Breast pain negative mammogram

Common Questions and Answers about Breast pain negative mammogram

Avatar n tn So they said this was an incomplete mammogram. So I went in on 8/11/2006 for additional coned magnification views fo the left breast in the CC and MLO projections. With this coned magnification views, a cluster of slightly pleomorphic microcalcications was seen clusted in the upper central aspect of the left breast near the 12 o'clock postion. There is no associated mass. No other abnormalities are identified.
Avatar n tn Breast pain or soreness can be cause by a number of things but not usually breast cancer. With the BIRADS 3 score of your mammogram the 6 month re-check is the recommended follow-up. what would lessen the concern is the statement that the area appeared to compress out which means that on the compression views the area seemed to disappear. Breast cancers can be found in any area of the breast; I'm not sure where you got the information you mention.
Avatar n tn Most breast cancer is not painful and shoulder and neck pain is pretty atypical for breast cancer. Our recommendation is that you see a breast surgeon for further evaluation so that this abnormality can be sorted out for you.
Avatar f tn LOL I am sure that nothing is wrong with your breast's health, but if it takes a MRI to have peace of mind, then by all means insist to have it done if your doctor's explanation does not completely satisfy you. Have you tried Acupuncture for your chronic breast pain or seen a pain management clinic? If I were you,I would consider it.... Wishing you the best as always...
Avatar n tn I have had pain in my left breast near the under arm going upward toward the neck and down a short portion of left inner arm. My annual mammogram 10/19/07 shows "scattered fibroglandular tissue" and "possible new asymmetric density in the medial aspect of the left breast seen on the cc view". Up until now I thought the pain was just another ache from fibromyalgia and arthritis. In 1997 I had a portion of the outer part of my right breast removed but it was not cancer.
461267 tn?1208470649 Follow-up of breast pain. BILATERAL BREAST ULTRASOUND: TECHNIQUE: Real-time ultrasound imaging of the bilateral breasts was performed. Representative images were presented for review. FINDINGS: The exam demonstrates some solid lesions that have a benign appearance in the right breast at the 9-10 o'clock position, one measuring 0.5 x 0.4 x 0.6cm and the other measuring 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.4cm. The left breast also shows a solid mass at the 3 o'clock position measuring 0.5 x 0.3 x 1.0cm.
Avatar n tn I am a 32 year old female. I noticed about 2 months ago a lump in my left breast. I went right away to my doctor to be checked out she sent me for a mammogram as well as a ultrasound of my left breast. The report came back as Category 5 and it states on my report suspicious small cluster of microcalcifications . I was refered to a breast/ surgeon/ Oncologist. I am so emotional upset and fustrated. I am going in on the 16th Sept for a Sterotactic Biopsy to find out what this may be.
Avatar f tn I just had a mammogram and ultrasound. My report says: The breast parenchyma reveals evidence of involution with predominant adipose tissue and linear densities. there is nodularity in the lower mid left breast, presistent on MLO and CC projection. This may represent varying parenchymal pattern. CAD did not reveal any suspicious findings. IMPRESSION: Nodularity, left breast Breast Ultrasound: Normal architecture of the breast tissue is evident withour disruption of Cooper's ligaments.
Avatar n tn I was told that I have fibrocystic breast 2 months ago. Mammogram and ultrasound around that time both came back negative. My breast tenderness and aching start a week before my period and end sometime durning. My last period was a week or so ago and I am having breast pain again. A dull ache in my left and a shooting pain every once in a while in my right (my right gives me the most problems).
Avatar n tn I am 31 years old and after I had my first child, I started having breast pain in my left breast. I went to the doctor and she said that he felt a small lump. Well, scared to death, I had a mammogram and an ultrasound and they were both fine. I thought it probably was from tugging and lifting on my toddler. Well, I have had another child and the same thing has happened. I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound and they found nothing.
Avatar f tn I had a mammogram two weeks ago as a baseline and turning the big 40. It came back negative for malignancies., but said I had dense breast which can hide small abnormalities. My dr and the radiologist says starting now to have one every year. I have occasional pain in my right breast that comes and goes. Not sure if it's realated to periods. My dr said if he keeps up call her in 2 months. Im having it now, my period is due in 1-2 weeks. I usually have the pain on the right side.
Avatar f tn Now for over a month before my period, on my period, and after my period I've had breast pain in my left breast. Went to a doctor wasn't really to happy with how I was treated I am 23 years old so of course they gave me the basic answers to being worried about my breast from it could be hormones, or they don't want to do a mammogram because of the exposure to radiation and as well as how breast are dense because I'm young and practically that could cause me harm for no reason.
