My cat had eye discharge I took her to the vet and was told she has Herpes. She has beautiful blue eyes and no swalling or redness. The vet gave me some eye drop that was made in their office ( I was told this is not over the counter medication) . After using the medication for about 4 weeks, I noticed my cat's eye had small patches of black spots in them. I took her back to her doctor and was told I should not warry about it.
I would not try the boric acid on a cat because you don't know if it'll do harm or not.
Is there a reason you don't want to hear the suggestion of a vet? The discharge from the eye could be caused by glaucoma or an eye infection, both of which can cause blindness if you let it go. Sorry, there is no magical cure that we can offer to spare you the expense of a vet.
2 weeks later, noticed lots of sneezing, followed by clear eye discharge. we did terramycin eye ointment for over 3 weeks, no improvement. then the PCR test was done and results were positive for mycoplasma, so we did 3 weeks on doxycycline (cycle ended yesterday). some improvement, but now more sneezing and still some clear eye discharge. yesterday, our vet recommended 2-3 additional weeks on doxy, told me it could be allergies or just a stubborn mycoplasma infection.
I have a persian/himilayan cat and it seems she always has a discharge from her eyes--mostly when she sleeps. Is it a common condition of himilayan cats? I have taken her to the vet and have medicine for her eyes but she still wakes up with black goop around her eyes. I wash it off with a moist cloth and that also inspires her to do some cleaning herself.

About 24 hours after our 8 year old Maine Coon cat was anesthetized for a teeth cleaning, we noticed that the membrane around his eye (possible what is called the 3rd eyelid) was brown with some black rather than it's normal healthy pink. And he was squinting--not opening his eyes fully. His behavior was also off--lethargic, listless, etc.--rather than his normal self. We didn't notice any other symptoms.
According to my cat's chiropractor this means that her left brain is not working correctly. (Left brain controls right eye.) He has suggested stimulating my 14 year-old cat's brain with Mozart music or any 4/4 time music, especially one instrument melodies. My cat's right pupil does not contract when a light is flashed in it so the idea may be the same as long as there is no other organic problem with the cat. We both like the music so there's no problem there.
t bother him that is obvious but is it a form of melanoma? Also his eye has never been swollen or irritated, no excessive mucous discharge, no red no anything he just has one big black spot below his pupil and maybe like two very very small ones. The big one seems to be getting bigger from when it evolved, Hopefully someone can help i mean I'd rather look at the spots then have his eye removed they don't bother me I really just want to know what they are.Thanks for any help given!
I had brown discharge from week 7 through 10 off and on and only when I wiped. My Dr did an ultrasound and everything was fine. Like Schmalzy said its old blood. As long as there is not a lot and it doesnt turn red or you don't get cramping I don't think its anything to worry about but every woman's body is different. You may want to call your Dr though just to let them know and see what they say.
This afternoon I had a little cramping but it went a way well a little while later I went to the bathroom (just urinated) and when I wiped there was brown discharge and then again not to long ago same thing...what should I do? Should I go to e.r or is this normal..doctor says as long as it's not red...
What could cause thick white/clear mucousy discharge? I'm 38w2d, 5cm dilated & 90% effaced & have had cramps & contractions on & off since Friday, was at the hospital 3x's over the weekend. I've had it before, but have noticed a lot more of it today. So what could maybe cause this? Could it be a sign labor is near? Anyone else have it?
ok well heres the thing my period last up to 8 days and on the 5th day the blood starts dispearing but then i get this brown discharge after the blood is gone so what could that be? is it bad? also something else that worriess me is a white milky discharge that i have when im not on my period and its pretty heavy at time. can somebody please help me..
She has had it for about 2 weeks now. Her acual eye looks fine but, she has a green discharge coming from her eye. She can open her eye but, she mainly keeps it closed. I don't see any swollen tissue in or around her eye. I was going to put "Equate's" version on neosporen on her eye because I read online someones vet said it has the same ingrediants as a medication they use for their eyes. I can't remember the name of that meication though.
