Bump after botox

Common Questions and Answers about Bump after botox

572651 tn?1531002957 I had botox for my bladder last week. I can tell you it has made a huge difference already. The procedure was done as an out-patient and took about 45 minutes. I was in recovery from the general anesthesia for about an hour. For the procedure, they flush the bladder and fill it with a topical anesthesia. Then they drain it again and do the injections. The standard for a neurogenic bladder is 200 units of Botox – about 30 injections into the bladder wall.
Avatar n tn I can feel a bump but you can't really see the bump. Just the swelling likea bump is underneth and when i sqeeze nothng comes out it just hurt then i start to see my meat then it becomes a sore/scab only on my skin where my pubic hairs at. like 1-2 bumps come and then it will sting become a hurtful sore cause i pick w/them. none!
Avatar f tn The only thing that works for me is to sip on hot water throughout the day. After trying nifedipine cream for a month, I went for Botox which seemed to improve things quite a bit, but then I had to travel. I hate airplanes as they constipate me and that resulted in another tear. So after much deliberation, I went into surgery on 4/8 in San Francisco. Its been exactly 2.5 days since surgery and it has been quite painful.

Avatar m tn She didnt specifically say it was an Osteoma but in report she listed it. Went to Neurologist Monday and he said all he recommends to do is shoot me with Botox to stop the headaches and pressure. Which he did and hasnt kicked in yet as he said it would take up to 2 weeks for full effects. Guess thats fine just have bump still above eye. I had one of the main doctors i know at ENT take look at file.
Avatar n tn After septorhinoplasty forehead was severely swollen, could'nt move right eyebrow. Months later, forehead became very tight, couldn't wrinkle it. Osteotomy performed rasped my left browbone. Began getting severe pains in forehead. Glabella muscle in forehead appeared and was swollen, but now can move eyebrows. Muscle spasms began between eyebrows, botox was administered to stop spasms, spasms stopped.Forehead is no longer tight but very loose, muscle fell.
Avatar n tn If the stretching doesn't help, he suggested trying Botox into the lump and then steroids if that doesn't help. I'm not comfortable with Botox from what I have read. The side effects appear much worse - any thoughts there? How about the steroids? The thought is that it's a tense muscle and they want to try and relax it - assuming it's not scar tissue. I can't imagine it is scar tissue as the bump/lump is soft and pliable. I have also recently tried acupuncture.
3197167 tn?1348972206 stopped doing that; (this was about 4 yrs ago) and then she maintained ok after that for quite some time. Now, she has no control at all. She knows her "researcher hat" sister (me...lol) very well....and feels like she can talk to me about anything so called in desperation last night to see if I could learn of anything that might help. Some history.....in the last year or so....lots more frequent UTI's.....but still able to live comfortably thru the day without too many accidents.
1415174 tn?1453246703 Guess it could be piriformis syndrome. I just read something about it and it mentioned the use of botox. Seems like you have tried everything else and all that ibuprofen...going to wreak havoc on your stomach. It is the only thing I have found that really takes away my sciatic pain (L4/L5 disc bulge) but I try to use it sparingly. I have been trying to strengthen my core muscles. The exercise is supposed to be good so you have to keep up with that. Sorry I don't have an answer for you.
Avatar n tn read some of the recent posts about people that had cataract surgery and no problems and now have trouble for one reason or the other after surgery. Wait until you consider you vision a moderate or big problem and you have been assured that the main reason is cataracts. There are some very aggressive cataract surgeons out there.
620923 tn?1452919248 the others many factors involved with testing for other chiari related conditions, the unknown outcome following surgery. Also the really frightening symptoms, ' how after dealing with acceptance of this.,how many of us feel so alone & have to hunt for Dr's who can even help !!! After mine being triggered following a car accident, also felt like mourning my active lifestyle prior ;0( think that covers my biggest concerns following diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I started in July 07, after an injection of botox to the bladder that was supposed to fix my incontinence worked so well that now I can't pee on my own. Ha! ("laugh to keep from crying" -- the MS motto).
3123787 tn?1384184287 , BUT, i do remember her talking about botox injections, after she had observed my occlusions or cuppling of the eye.(no one had told me i suffered a stroke/anuerism.(i thought it was just a really bad cluster headache because i was having multible attacks in my sleep, or when ever i got tired. After like 9 of them(same times, 1-2 times a day) i realized maybe these were not cluster headaches, only because i was lucky enough to vomit, & swelling would go away in my ankles!
372416 tn?1242669352 The side effects, like sleepiness, usually go away after you've been on it a while. Your doctor will bump up your dose slowly if that's what is neeed. The worst side effect for me has been the weight gain....that being said, it's worth it if I feel better, and I do. It's not the total answer for me though, as I needed a combination of things to make me as comfortable as I am now.
Avatar f tn Sitting upright kilks my back and neck so im in bed for 2.5 days after each 2 hours. The pain clinic does not even know this. Will it help to print iut that the government now gets that reducing my meds, which i take 1 or 2 when i wake in the middle of the nightwith my headache. My last nurse told me to chew them for faster relief. That would leave me with 1 for the whole day. What could be their problem changing me to norco instead?
