787406 tn?1339203183 Well, first------------ it doesn't make kids teeth permanently buck. Um . . . those baby teeth fall out, remember? And not usually until age 5.5 or 6 does the average first lower tooth fall out. The structure of the jaw is not affected by a pacifier. Now, the soft palate, on the other hand is. And early on---------- the use of a pacifier is actually beneficial for this. Soothing and self soothing is really important for children psychologically.
Avatar f tn t have transportation or phone service. I have access to a phone and rides in the evenings but not during regular office hours. Ive been experiencing constant aching in my left kidney along with intermittent colicky episodes which of course isn't unusual for me bc I always have stones passing. But the constant aching has me concerned that I have another big obstructing stone, I can't even get comfortable at night because of the pressure and aching.
4658567 tn?1364142123 I am wondering why toddlers grind their teeth? I can hear my 3 year old daughter in her room at night. It drives me nuts. Is the one of the worst sounds!! She doesn't do it all the time. And once in a while its very little at night.
10203682 tn?1418693754 S ucked my thumb and could actually put my thumb UNDER my two buck teeth. ha ha. So pretty!! You should see the pictures. Teeth fell out. Teeth came in straight. Now, had I continued to s uck my thumb as my permanent teeth were coming in? I don't know. I will tell you that teeth are always moving. That is why so many kiddos need spacers and then a second set of braces after the first that straightened their teeth. Ha, I didn't use a pacifier.
Avatar f tn if the child swallows a good amount of fluoride over time and has a potential of damaging the permanent teeth and turning them yellow.. make sure its fluoride free!!!! Gets them in the routine of putting paste on!
Avatar f tn but lots of lil kids have enemel probs that dobt cone in on afult teeth. as theyre toddlers just watch oit dor anything too hot or especially too cold - including cold weather, as it will cause toothache. i atill like ice cream tho - i just have to lick it like a pervert.
1006035 tn?1485575897 First they tell me that his front teeth will probably come in crooked from how they were positioned (adult teeth under the babies) and then they said he had a place where a cavity was forming. They showed it to me. My kids aren't big sweet tooths and don't get much juice but we have a family history of being prone to cavities.
Avatar n tn When my son gets here I was considering giving him a Binky because baby's seem to love them and they are life savers! But I've heard the cause buck teeth, or rotted teeth and its very hard to get them off of it. Any opinions?
Avatar f tn i know i have to vistit the dentist but with 2 toddlers and a partner in hospital its imposible to vistit, whats the longest time i can go untreated before it gets serious.
Avatar f tn Could it be wax? Some kids do get a hefty wax build up and they make drops to help remove it. I'd ask your pediatrician about that. Or has the child been fussy or sick? An ear infection can cause a discharge as well. My kids have had all different symptoms when they've had ear infections. The hardest time to tell is when they are cutting teeth. Both my kids got ear infections when cutting various teeth but didn't have normal symptoms of an ear infection. No fever for example.
250155 tn?1485295939 is it normal for toddlers to grind their teeth? she does it so much. could this be a result from the problems w/ her ear infections maybe? i didn't ask the ped this question b/c i flat out forgot! i haven't taken her paci away from her yet (i know i should!) but it keeps her from doing it when she has it in her mouth.
Avatar f tn Should I take it away now, even though it is going to be a LONG, HARD process? Or regardless of what her teeth look like now, is it possible that her permanent teeth will come in straight? PLEASE HELP.... I just don't know what to do. I am very concious about teeth, always have been. I don't want to cause her any discomfort by taking it away (not to mention the nights of NO SLEEP for me), but I definitely don't want to mess up her teeth. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Avatar n tn All of a sudden this week my toddlers gums have become inflamed and started bleeding. He had become extremely irritable at night and this started 2 days ago. Any suggestions on what could be going on?
Avatar m tn I have almost no permanant teeth. Not sure if this is true but I had a full mouth x-ray and I had only 3 roots. I did however, save my teeth that fell out when I was little and supposely gave way to permanant teeth. It's strange though since I saved 9 teeth and I only have 3 teeth with roots. Does this mean that I have permanent teeth without roots? If not then what pushed my teeth out then?

Avatar m tn I forgot to say my migraines actually happen less frequently on it but I have the really bad memory problems too.
Avatar f tn t like something you say or a punishment it could be throwing things , hitting, PEEING or POOPING on the floor (peeing is the most common when he is isolated in timeout in his room). This has been going on to this extreme for close to a year. I have taken everything out of his room and closet even his curtains because he wont stop pulling them off the wall when he is supposed to be sleeping or in timeout.
377493 tn?1356502149 He was doing a great job of gaining, but he and I were travelling for 2 weeks. We were in a part of the country where they are experiencing a serious heat wave (we are not at home). He has dropped a bit of weight again. Do you think this could be due to the heat? His appetite was slightly off, but he still seemed to eat fairly well. He hasn't seemed ill in any way with the exception of a very runny nose (mostly green, sometimes clear). He has a Dr.
Avatar n tn session with him, my dentist took preliminary xrays of the anchor teeth. In the second session, (the one my question referred to) he used Nitrous-Oxide and Novocain, prior to performing the RCs, because it was his original intention to prepare my teeth for the placement of a lower bridge. It was then, during this preparatory session, that the teeth abscesses "came to light".
Avatar m tn Two days ago i was told of a 3rd inappropriate act committed by my 1yr old son (he will be 2 in August) and my 3 yr old niece (she turned 3 last March). The first episode was they were found in my son's closet with her pull up off. There was nothing witnessed. However, the shock on her face and the clandestine nature tells us (myself, sister and brother whom were home)something was on the way.
Avatar f tn My son who is 2 years keeps ripping out my hair with his teeth and starts to chew and swallow it. When I let him lay in bed with me he’ll do it, or whenever he’s close to my hair at least. He’ll only ever rip the hair out from the top or my scalp, never from the ends of my hair. Is this just toddler behaviour? It has been going on for about a month now and I’m not sure why. I hear a lot of toddlers pulling out their own hair but never pulling anyone else’s?
Avatar n tn My son (aged 2) has 3 enlarged nodes in his neck, one over 2inch long and pretruding, and one in his groin. He has seen the pedritician and they have said that 2 in his neck and 1 in his groin are all within the normal limits (although the one is larger than a grape?) the one that is longer than two inches she said was larger than normal but felt ok to her. They did a blood count (normal) and test for glandular fever and told me to not worry.
Avatar f tn I am just looking for some opinions. I have been doing lots of research in hopes of helping him in the interim year that we are waiting for an appt. and we do have another appt with the ped next week. I have also gotten him into a clinic that is funded by the Autism Alliance for an evaluation by them...although it will not be an official diagnosis it will help sort some things out, I hope. Thanks so much for reading and giving any input.
Avatar f tn ll be an angel. Granted, my little one has a very mild temperament compared to some other toddlers.
