Common Questions and Answers about Breast pain underwire

Avatar n tn I am a postmenopausal women. I have always worn underwire bras. I wear a 36DD bra. I am noticing soreness under the breast where the underwire is. I have heard that underwires aren't good for women and I've always dismissed it. Is there any concern or is this a myth? This discussion is related to sore rib under breast-any ideas.
Avatar n tn For the last month and a half I have been having a strange pain under my armpits and the side of my left breast. It started as an itching and burning sensation, but has turned into pain which spread to both sides. I have no lumps under my arms on in my breasts that I can feel. I am overweight and have heavy breasts, so I have always worn an underwire bra. In december I started going to the gym 4-5 days a week and working with a trainer one day a week.
Avatar f tn During pregnancy, completely normal. I always massage my boobs and use cold packs on my nipples.
Avatar m tn I had my breast operation about 7 weeks ago, with no complications and im very pleased with the outcome. My question is how long should i wait to start wearing underwire bras again??
Avatar f tn I am 25 and I just found an open sore on my right breast. I also thought it was from an underwire poke or something but upon further inspection it is too high. I too have no pain. I Called the Dr. and they told me to come right in. I have a mammogram and an ultrasound Next Thursday.
Avatar f tn ve heard can be uncomfortable and painful when trying to breast feed. They also have clips at the straps to make breast feeding easier, pulling down a cup to feed and not having to take the whole thing off and having to readjust. No, you don't need one but it makes things easier from what I understand.
Avatar f tn Wearing a sports bra to bed I've heard can help at night. If underwire doesn't hurt you, then it should be fine. It caused me pain in the very beginning, do I'm just going to avoid them, but it might be because I'm smaller, only a c cup.
Avatar f tn I just started wearing an underwire bra. And now I am getting sharp pain under left armpit and side of breast. Could the wires be causing it?
Avatar f tn Bear with me, this might be long. I had a bout of costochondritis in February. I was breastfeeding at the time and it was pretty much agony. Took a month or so to resolve, but then I injured my right shoulder when I slipped on some ice. It all finally healed up and I was pain free for 4-5 months. About 6 weeks ago, I bought a new bra.
1523981 tn?1311318595 t want underwire in the bras. You will need extra support but I remember underwire being very uncomfortable. They do have really good support nursing bras without the underwire, invest in some of those. Also after delivery laundry might be a challenge for a while due to recovery and new baby so you may want enough for at least a week. Hope this helps.
1489762 tn?1288279948 I read a discussion forum on exactly what has happened to me. I have worn an underwire bra for years but I have a severe case of osteoporosis. I lift a lot of heavy boxes and bins in my job and sometime on Friday (I don't recall anything traumatic happening) I must have lifted one too many because I started to have some tenderness on the rib bone just below my left breast.

Avatar f tn Hi I am 18 years old and very concerned about this pain I m having in my right breast, it almost feels like it is underneath the breast but the whole area on the right side of my chest is hurting for the past 2 days. I m quite concerned about this, I am not pregnant or in a sexual relationship, so I m wondering if I could have breast cancer at this stage in my life. Pleas do answer, I m quite unhappy and in pain right now, so please do tell me what is it and what should I do about it! Thank you.
Avatar f tn I had it on for about 2 hours while we sat at the dining room table and played cards and ate dinner, and I started getting really uncomfortable in the bra, and thought I had a little pain underneath my right breast. After his friends left, when I took off the bra, I DEFINITELY was in pain! I happened to walk by the bathroom mirror and saw a large bruise (mostly purple shades) underneath my right breast. The bone underneath is sore, too.
Avatar f tn I completed 4 weeks of radiation 3 weeks ago. Because of the pain from the multiple incisions and tissue removal along with the horrible skin rash, I gave up wearing a bra and was wearing sweatshirts etc. Summer is near, yesterday I tried on swimsuits and bras. Today my breast is sore and tender. The scar under my arm is sore and it hurts when my arm brushes my breast. Now I'm needing advice on comfortable clothing for summer. I have always worn bras with underwire to lift.
Avatar f tn and are both awesome. Make sure you size yourself correctly, gives great instructions on how to do it yourself. And don't be afraid of underwire! If you are wearing the right size it is best for nursing because it gives the extra support your full breast need. My favorite around the house and sleeping bra for when baby first comes is a cotton one by Anita. If you search either site for the Anita 5051 it will come up.
Avatar f tn today i had my first pregnancy class and we were told not to wear underwired bras because they can cause milk blocks (noy sure if thats what they are called they are like lumps in your breast) have anyone experienced this because i am heavy busted and am thinking that non wired bras will not be enough to support me. any tips?
Avatar f tn What's y'alls opinion on them? Should I be wearing one without it? I'm just wondering, I'm so use to it.
Avatar f tn So my breasts are so sore. And sometimes the pain is so sharp it startles me. Any tips on things I can do to deal with the pain? And how long till this goes away?!
Avatar n tn I've been having chest pain, just below breast in center of my chest, accompanied by gas, a full feeling, and a feeling of constipation (although I do not seem constipated). Occassionally there is also pain around my rib cage into my back. And my stomach sometimes hurts and makes odd noises. Also, sometimes I feel as though I need to vomit, but never do. Any ideas what might be causing it?
Avatar f tn So do I, when I wear a bra with no underwire, it feels like I'm just wearing a sports bra and would rather wear one of those instead lol because to me sports bras are marginally more supportive lol, and thank you lady's!!
Avatar f tn I had a green bruise about one inch in size show up on the lower breast. There is no pain with it. I don't remember hitting it. Should I be concerned?
3541656 tn?1348191261 I am having really bad rib pain on my left side right under my breast. I told my doctor and she said it could be from my underwire in my bra or the expansion of my ribs for organs and baby but I went braless today and still had the pain. It hurts worst at night. Does anyone else have this problem and have any tips for me.. cant sleep?
Avatar n tn Im a 29yr old female an about 4 days ago I noticed a lump on my left breast about where the wire of ur bra would be. Its not like a water balloon or moveable like some of the other pages show. Its about the size if a quarter around an when u put ur fingers on each side it kinda feels like a gumball. It doesnt have any discoloration an its only sore when you touch it. The only other pain Ive had is on my left side below the area an a lil in my back.

Avatar n tn m fifteen year old female (turning 16 this June) and noticed that my breast hurt all the time. I noticed it several months ago and thought it was just my underwire bra plus the pain at the time wasn't that severe so I quit wearing bra's in general and always wore a camisole under all of my clothes to help support my breast.
