Avatar f tn Hyperkeratosis Pilaris is otherwise known as "Chicken Skin" because it resembles the skin of a plucked chicken with little bumps like goosebumps all over. it's a common condition. there is no cure but treatments of different lotions and creams. folliculitis is inflamation of the folicules. When a person stands or sits the blood flow in the legs changes. similar to the experience of women during pregnancy who have pain while standing.
Avatar n tn it is around the right side of my waist and travels to my thigh. It is red just like a sunburn but has no raised bumps. I have not added any medication or different food. Please help.

566950 tn?1216662003 Hives are an itchy skin rash -- red, raised bumps with a paler center - triggered by an irritant. They can appear anywhere on the body and can vary in size. Hives, also known as urticaria or wheals, can pop up in one area, fade, and appear in a totally different place within a matter of hours. An episode of hives can be over in a few hours, but most take about 48 hours to completely disappear. Some stubborn cases may even last a few weeks.
Avatar n tn An antihistamine can usually relieve the condition. The peeling of the skin after a sunburn is a normal reaction of the skin replacing itself. The rash could also be a part of the sunburn. The most important aspect of sunburn care is to avoid exposure to the sun while healing and to take precautions to prevent future burns. The best treatment for most sunburns is time. Given a few weeks, they will heal.
Avatar n tn The rash has also spread to include my upper right arm, and smaller similar bumps down my arm, and a patch on my left arm. All of these came on quite suddenly. My right arm is the most uncomfortable as it itches constantly, while my knees don't really itch, they to have a discomfort from the swelling.
Avatar m tn I wrote it off as just normal wear and tear from work apron rubbing me the wrong way or somehting right? It honestly felt like a sunburn on my inner thighs and my pants rubbing it wrong. Its May and I am at 8,000 feet its not exactly tanning weather nor have I been tanning in over a year. I also have not had sex in over a year and half either so I doubt its an STD, but....who knows with those things. I am 35 I just moved across the country for a summer seasonal job.
Avatar n tn This is not surprising since you mentioned that you are fair, and that implies you have less melanin in your skin to protect you from the sun. The only way forward for you is to protect yourself as much as possible. protective clothing and sunscreen lotions are the best help. Tanning in the sun would actually expose you to a lot of sun and if there are any areas which get undue exposure, you may get sun burns again.
Avatar f tn Okay, so I was on Acutane this past summer (2007) and was out in the sun a little to long (probably way to long) and got a really bad sunburn on my chest. The burn was awful and itched terribly, I also had an itchy rash on my chest from this burn. To treat the itchiness I used cortizone cream and applied a lot of aloe to ease the burn. The burn eventually went away however I still have tiny bumps on my chest that itch sometimes. What does this mean? Is it skin cancer? It's freaking me out!
Avatar f tn I recently moved to a very warm state, and even though I've always had naturally rosy cheeks, I've recently been getting small bumps on my cheeks. I'm wondering if this is due to sunburn. What should I do in order to make the bumps go away?
Avatar f tn I would also advise you to stop using any type of preparation on your skin and stay away from tanning until the condition has cleared. Regards ....
Avatar m tn I have sensitive skin and i sunburn easily and all that kind of stuff. I don't have much acne nor do I have huge breakouts anymore. Maybe a few new pimples every 2-3 weeks, nothing huge. Also my cheek area and forehead are always kind of red, mostly the cheek area. But the big problem right now is whenever I sweat my face becomes inflamed and it looks like I have some sort of rash of my face. All these little red bumps appear from no where and my face has a burning feeling to it.
Avatar n tn On some websites it says it's good to keep it on for 12 to 24 hours, but it depends on the person. The selenium sulfide can cause burning sensations on the skin if left on for too long which hapenned to me in the middle of the night when I applied it over my body before I went to sleep.
Avatar n tn I went to Collins lake last Sunday and a day later I had small bumps on a patch of skin on my cheek. It itches and is/gets really red... So if ANYONE knows what it could be and how to get rid of it FAST please let me know. I was swimming for a few hours. No shade but no sunburn on face. And I normally get sunburn. Then my friends and I walked around. I don't recall touching a tree but I do recall sitting on the ground. So yeah I don't know what to do...
Avatar m tn It's like a sunburn rash-feels like nerve endings tingling/burning. Have had some small bumps between ring and little finger for about three days-they started itching pretty bad today. It has all gotten MUCH worse within the last eight hours.