241234 tn?1220984156 I was also told this. Not sure how true it is, maybe it is matter of control or something else. As far as my arm is concerned, I am opposite. I was unable to work on my upper arm for 8 months due to a spastic shoulder, so I worked on my wrist and hand instead. I've had a great deal of success with them. Since botox & nerve blocks for my shoulder in August I am now also doing a lot of work on my upper arm, as well as continuing on my wrist & fingers. So - YMMV.
Avatar m tn It was a spider type insect. They thought it was lice at first too. After seeing a bump on her head move they lanced it to find this spider like insect on her head. Another reason for this to occur is due to tight braiding, and over-use of hot oils on the hair. Sometimes men ( or women ) who wear hats on a constant basis can have something like this happen. People with curly or wavy hair sometimes have a problem like this.
Avatar f tn I think a CT scan of head will definitely help in ruling out such sinister problems which can happen after a traumatic brain injury. Please also get a neurosurgeon opinion for the same. http://www.braininjury.com/epidural-subdural-hematoma.html Pl keep me posted.
198419 tn?1360245956 I take Baclafen and Zanaflex daily as well as Botox shots in my leg every 3 months. I work out daily and go to physical therapy for an hour each week. All of these things help but the spasticity in my left leg stil gets so stiff at times that I can hardly walk :( If you can find any info on other treatments that would help, I sure would appreciate it!
Avatar n tn ive had the same thing since i was about 13, i live in the UK so i can get meds, but they always seem to prescribe amoxycillin (4times a day 3hours after food) they work after things get bad after summer - but never completely erradicate them, and the bumps/spots/boils always come back in full swing soon enough.
Avatar n tn After making a trip to Africa I slept in a bed that had like sand on it. Now I have sand-like particles and sometimes like large salt crystals (3mm) coming out of my skin. Sometimes it is like white particles. I have about 200 of these coming out of my skin every day, all parts of the body but particularly Skalp, hands, tips of fingers and under rings, soles of feet, behind, back. I have non-healing pimple-like lesions on my thigh, chest, arm and neck made by the salt crystals.
Avatar f tn I had some steroids about two weeks ago and am wondering what other people's experiences are of them and when these kick in as I felt no different immediately after taking them except my sleep was more disturbed but am beginning to feel better now Also been put on amitriptyline and gabapentin to help with tingling (but still not under control). I guess it is difficult to assess and that everyone's experiences will be different. Hope this is of interest and cheers for now.
Avatar m tn In July 08 I had a series of nuclear scans which after 48 hours showed displacement of the dye and leakage and unexplainably the dye around the brain did not move or disipate at all during the entire 72 hours of scans. I have been under various neuros, Londons UCLH neuro department, Plymouth neuro and surgical departments, POTs testing, caffeine infusions, x rays, failed blood patch (failed due to inabiliity to get the needle through the scar tissue) ICP Bolt pressure monitoring etc.
754648 tn?1233714967 Hello everyone. If anyone has a son or daughter with what my son and I affectionately call a "lucky bump" as illustrated in my profile photo . . . I'd love to hear from you. I'm assuming my son (who's turning 4) has Aplasia Cutis Congenita (ACC) since the pictures I've seen on the internet look very similar to what my son has on his head. My 2 biggest concerns are maintenance and prevention.
147426 tn?1317269232 )) She had a long talk with me two weeks ago about Botox. Seems more and more MSers are opting for that youthful bladder look. This procedure is essentially a cystoscopy. It's like an upsidedown periscope where they can peer into the bladder and do stuff like instill meds or clean off the barnacles. They inject the bladder wall with 20 little torpedos of Botox.
Avatar n tn But I went to physical theropy and massage theropy and had 2 rounds of 30+ injections of Botox right into the tight muscles and none of that even helped a little. So then I find out that I have Hashimoto's and then it all makes sense but the Dr. won't treat it because the thyroid is producing enough hormone. Never mind that it keeps getting BIGGER. Dr.frustrate me. Any advise would be great.
Avatar f tn hmmm stretching only goes so far though i'm not sure anything is going to touch the stupid intercostal muscle that decided to go spastic after a lovely week of HUG. I breath, it stretches my rib cage and i squeal or grunt through it, i seriously think i know what it feels like to be stabbed. When i find the twit with that voodoo doll, i'm going to throttle them lol i am so over it! Its up to you but if its getting beyond doable, it might be time to go back on the Balcofen or similar.
Avatar n tn So it sounds like you are in really bad pain for about a week after? How bad??? What happened after the first week? Did the doctor say to expect this and isn't there anything they can do to relieve the pain during this transition? I had a facet block done C2, C3 several months ago and it gave me some relief but I still got headaches but now it has worn off and my doctor suggested the RFA. They will do a "remedial nerve branch block" as a test first.
Avatar f tn As long as i could remember, i have felt bloated after i eat too much or drink anything. Many people have tried to teach me how to burp but i simply cant. Almost everytime i yawn though, i always seem to let out a tiny burp or maybe a gurgle and i feel a little relief. i have noticed i yawn a lot more than other people, maybe this is a way my body tries to get out the access air. I hardly throw up or get sick. I have thrown up maybe seven or eight times in my life and i am 17 now.
