278664 tn?1319840159 Ok so a week ago I got really sick, throwing up and diareaha. I lost alot fluids that night and I'm breastfeeding. Well since then my milk has been very low. I have been trying to pump after each feeding to make sure I empty the breast to stimulate more milk, but it's not. I have been drinking alot of fluids, eating well. I've had to supplement almost every night with formula or with pumped milk.
741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
Avatar f tn My 1st baby was born at 27wks and I expressed for 9 weeks with the help of medication as my milk supply was low. Baby number 2 was full term and I breast fed and expressed plus the help of medication for about 7 weeks and gave up then due to low supply. Baby number 3 was full term and again I fought for about 5 weeks with expressing, breastfeeding and medication before I gave up. My body doesn't seem to like to make much milk unfortunately.
Avatar f tn s worth it and your babies health will benefit even 50 years into future due to breastmilk. Pump more try nursing more and there are some herbal mothers milk teas to promote milk supply. You can do it!
Avatar f tn MY friend just had her daughter she's two months she was breastfeeding but stopped said she wasn't producing enough milk I want to breast feed also work so I'm planning to pump I really don't want to formula feed my son how can I make sure I have that milk supply coming in besides I heard it had lots of benefits for me and my son like low risk of SIDS and my sons dads oldest son died from SIDS and also I know it will help me loss weight so I don't want to give up on breastfee
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
Avatar f tn Any new moms having problems with breastfeeding? My daughter is 2 weeks old and my milk supply is still low when I pump it's only 1oz from both breast sometimes less so I had to put her on formula which breaks my heart because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed for 3 months and then do both when I go back to work but I had no choice.
Avatar n tn So for the first week and a half my breasts were feeling full & heavy. My son is now 13 days old & since Wednesday my breasts have been feeling squishy & soft. I'm still able to nurse frequently & I only pump occasionally. But I'm worried that maybe my milk supply is running low & that I won't have enough for my baby. I also have some pain in my right breast. There's no redness or warmth it just hurts a bit when I push my breast inward from the side.
Avatar f tn Why havent i start gettun breast milk yet nd im 6 months pregant now wen do u suppose to start leakin
Avatar f tn I breast fed my daughter and I always had extra to put in the fridge. I just had to pump at the time she usually had to feed and I kept producing alot of milk.
Avatar f tn I believe it's pretty normal. The breast can leak colostrum as early as 16 weeks pregnant.

Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
676912 tn?1332812551 A baby is much more efficient than a pump ever will be and many women think they have low supply because of these two things. Breast feeding is supply and demand, so the more you put the baby on the more your body makes. The less it's put on the less is made. It doesn't sound like you have a low supply. Don't worry. It sounds like everything is fine. As long as she's growing you're clearly producing enough.
327668 tn?1224792350 Mothers around the world have been using it obscurely as a natural way to increase breast milk, mothers produce copious amounts of highly nutritious milk for their infants. The term given an herb or food that increases the flow or production of breast milk is galactogogue. Moringa has been clinically proven to increase the production of breast milk whether it is consumed before or after the birth of a baby.
7590082 tn?1392496513 Hey ladies. I'm expecting my second child in September and I really want to breast feed. It didn't work out with my first cuz I had a low milk supply and couldn't feed her anymore at 3 months.. What if I can't breast feed this baby either? Does a low milk supply mean always a low milk supply with every child? What were your experiences?
Avatar f tn I rubbed breast milk on my nipples after every feed and let them air dry for at least a few minutes. The breast milk trick is probably the best one of all of these. There are antibacterial properties in breast milk which aid the healing process and also lower your chances of getting an infection like thrush or mastitis. You should never wash your nipples with soap. Washing with water when you normally shower is all that is necessary.
7590082 tn?1392496513 Hey ladies. I'm expecting my second child in September and I want to breast feed so bad.. It didn't work out with my first. My milk supply was low and I couldn't breast feed her past 3 months. I was devastated.. Did any of you mothers have success breastfeeding the second or third time around after not being able to? I'm nervous I won't have enough for this baby either..
4437866 tn?1388119624 One of the biggest issues that employed breastfeeding mothers who are separated from their babies face is low milk supply. In talking with other active-duty mothers, you may think that a low milk supply is inevitable because it’s such a common issue.  Some mothers find that while their milk supply is great on a Monday after a weekend of nursing, it is faltering by Thursday.  Or they hit a slump at around the three-or six-month mark. A low milk supply is not inevitable.
Avatar n tn I exclusivly BF my son for 12 and a half months, when ever my milk supply would run a little low on milk I would drink lots of water, eat hearty foods and...even though this may come as a shock to some people and seem bad to others I had one beer each day right after one of my LO's feedings, so that the alcohol would not go directly in to his blood stream, it worked great!!!

Avatar f tn The typical growth spurts are 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (there are some after that but less frequent). The best thing you can do is nurse nurse nurse during a growth spurt! I’d say breastfeeding for me significantly improved after 2 weeks and then became completely second nature around 2 months. I really fell in love with breast feeding so I wanted to share my experience to help other moms be successful breast feeders too.
Avatar f tn You also have to see if youre milk supply is really low often mothers think its low when it really isn't. If you're baby is gaining weight well on breast milk alone then you don't have a problem with milk supply.
1454858 tn?1306784378 I agree it shouldn't hurt if the baby has a proper latch. it can be a bit uncomfortable when your breasts are full and the baby first begins to suck, but as soon as milk begins to let down the discomfort should ease. I honestly believe that smaller breasts are an advantage while breastfeeding. I have (now)36EE's and while BFing I had FF's...so trying to maneuver the nipple was difficult and it was almost easy to move baby around to fit the nipple instead of vice versa...