Avatar m tn It first turned red and was itchy, then the skin seemed to dry and it looked as if i had a bad sunburn on my penis head. This dry skin went away however now i have foun a large bump on the rim of my penis head that is not causing serious discomfort but is not appealing. Another blister looking bump appeared and i can tell that there is three in total on my head and one bump on ahaft (smaller and red) If anyone can help me diagnose this it would be very helpful.
Avatar n tn My thumbs are the worst to peal but most my fingers will peal off on the sides and bottom but no skin peals on the top. Some skin will peal off the palm of my hand but not much. Luckily for me nothing peals off my feet. I have tried anti-fungals and no help either. I hope someone can figure this out. It goes on for about a month for me before it gets better. I would love to get rid of it once and for all.
Avatar n tn I have small red bumps that turn white and then peel on my feet and hands. Often I will get 2 or 3 on the ball or arch of the foot also. There is no itching or soreness except a tenderness from the skin exposed by the peeling.. The bumps I could live with but as they peel outward from the center it can extend over the entire sides and bottom of my toes. .....I cannot find any explanation for what causes this.
Avatar n tn My husband has also been diagnosed with Addisons disease, and he has the dark red appearing skin on his neck. It also sometimes appears to have little bumps, like "chicken skin", but it does not ever itch. When he first saw his Dr., the Dr. said, "Hmm, I think we may need to check you for adrenal insufficiency"; with the Dr. saying that the dark red or "tan" appearing skin can be a sign/symptom of adrenal insufficiency.
Avatar n tn A person may also develop bloodbloodblood blisters after being scalded or burned, including from sunburn. Blood blisters can also develop in response to allergic irritants, viral skin infections, and fungal skin infections. ref:http://www.wisegeek.com/what-causes-blood-blisters.htm If the blister breaks, quickly rinse the area and apply an antiseptic such as neosporin. It is not recommended to break a blister because it may lead to infection.Otherrwise no treatment is required.
149918 tn?1208132344 This stared in the middle of my chest, now on both brest down on my torso, it looks like a sunburn, and it itches on and off. But it is the round spots that that are growing in number as we speak, looks like ring worm just very dry spots. I go at 3, I will post back.
Avatar n tn itchy bumps on outer elbows, skin-colored small bumps on sides of fingers. I visited a dermatologist who recommended anti-histamines which had some positive effect. The bumps on the sides of the fingers seem to be triggered by summer heat. But they also increase in number whenever my elbows become more effected and itchy.
926790 tn?1244063910 But most noticeable would be my groin area. Little bumps skin on head turn dry and peel off. No discharge whatsoever, but whole genitals is always "clammy". I only used old spice for about 4 days. Last three days I'm back to my usual bodywash. Skin is doing a lot better right away for the most part but still having problems DowN there. Thinking back i never discarded my "scrungie" I use to lather up my bodywash.
Avatar m tn I met with my doctor but he wasn't really able to give me any info on the matter. I'm figuring that oftentimes people complain of their skin looking sunburned and that as a Black woman who is rather brown that the darkening is similar to what would be considered sunburn but I am not sure.
Avatar n tn I have these pimple like bumps on my legs (from ankles to groin area (not genitals) and upper arms. I have tried everything for them. I first got them about ten years ago and they get worse if I don't shave. They never go away and most of the time I have noticed small blonde hairs in them. The hair on my legs is dark. I hope you can help.
Avatar n tn I've had these same itchy bumps on my ankles off and on for the last 6 months or so, some times they itch and sometimes they don't. I work in a shop 9hrs a day with no climate controls, and I wear leather work boots with tall socks. I think it has something to do with dampness being held by the sock around your foot or ankle, however that dosent cover the people who were in sandals.
Avatar n tn For about two weeks now, my chest region and my back direcly behind my chest feels like its on fire. It feels like a sunburn, and is extremly more sensitive to the touch. I can feel my shirt brushing up against my chest and back area and that is even painfull. I have NO visable rash, redness, bumps.. nothing.. My doctors don't even really know what to say. Since there isnt a visable rash, or redness or anything I'm not even sure they really believe me. It is very irratating.
Avatar n tn If you're on treatment let them know as all kinds of skin conditions worsen on tx including psoriasis. I believe absorbase is a mild cortisoid and may not be strong enough. I'm using stronger topicals for my psoriasis one to two days a week and then Elidel the rest of the time. But my condition may be different from yours. Also, try shaving with a hypoallengenic cream. I found a good electric razor was the least irritating to me especially if used twice a day.
