Buck teeth braces

Common Questions and Answers about Buck teeth braces

Avatar f tn Hi, teeth aren't really the concern. Her teeth now are the baby teeth and yes, they can become crooked. But she has adult teeth growing under her gums that won't come in until she is 5 to 7. I was a thumb sucker way back when and it was a big trick at family events to show how I could slip my thumb under my front teeth without opening my jaw (I know . . .YUCK! but I was a kid and thought that was cool!) Anyway, my permanent teeth came in straight and I have never needed braces.
10203682 tn?1418693754 S ucked my thumb and could actually put my thumb UNDER my two buck teeth. ha ha. So pretty!! You should see the pictures. Teeth fell out. Teeth came in straight. Now, had I continued to s uck my thumb as my permanent teeth were coming in? I don't know. I will tell you that teeth are always moving. That is why so many kiddos need spacers and then a second set of braces after the first that straightened their teeth. Ha, I didn't use a pacifier.
Avatar f tn m really worried about this type of paci giving her buck teeth. I can already tell she has a bit of an overbite, but I THINK (from looking at pictures) I had this too when I was a baby and I never took a paci of any sort. I now have perfectly straight teeth, with no help from braces, etc... What do you think? Would this type of paci cause buck teeth? Should I take it away now, even though it is going to be a LONG, HARD process?
Avatar m tn I have almost no permanant teeth. Not sure if this is true but I had a full mouth x-ray and I had only 3 roots. I did however, save my teeth that fell out when I was little and supposely gave way to permanant teeth. It's strange though since I saved 9 teeth and I only have 3 teeth with roots. Does this mean that I have permanent teeth without roots? If not then what pushed my teeth out then?
Avatar n tn m not an orthodontist, but I can tell you a few things as an adult who just finished having braces...Yes, teeth can be crooked after taking the braces off, especially when patients aren't compliant about following through with the retainment plan set out by the orthodontist, but even then there are some cases where teeth move back into their crooked position. There are lots of pros to braces.
Avatar m tn I had braces at a relatively older age than most people in my early 40s. The dentist warned me at that point that if I was to get braces then he couldn't guarantee the strength of my teeth in the future (older age) and said I might have complications. I read braces were allowed at any age, but why did he warn me at that time? I'm 58 now and my teeth are a bit crooked and I've lost several teeth as well.
Avatar n tn We were told that there were also teeth missing and that applying the braces would fill in the gaps. Now 2 teeth are trying to come in between the teeth that have been pulled together by the braces, and the doctor wants to extract them now. We were told these teeth were genetically missing. I think the braces were applied to early, before all her teeth had a chance to grow in. I can upload the exray.
Avatar n tn One of the reputed dental specialist in a dentistry clinic in Ajax has whom I had consulted recommended me to wear braces which can lead my teeth properly aligned. I’m totally unaware of this procedure. Which one is the most preferable - the invisalign or traditional braces? Can anyone share their experience who has got braces?
Avatar f tn I'm getting my braces off June 8 and im really nervous! Does it hurt? How long does it take to take out a full set?
Avatar f tn Braces are useful to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth. It is a prolonged treatment. It may take 18 months to 2 years. A visit to the orthodontist may be required every four to six weekly. You should take extra care with the braces since there is a tendency for food to get trapped and plaque formation. Do discuss all your concerns with your dentist before placement of braces. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar m tn I'm 17 and was wondering if I should get braces based on the picture, or is there anyway to get bigger teeth, my two front central incisor or front two teeth seem bigger in proportion to the rest of my top front teeth, I'm fine with my bottom, I'm just wondering if I should get braces, try to get bigger teeth somehow, or anything in general. Always looking to improve my teeth so any tips are helpful!
Avatar f tn anybody elves teeth moved while being pregnant, I have a big gap between my front teeth now that happened when I was 20 weeks and I can feel them moving again now 31 weeks, I had braces as a kid and now I need to ask for them again I look awful
Avatar n tn t careful with the cleaning, your teeth will be stained and pitted when you get your braces of and then you'll wish you had a few thousand dollars for veneers.
