I have small bumps on my scalp that sometimes itch and when I scratch them not thinking they are there they really hurt. Then they scab up then come back and scab up again. They are on the top left of my scalp and around the nap of my neck. What are they?

I started getting hard bumps on my scalp several years ago. The feel like really hard scabs and are painful to the touch. They are about the circumfrence of the tip of my index finger. I have picked the scab off before and it leaves a shallow hole in my scalp, but doesn't really bleed. There is some sort of clear liquid that does not smell. When the skin grows back I have a small bald spot for a bit until my hair grows back.

If I dont use any type of bump shampoo they can become inflamed more and spread. SeBex, a shampoo for types of scalp bumps has been helpful keeping it in control but the bumps still remain visible. I have picture on my profile that show the texture and appearance of the scalp bumps.
