milk

1885931 tn?1371771436 I tried everything to get my milk to dry up, and nothing worked for me, I've had a milk supply for the last 7 years! Not a fully supply but I could get a few ounces out if I tried.
Avatar f tn I never leaked, and after I gave birth I had a very low supply and ended up drying up. I've also heard it's a good indicator that you'll have a good supply. It's also normal to leak and many women do.
Avatar n tn n i already feel like im drying out on milk i breastfeed as much as i can .... but some night about 3 i have not breastfeed her due to my food (spicy) or gassy foods (trying to reduce coluc or gassy bby tummy) but since i feel dry i bought MOTHERS MILK TEA which is yucky awfully nasty... do any of you ladys know how to make it taste better or any other home remedies to produce more milk... pleade help im desperate....
Avatar f tn Ok so I'm having a hard time with my new born breastfeeding he won't attach to me no matter what so I had to be pumping because I really wanted him to drink breast milk. But I'm having trouble I'm drying out because I was out of town and forgot my pump! Is there anyway I can start producing more milk???
888438 tn?1241046535 That way your breast dont move too much and also it wont help your breast milk form as there is no room. If it becomes too painful then go for a warm shower and let the water ease it. You will probably start dripping but once you wrap yourself up again it will stop. Another friend told me her mother told her to put .... Cabbage leaves in her bra as the coolness eased it but i couldnt put food in my bra.. didnt seem right.
2109562 tn?1347253848 I agree with the others, try to stay away from the formula as much as you can as this will keep baby fuller for longer and that isnt what you want while trying to increase your breast milk, as the others have said, put bub to breast often and that will help, also make sure your having 1 full glass of water at every feed, as well as fenugreek , theres also mothers milk tea, and you can make lactation cookies as well, your breasts will produce enough milk for your baby and even if you feel your dr
2075786 tn?1342908758 Probably not, I was told it was a good sign of supply as well. But BM supply is based on supply and demand, the larger the demand the larger the supply. Diet and fluid intake can also affect it.
Avatar f tn I breast fed my daughter and I always had extra to put in the fridge. I just had to pump at the time she usually had to feed and I kept producing alot of milk.
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
Avatar f tn I got him to feed from me for about minute when he wasn't hungry. He's working on it and getting better a little each time :) I didn't know WIC have out breast pumps though. Has anyone ever received one from them before? I was planning on getting one in a few weeks when we had the money, I'm just scared of my milk drying up. How long does it take for it to start drying up?
283175 tn?1295537265 even though my milk supply was low I think it took a week and a half to dry up...you could use a breast-binder, they're supposed to help reduce the milk supply quicker and somehow reduce pain....I have no idea how long it would take if you're not breastfeeding though. just be careful because if you're taking really warm baths or showers it can cause your milk to letdown...and every time you letdown, the body will try to produce more milk....drying up really stinks, lol. Good luck....
741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
Avatar f tn I breast fed for a year, very little fresh tastes of food for baby and was back to my my pre-pregnant weight in 1 year.
1222635 tn?1366396286 Its only been a week, usually the minimum time (that I've heard) it taking for your milk to dry up is 2 weeks (and that is really fast). Of course you're really not supposed to touch your boobs at all or even take warm showers to help 'dry up'. Idk about you but I couldn't imagine not using it if I had it, not all women get that lucky. (Personally I'm going to donate my pumped milk, they use it for preemies and sick babies whose mothers can't produce enough milk.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I think my milk is drying up. When I hand express I barely get a few drops. My 11 month old keeps signing milk to me when he nurses. I am 7 weeks pregnant. Is there anything I can do so it doesn't dry up? I am so crushed and sad now. My son is allergic to formula and soy.
Avatar n tn From my understanding, the only way to increase breastmilk is to feed or pump more often. That will increase your milk supply. The more you breastfeed, the more milk you will produce. Make sure you stay hydrated with plenty of water and liquids and get enough calcium. I do think there's a pill the doctor can give you if you're really having a hard time producing but I'm not sure how that works. I'd ask your ob doctor. Best wishes!
7845638 tn?1395841467 and a breast feeding consultant will advise you to wait 6-8 weeks before trying to pump because if you do it early on, it can make your body produce too much milk. Milk production is all supply and demand..what your baby is drinking is what your body will supply. It's amazing!!
3588173 tn?1357317184 I'm sure if you start pumping now you'll get your supply back up! How is your little guy doing?
7143736 tn?1396242800 I'm gonna try fenugreek! I've heard good reviews about it. There's also mother milk tea, and oatmeal.
Avatar f tn See a lactation consultant while in the hospital to check for any latch issues if any are there. Breast milk is produced in a supply and demand. The more your baby demands the more you make. Remember once your milk regulates to your baby's needs they will not feel hard or engorged any more so don't worry. Mine got soft and floppy lol I did worry but I learned that I was still producing plenty. My sons pediatrician told me to count diapers 5 or more wet diapers a day is your indicator.
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