Avatar m tn I have braces and my teeth look yellow with white streaks all overs them. They are almost a transparent color and i am very upset by this. I brush 2 times a day but its just not enough.. Please help me fix this problem before my braces come off and i am horified. What can i do to fix this problem?
Avatar f tn My teeth are getting bending a lot is their anything my dentist can put to prevent them on bending more?
Avatar n tn what's so good about having braces? Are they only for a better appearance? I read that misaligned teeth can cause tooth decay, but can't you just brush your teeth to avoid tooth decay? I also read that misaligned teeth can affect your speech and chewing, but by how much? Can misaligned teeth affect you so badly that you absolutely can't chew or speak intelligibly? And if yes, does it only happen if your teeth are very misaligned?
Avatar n tn t know what you do about the frontal teeth because sealing is mainly done for the back teeth. The front teeth may now be an available option too. If you go for a check-up, I'm sure the dentist can give you many helpful hints on ways to prevent cavities while wearing braces. I think my husband's problem was he wasn't a good brusher while wearing his. I'm just proud we had the sealing done on my son's teeth.
Avatar f tn i m 18 years old and i want to get my teeth straightened... does havin braces hv any side effect in long term?? i hv overlappin teeth.. will i hv to extract my teeth?? does this have any side effect..
Avatar f tn Sometimes these spots are caused by nutrition, genetics, or an excessive intake of fluoride, while other times they become evident after braces have been removed. Some children also develop white spots on their teeth as they are developing. Usually white spots that appear on the teeth are actually areas of decalcified enamel and sometimes this problem can actually lead to the deterioration of teeth.
Avatar n tn ve seen the new dentist four times now, and each time he is more persistent about me getting braces, specifically Invisalign. He says the way my top teeth are hitting my bottom teeth will certainly cause chipping in the future as my teeth get more brittal. If someone would please answer the following questions I would greatly appreciate it: -Is having a class 3 Malocclusion a serious problem that needs attention? -Do people with an underbite normally get it fixed? If so, with braces?
3166043 tn?1514260018 So you might have seen my other post about me not brushing my teeth for years due to a fear of it. I have conquered that fear and have been brushing my teeth for 2 months now. I do need braces. I have a severe overbite. The dentist said when i last saw him (probably back in 2008) that my teeth were "soft" and braces was out of the question right then. I also had (still have?) gingivitis. I think I have 2 more cavities that need filling .
Avatar m tn i have braces on top and bottom teeth (dont no if that could be a factor). i got my braces tightened 3 days ago and the sensitivity started this morning. i was thinking it could also be that my teeth have been moving around. i really dont want a cavity on one of my front teeth.
Avatar m tn My lower jaw is good, and the rest of my teeth too. Any idea what is the procedure to get it fixed? Is it going to be braces? If so, I'd rather stay like this.
6903444 tn?1385943346 I had an orthodontist appt two days ago where they took off all my old brackets and put brand new ones back on. Not only that, but they also put brackets on my very back teeth on the top and bottom. It's like I am having to start all over again with braces because it hurts so bad. The new brackets in the back are digging into the sides of my mouth on the too so wax has been my best friend but I'm all out and don't wanna get out because it's so windy!
Avatar f tn Anyways, so I am now seeing functional orthodontists trying to decide which one to go with), and the treatment plan in a nutshell is this, funcitonal appliance to fix TMJ, braces or invisalign to re-open gaps, make teeth forward more/ use arch wire to widen smile, then implants. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Scared out of my mind to make another bad mistake, but I feel like reversing this horrible thing that has happened may be a good way to go....
Avatar f tn So i had this receptive blwojob from this girl who had braces on her upper teeth. she was quite inexperienced so i could feel her teeth and was afraid it would cut into my penis. After the bbbj, i had like this ache on the penis where the teeth "ground it" i guess. looked for any "abraisons or cuts" and didn't see any obvious just one red spot but looks like it's been there long. What are the risks? The sex was of course protected.
