suboxone

Avatar m tn Per Center for Substance Abuse Treatment or CSAT, the length of time for buprenorphine maintenance therapy may be indefinite for most patients and is highly individualized. Manufacture prescription drug label states that Suboxone, either sublingual tablets or film, should not be "cut, crush, break, chew or swallow ". Thus, it is a great idea for you to seek assistance from specialty compounding pharmacies with dosage customization.
Avatar m tn I would suggest using the physician locator service on the National Alliance and Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment. You can find it at www.NAABT.ORG Good luck, I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn The 1st one is to the Samhsa Website. They have Treatment Program locator. And the 2nd is to ODR. Just post your question on their subs forum, I'm sure someone over there can help. Here's the links: http://buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/bwns_locator/ http://www.heroin-detox.
Avatar f tn t know of any free ones, unless medicaid covers it. But there are Buprenorphine treatment centers that will get you started for less than $100. What makes you think you need a subs treatment? It really isn't something you'd want for a problem that isn't that severe. Subs themselves are a very strong opiate, and withdrawals from that stuff aren't pleasant either. You'd want to be careful that you aren't trading a smaller problem for a larger one.
199177 tn?1490498534 In October 2002, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved two buprenorphine products (Suboxone® and Subutex®) for the treatment of narcotic addiction. Both products are high dose (2 mg and 8 mg) sublingual (under the tongue) tablets: Subutex® is a single entity buprenorphine product and Suboxone® is a combination product with buprenorphine and naloxone in a 4:1 ratio, respectively.
1476285 tn?1287337784 I am interested in info from anyone doing the new 3-drug regime w/ interferon, ribavirin and telaprevir who are also taking suboxone. I am currently on suboxone: 3/5's to 1/2 tab per day. I wasn't put on it for drug abuse but I was on pain meds (lortab & fentenayl patch) for chronic pain. I went on suboxone to get off the pain mgmt regime.
Avatar m tn How can I get rid of buprenorphine? I've been on it for the last twelve years. I've tried tapering, but whether I take 16 or 2 mgs, the withdrawal is just as bad... Thank you for your answers.
179856 tn?1333547362 Anagnostou and colleagues evaluate HCV treatment outcomes among IV drug users receiving opioid substitution treatment with methadone or buprenorphine at 4 government-funded clinics between 2002 and 2008. The analysis involved 93 IV drug users with HCV infection who started combination treatment with pegylated interferon alfa-2a or -2b and ribavirin while on methadone or buprenorphine. Forty-six (48.4%) patients were on methadone, and 49 (51.6%) were on buprenorphine. Of the total, 77 (82.
Avatar n tn Subutex and Suboxone are the brand names under which buprenorphine is being marketed for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medications contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence. Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride which was developed as the initial product. The second medication, Suboxone contains an additional ingredient called Naloxone to guard against misuse or abuse.
Avatar f tn I am in medical hospital and they want me to detox off methadone with help of buprenorphine does anyone know about this drug or used it . I am scared and need feedback ASAP.
Avatar m tn gov Hepatotoxicity Buprenorphine therapy has not been associated with serum enzyme elevations during treatment, although the populations studied (opioid addiction) often have coexisting chronic liver diseases which complicate such assessments. Nevertheless, rates of ALT elevations during treatment with buprenorphine (with or without naloxone) have been no greater than with comparator arms (methadone).
Avatar m tn You will find my opinion here and there, so my comments will be more educational than suggestive. Is it an Opiate? It depends on the definition of 'opiate'; it is not structurally related to opium, the definition of opiates that some people use-- for example heroin, codeine, and morphine are 'opiates' by that definition, but fentanyl and buprenorphine are not.
Avatar m tn why cant i stay off the methadone for 3 days and than get a script for buprenorphine generic .and start my treatment detox at home. i do have a gp doctor.and i think he can do the buprenorphine program.
Avatar f tn I have a solution for you. I think that your problem is hemosiderin staining--your skin has been stained by your blood. I had the same problem from a black eye I got from having eye surgery. Try googling "hemosiderin staining candela laser" to locate a small study showing that an AlexTriVantage laser can remove this type of discoloration. I used the doctor locator feature on the website to find a dermatologist in my area.
Avatar f tn We present a case of a young multisystem trauma patient in whom adequate analgesia could not be achieved due to buprenorphine treatment before and through the early course of admission. Discontinuation of buprenorphine allowed for appropriate pain management and successful analgesia. Further education of acute care clinicians about buprenorphine pharmacology and careful selection of patients for buprenorphine maintenance therapy are needed to avoid delays of pain control in trauma patients.
Avatar f tn Suboxone is the brand name for a medication consisting of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is a thebaine derivative with powerful analgesia approximately 20-40x more potent than morphine. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist and antagonist of the opioid receptors in the central nervous system which means that when its molecule binds to a receptor, it will transduce only a partial response in contrast to a full agonist such as morphine.
3177469 tn?1344454268 Hi Idyllic, Thanks for a great answer. My source is the medication guide that came with the Victrellis. At the bottom of the page it states: Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your therapy more closely if you take Victrellis with the following medications: alprazolam, amiodarone, atorvastatin, bepridil, bosentan, budesonide, buprenorphine, cyclosporine, desipramine, digoxin. It doesn't mention methadone. Makes me wonder if treatment is harder with buprenorphine.
Avatar f tn The general belief of the treatment industry seems to be that buprenorphine does lessen the severity of withdrawal, but I am not convinced that it does that. I am an advocate of using buprenorphine for longer periods of time than for simple detox. My reason for that stance is that the vast majority of those who use it short-term end up using agonists again-- usually fairly rapidly.
Avatar n tn How are you holding up? Sorry about the late response, it seems every flight I have worked this week has been delayed! At any rate, lets see if I can help you out here. Buprenorphine is such a unique and often misunderstood drug. The reason being it has multiple methods of action, and some contradict the others.

Avatar f tn Husband has hep c and has decided to start treatment after he is ok by clinical Pharmacist. The doc said that she makes the decision of whether or not he is good candidate My question is many people at methadone clinics have hep c and continue their methadone treatment saying that it helps. Is this proven medical fact?? Will dr write for meds like methadone to help a patient going through hepatitis C treatment or is this for the Methadone clinics only that you go to and pay?
