor. I have been on Effxor for three weeks. I have had the worst fatigue I have ever felt. So now I am unsure if it was coming off the Lamictal or if it was the Effexor. I am going to stop the Effexor, but I don't know if I should go back on just the Lamictal, The lamictal When I first started taking it, up to 200 mg worked fairly well.
I guess my question is, is , has this kind of fatigue been know to be a side effect with Effexor?
Vit C morning and afternoon, Echinacea 3x a day, honey, ginger n lemon tea, boil some chicken bones in a pot of water with carrot, celery, onion and a splash of vinegar for 24 hours then strain and drink a cup 2-3 times a day. These all work WAY quicker for me to relieve and cure a cold than any medicine I've found.
If it's allergy related you can take Claritin... Or however it is spelled. If it's cold related really you can only take Tylenol cold and flu. Web MD has a list... Here is the link
