3106038 tn?1346813169 I read that 5 is the magic number for breast milk. 5 hours at room temp, 5 days in the fridge and 5 in the freezer. I'd double check as I wasn't able to beast feed my 11 month old. Just carry a small cooler. Put it in a bottle with reusable ice packs. I will say that you HAVE to wait until you have a steady milk supply or you'll dry up slowly!
Avatar f tn Breast milk can be safely stored room temp for up to 6 hrs.
Avatar f tn How much does breast milk last outside at room temperature, freezer and fridge?

Avatar f tn How long can breast milk stay refrigerated before it can no longer be given to a baby?
Avatar n tn I looked it up for you.
446156 tn?1275859576 However, did you know that breastmilk is good at room temp for several hours? During the day, my milk was good at room temp for 5-8 hours (depending on season and how warm room temp was). At night, when we let the house get cool, my milk stayed good for 10 to 12 hours at room temp. Everyone's milk is different. Just give it a sniff- trust me, you'll know if the milk is bad. Plus, my lactation consultant told me that a baby wouldn't drink bad milk.
4364093 tn?1365869659 Lol I got a lot of breast milk storage bags at my shower, and a double pump breast pump. And if she will most likey only eat 2-3 times then I feel a lot better. Haha I'm sure ill get some sort of system down.
621803 tn?1302888341 I wouldn't put it in a water bottle if it were me. I would buy some cheap breast milk freezer bags to have them on hand for the next time. These either tie with a twist tie or they zip closed. You can get a huge amount for a few bucks at Target. Sounds like you are doing great with the breastfeeding!!!!!!

9771234 tn?1405793808 No bottle warmers or wipe warmers. Just ran frozen breast milk under water. Uses filtered room temperature formula. Uses cold milk after he turned one.
9889855 tn?1412479178 html This is a good site on storage, and you can buy breast milk storage bags. You can freeze milk in them as well.
Avatar f tn Depends on the baby. My first and third refused to take their milk at room temp I had to warm theirs, but my second child was happy with it this way. I wouldn't give it cold out the fridge and you can't store formula at room temp once it is made, so I would put the boiling water in the bottles and allow to cool to room temp and I had a little sectioned tupper ware which I could keep 3 bottles worth of measured powder in, so I added this when we were ready for it.
Avatar m tn Now on 6 pumps and I felt a difference but now that has declined. Jusy wondering if the room temp could be harming this drug and maybe why it doesnt seem to be working for me. Thanks in advance, Sutallee.

3054705 tn?1348415479 Google Kelly mom breast milk storage. There's a list with great info regarding BM storage.
Avatar f tn I'm doing research about storage for breast milk. I want something that's cost effective and will work. I'm not looking to create a huge stash of frozen milk because I don't have the space in my freezer nor do I have a deep freeze (yay apartment living). I have looked into the disposable bags. What a money sink. Plus the reviews I read do not put much faith into me using them. I came across a mom's blog about using mason jars.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies! Does anyone know if I can store Breast milk in ziplock freezer bags? The bags I have made specifically for breast milk don't close very well and I worry about freezer burn. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it!
7923170 tn?1412999504 Soo were on a very short budget and I want to breast feed to help with costs n not to mention its healthy for baby and me... My biggest concern is how to store the breast milk. I have an idea to use jelly jars my gram uses to freeze her strawberry jelly she makes... But I don't know if they would bust... I don't plan on filling them to the very tippie top.
