Avatar f tn Ohh okay I jist bought a maternity bra thinking it was a nursing bra I will have to return it and look for some nursing bras. Thank you that was helpful. And about the milk storage bag do I just buy them and put my milk in there after I pump and put them in the freezer?
9889855 tn?1412479178 html This is a good site on storage, and you can buy breast milk storage bags. You can freeze milk in them as well.
229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.
Avatar n tn I have a question for all the moms out there. I am 39 weeks tomorrow it will be my second daughter my 1st is now 7 years old. Avatar f tn Usually breast pumps come with one or two bottles (depending on whether you got a single or double pump). Once you have pumped dump the milk into breast milk storage bags, or you can pour the milk into what ever type of bottles you and your baby prefer to use.

Avatar f tn This time around i bought a pump and storage bags since i will be returning to work six weeks later. I am aiming to pump my breast a few days prior to due date and store milk so when Lil man arrives, I'm already flowing without any problems. Any suggestions or comments from experts?
Avatar f tn Hi ladies! Does anyone know if I can store Breast milk in ziplock freezer bags? The bags I have made specifically for breast milk don't close very well and I worry about freezer burn. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it!
Avatar f tn Our hospital hands out flyers with breast feeding and milk storage tips when you leave the hospital. I breastfeed but my little one didnt take a bottle so i cant help you with the tips! Avatar f tn I'm going to get the gerber bottles from walmart. My sister has them & they work fine so i thought I'd try them, but if I'm pumping what bottles would I store the milk in? Or should I just get storage bags?? & if i get storage bags do i just pour the milk in the bottle when im ready to feed? Ugh. So confused lol help!
Avatar f tn I'm trying to choose the best breast pump and milk storage system I can find. I travel extensively for work and I'll even be pumping in the car. I found the Kiinde system; which looks awesome. But, I'm not sure what I will be able to express from each breast at each pumping session. Ideally, I would like to pump directly into the storage bag, freeze it, thaw it, and feed directly from the bag. That is how the Kiinde system is intended to be used.
Avatar f tn Fresh milk can be in the fridge 4-6 days and frozen thawed milk can be in the fridge 24 hours. These are the milk storage guidelines from the LLL.
266539 tn?1281402152 Freezing does take away some of the nutrient value in breast milk, but that doesn't mean that you have to avoid it altogether. I use ice cube trays to freeze milk into 1 ounce cubes. Then when the tray is full (14 cubes in the trays I use), I put the cubes in a vacuum sealed bag. I am currently using the ziploc vacuum seal bags, they work great. My little one is 7 weeks old and usually goes through about 10 ounces of milk at day care a day (he is there from 7am - 5pm).
Avatar f tn U actually freeze breast milk in special bags made for storage

9842459 tn?1411688168 My bottles won't fit and I was wondering what did you use to store your breast milk in? I've looked at Walmart and the first years website. Can you use any milk storage bag? I have two bottles that came with the pump can I use them and just pour the milk in the storage bag? Or will that mess up with me pumping?
4194487 tn?1370046144 Breastfeeding question! Okay, so it says in a breastfeeding booklet if i pump my milk into a bottle, once bub starts drinking it you have to discard the rest of it after the feeding.. If i wanna go out one night how can i store all my milk? I only have like 4 bottles.. Can i pump it all into a litre bottle or something and then my mum can pour small amounts into baby bottles? I tried ringing a breastfeeding hotline but of course its too busy -.
