Avatar n tn I took her to my tanning place and they have a Aesthetician working there i asked her about them ,they were so bad on her face .She is 12 almost thirteen. She would put makeup on them to cover them.Anyway i asked her if this would help her she said yes.So i took her in a week and half ago what a difference the first night all she did was a peel on her and gave her this face wash ,to use after a week or so see how peel works.
Avatar n tn I took my 2 year old to the dermatoligist due to the bumps, reddness and ruff texture on her arms and face. The doctor told me She had Keratosis Pilaris, and other than mild soaps, and lotions, she said there was nothing to really due. I've been bathing her in Ivory soap and using Cetaphil lotion. Her face looks better, but her arms and hands look worse, and her fingers and elbows look kind of spotted, from a distance they look like litte warts, but the skin isn't raised or anything.
Avatar n tn i have had this problem with red bumps and what looks like ingrown hairs all over my body. its not very common on my arms, neck, back and face though. in fact i hardly ever get on my arms neck and face. but its all over my legs and torso and rarely on my back.ive had this problem ever since i can remember, i think it started in highschool. then also there is the question of why i dont tan. i dont understand it. i wear shorts ALL the time and i never get darker.
Avatar f tn i have really tiny bumps on both of my upper arms up to my shoulder. i have had these all of my life. they are tiny and they are red. if i rub my hand over my arm i can feel tons of them, but you cant really see them extremely noticeably. they dont itch or hurt, but they are just there and i dont like them. i am 15 years old and i hardly ever get acne. so they definetly are not zits, and it isnt a rash. does anybody no any creams or should i go to a dermatologist?
Avatar n tn Hello, You have not mentioned your age but for such a patch, actinic keratosis and basal cell carcinoma needs to be ruled out. Actinic keratosis appears as rough, red bumps on the scalp, face, ears etc and may invade deeper in the skin to become a fully-developed squamous cell carcinoma. Hence this lesion can be a squamous cell carcinoma. You need to get this examined and biopsied from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.

Avatar m tn I have bumps on arms that are similar to pimples. Can not be popped I've tried scratching them off but nothing really works some around back as well. Dad has it too and his sister does as well mostly on arms.
Avatar f tn My son is covered in bumps on his arms, back, neck and face but we believe that it's a reaction to Midodrine. His doctor isn't concerned.
Avatar m tn Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but it can be solar keratosis (small rough or scaly areas of skin due to damage from sun exposure), Dermatosis papulosa nigra (firm, smooth, raised, dark brown to black bumps occur on the face and upper trunk;usually runs in families) , seborrheis keratosis (small lumps due to a thickening of an area of the top skin layer) ,syringoma (bumps caused due to overgrowth of cells),moles or freckles.
Avatar n tn Keratosis pilaris (KP, also follicular keratosis) is a very common genetic follicular condition that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and hence colloquially referred to as "chicken skin" as well as "meat bumps". It most often appears on the back and outer sides of the upper arms. Keratosis pilaris occurs as excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin, accumulates within the hair follicles forming hard plugs (process known as hyperkeratinization).
Avatar n tn I got a pimple on my nose around a month or so ago, and the pimple then turned into a large red raised bump. The white head is no longer there and it looks like a couple of red raised bumps together into one. It doesnt hurt and nothing comes out of it or whatever. I wash my face and put acne medicine on it almost every night, and no matter what I do, it will not go away!
Avatar n tn Sounds kind of like what I have, which is keratosis pilaris.
Avatar n tn HI, This could be keratosis pilaris.Keratosis pilaris (KP, also follicular keratosis) is a very common genetic follicular condition that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and hence colloquially referred to as "chicken skin" as well as "meat bumps". Avatar m tn A bit of a background, I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms and I know that it can occur on the face as well, but these are not the same kind of bumps whatsoever. Other than that, I have pretty normal skin, with the occasion pimple showing up but never severe acne of any sort. I also don't think it's an allergy of any sort, since it has been happening for several years and I've changed face products and whatnot over that time.
Avatar n tn I also have this and even though I am not totally sure what the exact cure is there are some things that help me. I like to rub green tea on my face, it makes my face tight and it smoothens it out. The redness doesn't go away but it calms down. I also stay away from hot foods. washing my face with body wash helps because it tightens my face which reduces the redness a little.
Avatar n tn Hi. This could be KP aka Keratosis Pilaris. The bumps on arms and legs resemble goosebumps, sometimes they are hard and slightly red. There are websites so you can learn more...Hope this helps. Here is one website that may be helpful. http://www.keratosis-pilaris.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I have tiny red bumps all over my legs, see the picture for what they look like. They aren't itchy, and they aren't from shaving because I assumed they were so I stopped shaving my legs for two weeks, but they continued to be there. I also have dry, slightly darker colored patches on the behind of my inner ankles, I have no idea of that correlates with my red bumps, but I've been concerned about those too.
Avatar m tn i don't think that it is rosacea because i don't have the bumps on my face, just the redness, but in addition i also have these bumps on my arms the dermatologist told me that this was keratosis pilaris. I have heard that there is no cure for rosacea, but is there a cure for keratosis pilaris?
Avatar n tn I thought I had Keratosis Pilaris on the back of my arms (both) and also some tiny bumps on my chest, however I went to my doctor and he told me it was Folliculitis, dry skin. Said to apply baby oil after showering etc.... Well these bumps don't itch at all, really doesn't bother me, and doing some research I found that most people say Folliculitis is itchy? Mine doesnt itch at all, and looking at photos it looks more like KP than anything.

Avatar f tn I do have ruddy complexion and a little Rosacea flushing in central face area but no bumps like shown in textbooks. Using multiple dandruf shampoos in case of Seb Derm but don't think that's it either. Rash is on outer cheeks, not up against nose like classic Seb Derm. I'm thinking AK but trying to avoid another biopsy with more vague results. I ordered an ANA test on my own that came back negative.
Avatar f tn They still only really itch when irritated and bothered and still just randomly pop up on the back of my arms and elbows and sometimes my thigh and now on occasion my leg. When the bumps are on my thigh and leg its very few bumps just scattered, unlike on my arms where its a lot. Now sometimes the bumps will disappear the next day or sometimes last a few days.

Avatar n tn Hi There are several types of keratosis pilaris and the lesions usually depend on the type. In your case, this may be keratosis pilaris alba. The skin may have some whitish bumps and may present with a sand papery feel. Scratching the area may lead to some discoloration or hyperpigmentation. An overlying dermatitis or fungal infection may also heighten itchiness. I suggest that you ask your physician about the right type of exfoliant here.
