Avatar f tn It was probably not cancer and I was told to come back in 6 months for another mammogram. Both breast wore sore for a couple of days which I thought was normal. My right breast got better the left one did not. I was extremely sore, swollen, itchy and felt hard for two weeks it hurt under my arm as well. I went back to Dr. he said it was fine. Then two weeks ago I noticed a oblong lump in my left breast. So back to Dr. another mammogram and ultrasound which were negative.
Avatar m tn When I had my needle aspiration, the doctor said she wasn't worried about breast cancer because breast cancer isn't painful. Is that true? I have been in pain with Mastitis and stuff found in a duct and awaiting results.

Avatar f tn I had a mammogram two weeks ago as a baseline and turning the big 40. It came back negative for malignancies., but said I had dense breast which can hide small abnormalities. My dr and the radiologist says starting now to have one every year. I have occasional pain in my right breast that comes and goes. Not sure if it's realated to periods. My dr said if he keeps up call her in 2 months. Im having it now, my period is due in 1-2 weeks. I usually have the pain on the right side.

Avatar n tn The doctor said I did not need one as the mammogram was negative. The pain has now developed into a deep itching (not the skin!) within that area where the pain was. It is now very uncomfortable for clothing to touch my chest and I am aware of the discomfort constantly. Prior hx includes 2 biopsies on that breast in the '90s, one a fat necrosis and the 2nd scar tissue. I also had severe bruising to the chest wall due to a car accident prior to the biopsies.
Avatar n tn I am 43 and underwent a mastoplexy (breast uplift with no implants) about 10 years ago. I suffer from pain around the nipples and my GP sent me for a mammogram. They have requested a stero needle biopsy as they have seem some calcium deposits. However, I was wondering if these deposits could be the result of the mastoplexy - my left breast has also felt very sensitive ever since. Can anyone advice please?
Avatar f tn I have 3 lumps on my right breast, pain in my right breast, armpit, and between my shoulder blades exactly opposite of my right breast. I explained all of this to my Dr. he then performs his exam and quickly says you have cellulitis. Gave me Cipro and a fungal cream. For my peace of mind, he ordered a routine Mammogram and chest Xray. After voicing my concerns at the imaging office, they changed the order with the Drs. permission to a Diagnostic mammogram, plus an Ultrasound.

Avatar f tn I have always had a niggling pain where the scar tissue is , now the pain is intense and goes in my arm. I had a mammogram in 2006 , they said scar tissue . I went to the Dr last night who has referred me to a breast clinic. I just wonder if they will do a mammogram again, with the pain I have.. Or a scan. Could it be scar tissue ? The pain starts in the Scar in the morning, then spreads! ohh Lots of questions .. any ideas? thanks Rachel.
Avatar n tn Of course that was the first question I was going to ask .... glad you explained and I certainly understand why you would put your own problems on the back burner. I hope your son is responding to treatment and does well. Now on to your problem ... if you have no other breast symptoms aside from the pain I'm not sure how you should proceed . I would wait for the results of the mammogram; there may be more investigation recommended.
Avatar f tn I am having occasional throbbing sharp pain on both of my breast for about a year. I credited to weight gain, but I still requested a mammogram last week even though my doctor's evaluation was positive. After the mammogram I received a call from the doctor's office letting me know that they needed it request my previous mammogram from 5 years ago to compare some symmetrical (?) shapes they found in my breast. The wait is kiling me.

966489 tn?1247611923 then she sent me for thyroid blood work and that also came back negative. She also sent me for an breast exams whcich were an ultrasound and mammogram and those also came back negative no problem what so ever. Now she wants me to see a breast surgeon not becuase they found something in my breast but because she saids she never heard of having brown discharge coming out from the breast.
Avatar f tn Don't know if this is helpful or not but I've read and been told by my mother - a breast cancer survivor, that cancer lumps are not painful. I've also heard that ultrasounds can detect lumps in the breast before a mammogram can so if that was negative it's quit possible it's nothing. I get pain in my breast that actually stems from pulled muscles and pinched nerves in my back. Take it for what it's worth, I'm a civilian, not a doctor. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn The best course of action is to consult with a doctor (not necessarily an OB-Gyn, you may also consider going to either an oncologist or internist) and have a mammogram done. It will not do you any good to continue delaying the consult. Since the breast pain/tenderness involves both breasts, this may be hormone related. Do you take oral contraceptive pills? Does the pain and tenderness wax and wane with the onset of menstruation?
Avatar m tn I have had severe breast pain for 7 months.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my left breast had a digital mammogram last week called in three days later for ultrasound shows small focal densities seen in the medial aspect of the anterior 3rd of the left breast the dianna pattern is minimally dense without parenchymal distortion would not identify on mlo views need spot compression and ultrasound what does all this mean
Avatar n tn Last week I had a routine mammogram/MRI due to a strong family history of breast cancer. Was called yesterday and requested to return today for an ultraound "in order for the radiologist to complete her report." When I arrived, they disclosed that the mammogram was negative - however, the MRI showed a lump left breast. It is non-palpable on the medial side of the breat close to the rib cage. The ultrasound showed nothing. Given two options.
Avatar f tn Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations and is then called cyclical breast pain. Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast. When you had your hyterectomy were your ovaries removed as well? If not you could still be having some hormone fluctuations if you are pre-menopausal.
Avatar f tn I can feel a lump in my breast and still had a negative mammogram with no findings. How is this possible? What should my next steps be? My family physician stated that it was a cyst; shouldn't it show up on a mammogram? Thank you!
721102 tn?1230565133 Since having the ultrasound the breast pain has worsened. I continue to have periodic (couple of times a day) sharp pain and now a constant aching in my breast. I am avoiding caffine and find myself wearing my bra most of the evening since the lack of support causes a more intense pain. I am not nessecarily worried I have cancer, but I am concerned about what is causing this constant pain. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Is this really necessary? I mean negative is negative, right? The biopsy came back negative so what is the point of repeating the mammogram. The entire situation was so frightening that I hate to put myself through it again. Also, isn't the radiation from 3 mammograms in one year dangerous? Opinions?
Avatar f tn I just had my first mammogram and ultrasound because of a lump under my arm and breast pain. The results of the ultrasound showed Axillary region there is a hypoechoic mass with some microlobulations. The mammogram is a Category 4 Suspicious. I am scheduled to go and see a surgeon next week till then can someone please give me some insight about what this all means? There is also a part that is that states "Lesion does not have the characteristics of a benign appearing lymph node.
