I inserted it on the first day of my period, and even waited an additional 7 days just to be sure it had kicked in before having sex without another form of protection.
Since starting, I've had alot of nausea, diarrhea, dark brown discharge, some cramping, and extreme mood changes. Normally I don't cramp at all and my periods are very light.
I started my using Nuvaring about a month and a half now and am currently on my second ring. I put a new ring in about 3 weeks after I inserted the first ring and skipped my period. I've been having a lot of white discharge that smells like period blood and sometimes when I wipe I can tell it's a light brown period that won't go away. Is this normal has anyone else had this happen or gone back to your dr for it?
today i got light pink/brown discharge, and a couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and i had sexual intercourse with a condom, but i didn't know that the condom broke until the next day when a piece of it came out in discharge. i was a few hours late on my birthcontrol that day and it was taken about ten minutes before intercourse. my period is due in six days also.

I am 20 years old and have been on the pill for two years (inconsistently as i switched to the NuvaRing for a few months). I am currently on day 18/19th day of my cycle (according to my period tracker that I downloaded today - which includes the time you're on your period, which for me was 7 days). I try to take the pill around 5:00pm everyday but sometimes I forget and take it later in the day. i have 10 pills left in my birth control pack before i'm supposed to start my next period.
As I draw nearer to my period date, the discharge seem to get heaver color-wise. It would be light brown discharge one day, then red-ish the next, then back to brown and so on, sometimes red. I'm due in about a day or 2 and just today it started to look more like period blood when I use the bathroom. I thought I would start today, but after a few times on and off through the day, it seem to disappear and has resume back to light brown discharge.
But then I didnt get a period on March 29th I had a couple of really light brown spots and then nothing else. But I didnt like my nuvaring so before I missed my period I had asked my doctor if I could get the pill instead and she prescribed me some so on April 1st even though I didnt start my period I started taking the pill. But I am worried that I am pregnant and hurting the baby or something. maybe I am being paranoid idk, I took a test today and it was negative.
My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?

I am 21, NOT sexually active - in fact, I've never had sex. I took pills awhile back to control my acne breakout but stopped after 3-4 months of use.(I became really moody) The last time i took them was about less than 2 years ago. Then around November last year, I noticed brown discharge before my period and it has continued ever since. There's no odor.
I had to get off it for a month or two b/c of insurance issues, however i had gotten my periods normally while on the ring and off, with white discharge normally (as in before my period and after). This month august - sept i was able to get the ring back and i went right back on it. i am sexually active and this month more so. while i was on the ring, this was about three days before i was supposed to removed it, i started having some brown discharge.

Brown discharge is usually the result of old blood. An irregular period or delayed (late) period can often shed older tissue that will begin with a darker burgundy or brown appearance because of the older cells being expelled during the start of your period. Bleeding during or after masturbation shouldn't be considered normal; you either need to use a water based lubricant, or be more gentle during masturbation.

I'm not going to put my nuvaring in just in case I am. It is too early to take a test so I come here for some answers.

I recently missed my period, by 4 days, then got light spotting which was a normal blood color. But it didnt stop, and turned into a dark dark brown discharge color, and is sticky. I have been having this discharge for over a week and a half. Thought i was pregnant through all of this, took a test said negative, was it too early? could i be? I am on the pill, but i have missed some and have not been faithful to it at the same time every day. If condom was not used, the withdraw method is used.
