Common Questions and Answers about Breast pain hormonal

breast

Avatar n tn It's probably hormonal. I'm not sure why hormonal shifts occur, but you might want to consider buying organic meats. Try primrose oil pills for a few weeks if it continues.

Avatar f tn I too have breast tenderness and pain in my breast that is closely associated with my hormonal cycle. The pain also seems to radiate under my arm. Seems to last around 2 weeks before my cycle then tapers off. The older I get the longer the tenderness lasts. It used to be only a few days before my period. The joys of getting older =) But just to be able to discuss these issues with a specialist is a great comfort to me. And one more opinion is always a good thing to have.
Avatar n tn Hi, Breast pain is a common breast symptom. The reason for breast pain is not clearly understood, and is not usually associated with breast cancer. Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations called "cyclical breast pain".Non cyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue.
Avatar f tn I've been having breast pain since last week, had an exam Tuesday, "everything's fine". They're not sore. There's sharp pain, aching pain, burning sensation in my breast!
1245359 tn?1268596667 Dear Michele_Swain, Breast pain is a common breast symptom. The reason for breast pain is not clearly understood, and is not usually associated with breast cancer. Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations and is then called cyclical breast pain. Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast.

Avatar f tn I am having occasional throbbing sharp pain on both of my breast for about a year. I credited to weight gain, but I still requested a mammogram last week even though my doctor's evaluation was positive. After the mammogram I received a call from the doctor's office letting me know that they needed it request my previous mammogram from 5 years ago to compare some symmetrical (?) shapes they found in my breast. The wait is kiling me.
Avatar n tn I would think this might be due to hormonal changes in your body .... I would doubt anything of a serious nature since the discomfort is present in both breasts. Having had a hysterectomy would have no bearing on the symptoms since you don't mention that your ovaries were also removed. The uterus produces no hormones but the ovaries certainly do and any breast tenderness is most often associated with changing hormone levels in the body. You might bring up the subject on your next Dr.s visit.

Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast. When you had your hyterectomy were your ovaries removed as well? If not you could still be having some hormone fluctuations if you are pre-menopausal.
Avatar f tn I Got pregnant in june and august i Did DnC to flush it out, since then, i been seeing period 2--3days and experiencing discharge from my breast, we,ve done all tests but doctor said its HORMONAL IMBALANCEthe doctor prescribed a drug called PARLODEL, i have been using dis drugs for 2months nw and no positive result..please what should i do because me and my husband want to have babies.
Avatar n tn Also, it is important to note that the pain can be due to associated hormonal changes that may stimulate the breast tissues and can indeed cause pain.
Avatar n tn Hi, Pain in the breast is not uncommon. There are several benign conditions causing breast tenderness and it's NOT a common symptom of breast cancer. The pain can be persistent or intermittent and could be due to infection, hormonal imbalance, cysts, medication or injury to a muscle. Many women actually find relief, when it comes to breast pain, when they cut back on how much caffeine they consume (chocolate, coffee colas).

Non cyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue. Non cyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast. Breast pain is evaluated based on the history of the pain you would give to the health care professional, as well as a physical examination.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago. I do not take any medications at all. But I get such breast pain. They swell up and so tender to touch worse than they would hurt before a period. If my Fiance' touches me between my breastbone I scream.....Will this ever go away. Oh I do have breast size 36DD.
Avatar m tn I would see your doctor. Usually women find they have pain in both breasts - and it usually down to hormonal reasons, but I've not heard many women having pain in just one so best to get it checked out. Especially since it's grown and the other one hasn't.
Avatar m tn I went to bed this morning for about 30 minutes and woke up in the middle of it because I was getting pain in my left breast. I have no kids and was taking birth control up until two weeks ago, I'm 18 years old and married. I want to know if I need to see a doctor or if this is normal in girls my age. Also, could it be that I am pregnant?

Avatar f tn The best course of action is to consult with a doctor (not necessarily an OB-Gyn, you may also consider going to either an oncologist or internist) and have a mammogram done. It will not do you any good to continue delaying the consult. Since the breast pain/tenderness involves both breasts, this may be hormone related. Do you take oral contraceptive pills? Does the pain and tenderness wax and wane with the onset of menstruation?
Avatar n tn There are many possible explanations for breast pain. The most common cause of breast discomfort is cyclical pain or hormone related pain. Breast cancer is not usually painful. Without evaluation, we cannot speculate on what might be causing your pain. As your pain is not really breast specific, you may want to revisit this with your doctor if it continues.
Avatar f tn Never in the 14 years have I ever had sick pain like I do now in the past year. 2 weeks before my period both of my breast swell up and get dark blue rings around the nipples. They hurt so bad that I can't sleep and it even hurts into my armpits. Not sure what it could be. I haven't been on birth control.fir 6 or 7 years now and need some insight!