Avatar f tn i went in to the drs feeling pain in my breast drs did a breast examine felt nothing he went back to the paper seen my mother died at 57 of breast cancer so he came back asked where it hurt i laid down pointed to the place he and a student found a lump right away... he immediately scheduled me for a mammogram and ultra sound i am only 29 they came back negative nothing ... shouls i be concerned the technician said my next step would be an mri...
Avatar n tn Dear joi, Breast pain/tenderness is a common breast symptom and may be related to normal fluctuations in hormones due to pregnancy. It is not uncommon for breast pain to be only in one breast.
Avatar n tn Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations and is then called cyclical breast pain. Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast. Without physical examination, ability ask questions etc. it is difficult to advise you as to what this pain could be. It is best to discuss with your doctor, who can evaluate.
Avatar n tn Try some breast massage, warm compresses and breast exercises for the pain and also take OTC pain relief medications for a few days. Try some local application of analgesic gel. If the symptoms still persist, consult your doctor about it. Do let us know about how you are doing. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn This could certainly be a factor in your breast pain. If your tests are negative I doubt there is anything to be terribly concerned about. If the discomfort is a problem for you then women often rely on some over the counter pain medication at the times when the pain is particularly bothersome. If you have doubts then why not make an appointment with a Breast Specialist and get a second opinion. Regards ....
Avatar n tn I don't want to scare you...I work in the medical profession also and know how scary it can be. However, please do not assume everything is ok just because breast cancer doesn't "usually" cause pain. I had pain in my right breast probably for about 6 months before I had it checked out. I thought it was my underwire bra too, then cysts. I did not initially feel a lump either, so I did not think it was cancer.
Avatar n tn Dear dettie68, Breast pain is a common breast symptom. The reason for breast pain is not clearly understood, and is not usually associated with breast cancer. Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations and is then called cyclical breast pain. Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast.
Avatar n tn If you have cysts they can certainly be in only one breast ... Breast pain is a difficult thing to figure out when all the tests are negative. You might ask your Dr. if he/she thinks a Breast MRI would be of value. They are much more sensitive than the other types of imagery. Just a thought. Regards ....
Avatar n tn The orthopedist sent her for a bone scan which came back positive with pathological uptake in L2, a number of areas of her right anterior ribs, her sternum and her left breast. She went for a mammogram and ultrasound which were both negative. She also went to a gynecologist and nothing gynelogical was found. So the question is like this: What are the possibilites of breast cancer with no lump felt by her and negative ultrasound and mammogram even thought he bone scan was positive?
Avatar f tn Asymmetric density in the posterior lateral right breast. I go in tomorrow for a diagnostic mammogram. I admit, I'm scared. Has anyone had the same results?
Avatar f tn I'm a bit concerned of the results, because I'm not in pain and I heard that breast cancer lumps aren't painful, but that the benign lumps are...BUT, when they told me to come back in, they sounded so relaxed, like I might have nothing to worry about at all, that call backs are so common...I kinda feel like they wouldn't be this relaxed if they thought it was cancer...And they practically are telling me it isn't...

Avatar n tn Hi- New to this forum and finding it very helpful. Just had a digital mammogram and ultrasound 2 days ago. Radiologist told me I needed a fine needle biopsy asap. She literally squeezed me in at end of day. She told me she was "very concerned", and the digital mammogram saved my life. I was so nervous that I did not ask many questions. She saw a mass 2 cm and told me she was very certain that it was malignant and if it wasn't, she wanted me to have it removed.
Avatar n tn I just had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound for pain in the left breast. Results were fine for the left, but the right breast showed 8 mm solid nodule with shadows, hypoechoic, and a bi-rad classification of 4. What is the percentage of malignancies of a classification 4? Just want to prepare myself. They said it will be at least two weeks until the stereostatic needle biopsy. What should I expect from that type of biopsy.
Avatar n tn I went to my ob/gyn for an exam following over a year of pain in my left breast. The pain has been increasing and spread to my underarm. She found a lump. I had an US and Mammogram which showed "nothing of concern". I am waiting to meet with the surgeon. I cannot find any information on negative Mammo/Us with a lump evident on physical exam! What should I expect when I meet with the surgeon? I know pain is not usually associated with breast cancer....
