Avatar m tn I got two tick bites one on the side of my hip and one on my back......I removed the ticks with tweezers now however I didn't analyze the ticks because I hate them first thing and everytime I get home from my two weeks from the army I get them out in the woods..... the one of my hip has healed but the back has a raised bump here is the picture....now there's no ring that suggests lyme or I didn't experience lyme symptoms....
Avatar m tn I came home at midnight and itched my left oblique side and noticed a bump. I looked and there was a tick. I removed the tick as best i could by the head. The tick is an American Dog Tick (female). She was not very large or rounded so she was not really fully engorged to my estimates. I'm worried about Lyme or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF). So all and all the tick was on me for around 10 hours. Please help...
Avatar n tn I had one spot that sounds the same as your discription - the black centre - mine was very close to 'tick bite' site - it was many months after the bite - before I had antibiotics - and it did eventually have some 'puss' in it - it took weeks to start to clear-up - but even now - there is still a red/purpleish mark there.
Avatar n tn But then rationally I think, what are the chances that a herpes bump shows up a day or two after I get bit by a tick in the exact same spot coupled with the neg test after about 4 months. I'm hoping a little more rationality on your part will help me. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Within minutes I got this rash which after few hours turned into bulls-eye rash.I visited the doctor after 25 hrs of bite, who put me on Doxycycline antibiotic. I read somewhere : "The risk of developing Lyme disease after being bitten by a tick is only about 1% to 3%. On top of that, it takes at least 24 to 48 hours for the tick to transmit the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. " The tick was on me for maybe 1 hr or may be max 4 hrs. before I noticed it and removed it completely.
404715 tn?1233829631 I was not put on antibiotics untill a month after the bite and I was only on them for two weeks. My family doctor did a blood test and told me I did not have lyme disease due to the fact the blood test came back negative. I have been sick since the bite with many symptoms of lyme disease and as time goes on I am getting sicker. I have many symptoms and I seem to be coming down with more of them.I feel I am falling apart physically & mentally.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be an insect bite, contact dermatitis, boil or tick bite. Wash the bites with some antiseptic lotion or soap. Use cold water but avoid the use of warm or hot water as this may tend to stimulate itch. Secondly, apply a cold pack over the bites to reduce swelling. Please do not scratch the inflamed area as this may lead to open wounds and secondary infections.
Avatar f tn I am very paranoid, and I had no symptoms for the syphilis, BUT, I do remember a small tick biting me in 7eleven about 3 weeks ago. I was about to pay when I felt a small bite on my upper arm(shoulder). I remember seeing an insect which was about 3-4mm big. I also remember that its backside was inflated like a blister filled with blood and I just flicked it off. Is this the kind that causes Lyme disease. I've read on the internet that it takes about 36 hours of attachment to get infected.
Avatar f tn I pulled it off without taking precautions. The region around it is now inflamed. There is also a bump where the tick was. Is this normal? Should I see a doctor?
Avatar f tn I pulled a tick off my husband about 2 days ago. Today you can see where the tick was. Around the area where the tick bit him is red and underneath his skin it is very hard to the touch. He said it itches. I have looked on the internet, I know about the red bullseye rash but it does not look like that. I'm just wondering if we should be concerned. He feels okay right now.
Avatar m tn Around the same time this started, I had been bit by a tick which caused some sort of allergic reaction around the site of the bite. I never had this bad of a reaction to tick bite before. I've been bit about 3 or 4 times in the last couple years but never this bad. I thought at first it was lyme disease since it kind of made a bullseye pattern but the docs didn't think so. They wouldn't even test me.
Avatar n tn It could just be a bite that has got infected so put some anti biotic cream on the area and see if it helps ,of course if it doesnt help and it gets worse I think you should go and get it checked out ..
Avatar f tn it is often caused by tick bite and can cause bull’s eye pattern of rash. I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist and get it evaluated. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn m not sure if it was a tick, etc. Anyway, after that I noticed there was a bump where the bug was removed. The bump remained for a few days, and slowly disappeared however a dark spot still remains there. Now a few more raised bumps have been developing near that area on my upper back and shoulders, I even found one on the side of my neck. When I pick at them they sometimes flake in the center and are surrounded by a darker section. Any idea what this is?
3102976 tn?1341333138 t really been able to separate it to see the color of the bump. At first, I thought that it could be a tick (it would be about the size of a medium tick), but I tried pulling it a bit and she showed signs of discomfort so i stopped. I have no idea what it can be and was hoping for any information at all as to the different possibilities of what it could be.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms it looks like an arthropod bite but it is important to rule out any tick bite fever and lesihmaniasis as well because Mexico is endemic for both tick bite fever causing Lyme’s disease as well as leishmaniasis. The symptoms of leishmaniasis are skin sores which erupt weeks to months after the person affected is bitten by sand flies.
Avatar n tn My opinion, after being infected with Lyme Disease and recently have an ECM from a tick bite. It is hard to find a doctor that knows the symptoms of Borellea bergdorfii, but it is very serious. Look for Lyme Forums on this site and look for online information in a hurry. Again, this is just my opinion. More...I "believe", but I am not a doctor (a disclaimer), you have early stage Lyme and the sooner you get antibiotics the better.
237053 tn?1258828426 I was curious how many people here diagnosed with Lymes remember having a tick bite. I've heard that many people don't recall being bit and still have Lymes. That would be me. I haven't been dx'd yet, but don't recall being bit. I've had several crawlers on me in the past few years though. I also had a few stuck to me when I was little, but that was a long time ago.
Avatar n tn I got sick about 2 weeks or so after being bitten by a deer tick, I had severe headaches, ear infections , palpitations and fatigue so severe I could barely work, I thought I was anemic , I was travelling to the US around this time from UK and even when I got here I had terrible back and hip pains,I remebered the tick bite and had a test done it was Normal as have been others since, 20 years later I am still fighting for a diagnosis ...just to be able to get onto the right anti biotics ..
Avatar n tn Could it be something of a spider bite or a bite from a tick? Only reason I ask is because sometimes some symptoms can come from the site of an insect bite especially with what season it is now. Have someone (maybe a general doctor) have a look at it. If it doesn't appear to be a bite, again, have a doctor check it out. Could be as simple as a little cyst that pops up until your body absorbs it again.
