symbicort

Avatar m tn s a human supplement but safe for cats. Comes in powder form, needs to be mixed with some water to make a gruel than give by dropper. Called slippery elm bark, I buy the NOW brand from iherb.
Avatar f tn So we will see how that goes. She was tested earlier in the year for the basic allergies like to cats, dogs, eggs etc and they all came back negative. Maybe I will have her tested again.
Avatar m tn I had tests done which showed I have major allergies to cats. My ex-wife was a cat breeder and we had 5 to 8 cats living in the house at any given time. I moved out in 2005 and have since lived in 3 other residences. All with no cats or pets of any kind but the symptoms are still with me; Like you, my sinuses drain at night which is where my breathing and chest problems come from. I’ll check into the Guafenisen .
Avatar n tn I'm a 44-year old female, with asthmatic allergic response to cats since childhood. I smoked off and on from 18-39, about 5 pack-years. I've lived near a cat (outdoors with access to my husband's study) for 18 years, and have treated my asthma with albuterol, adding ventolin when necessary. About 12 weeks ago I caught bronchitis, then wildfires broke out near my home that made the air unhealthy for about 2 weeks. This provoked a severe asthma attack -- for three weeks.
Avatar m tn I feel absolutely awful about the trauma our cat is going through. And about how he is now diabetic (which I understand is transient in cats). The hardest part is trying to figure out what I can feed him that will not cause an allergic reaction as chicken, turkey, duck, all fish and seafood, and now venison, are off the table. I have great faith that he will soon be better...but some days it's just hard.
Avatar n tn Luckily, my pharmacist caught my allergy to methylprednisolone and told me it was the steroid used in budesonide. I wish you good health and I hoped this information helped.
Avatar f tn I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
Avatar f tn This season came around and sure enough, when he got a cold it went straight to lungs (wheezing, SOB, coughing) We started inhaled steroid (budesonide), albuterol regimen again. Proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. Round of Orapred proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. After four months we consulted with Pulmonologist. Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear.
Avatar f tn Budesonide - this was a new drug in England when I was prescribed it. My then gastro thought it would keep my Crohn's in remission. I was not in a flare when it was prescribed, but got one 2-3 weeks afterwards. Q1: yes, I take it weekly. 12.5 mg self injected. Used to be 25 mg oral tablets, but new gastro switched me to injections as he said he wasn't sure how much of the drug I was absorbing.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
1560663 tn?1298046527 Opus88 I tried everything for Toonces, yes pumpkin included....fiber in cats with megacolon is tricky, it can sometimes absorb the water thus leading to even more constipation. Wet food over dry food is better but then you have to try and brush their teeth or give a few greenies (if you can afford it) to help with the teeth.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
Avatar f tn Little is known about the long-term efficacy of inhaled corticosteroids in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We investigated the efficacy of inhaled budesonide on decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms in a 3-year placebo-controlled study of patients with COPD...... Inhaled budesonide was of no clinical benefit in COPD patients recruited from the general population by screening.
Avatar f tn s flare, severe nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss of 18 lbs in last 6 weeks, steatorrhea, pain in mid chest and right upper quadrant. Had CT scan 2 weeks ago which showed significant inflammation in terminal ileum and old pancreatitis with calcification. Gastroscopy last week showed oesphagitis.Biopsies taken. MRI scan Nov 2007 showed two strictures in small intestine. Gastro has advised following until I see him in clinic 23 July: Double my mtx injections to 25 mg weekly.
17080824 tn?1453552185 t take any form of drugs. and do not smoke, do not drink and I am a vegetarian. Yes I am inhaling Budesonide Powder to tackle with chronic cough issue. Is it the reason then ? Thank you doctor for your reply and suggestion.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar m tn I take an oral steroid - 8.5 mg per day - supplemented by ceretide(similar to advair) 500 - 2 puffs in the morn and 1 at night - and budesonide 160 micrograms - 2 puffs once a day. The thing with oral steroids is that the get absorbed in the body and have been adversely affecting me. I need to get off it, but every time I try to reduce the dosage my asthma tends to get worse. Can anyone offer me any advice regarding this matter?
Avatar n tn All my cats are indoor cats. Indoor cats live longer and stay healthier. I do leave them out in the back yard on weekends for about an hour, supervised of course.
Avatar n tn Use a panty liner positioned farther back and also you can stuff a cotton ball in the crack to catch fluid. Remove them rather than flushing them. Neem soap may help the skin recover from this. Use antifungal cream if the skin gets thick and dark from staying moist, but apply it to freshly cleansed and dry skin. Pat to dry rather than rough wiping of the irritated skin. Try Sitz baths. Avoid sitting for long if possible.
Avatar m tn Revolution is primarily a treatment for fleas in cats and dogs but it is approved for ear mites in both.
1563533 tn?1345366296 I have always had houseplants and my cats never seemed to care. My cats, however, were indoor-outdoor cats. I think cats require an outside life, unlike dogs whose life is with their masters.
Avatar n tn Does Symbicort 80/4.5 (budesonide 80 mcg and formoterol fumarate dihydrate 4.5 mcg) Inhalation Aerosol effect the eyes? Does it raise the interocular pressure if used with known glaucoma? Avatar f tn He started at a very young age, only 3 or 4 months, to have awful diarrhea with blood (very common in IBD cats, they start at a very young age). As far as IBD (Chronic Colitis) goes, your cat will eventually, hear me on this, she will eventually end up with cancer if you do not act on it soon. Medication does not kill the cause but the symptoms, only for a while, and you want to be able to get to the root of the problem and make it go away.
