Avatar f tn Hi ladies! Does anyone know if I can store Breast milk in ziplock freezer bags? The bags I have made specifically for breast milk don't close very well and I worry about freezer burn. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it!
9889855 tn?1412479178 html This is a good site on storage, and you can buy breast milk storage bags. You can freeze milk in them as well.
Avatar f tn Put it in the lansinoh storage bags specifically for breast feeding, then label it and stick it in the freezer.
Avatar f tn Deep freezer in storage bags up to a year. Fridge freezer in storage bags 6months fridge up too 5 days in a cooler with ice packs 24 hours room temp. Less then 3 hours.
229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.

3054705 tn?1348415479 If u freeze you milk in milk bags I believe its good for a year. To unfreeze your milk heat up a cup of water not to hot! And place the bag in the cup to unfreeze. I lovedfreezing my milk because u can store it away for along time. And take it on the go .
266539 tn?1281402152 you can store up 6 months in a normal freezer, but milk should be far back in freezer as possible and definitely not stored it the door.
7923170 tn?1412999504 Soo were on a very short budget and I want to breast feed to help with costs n not to mention its healthy for baby and me... My biggest concern is how to store the breast milk. I have an idea to use jelly jars my gram uses to freeze her strawberry jelly she makes... But I don't know if they would bust... I don't plan on filling them to the very tippie top.
Avatar f tn I'm doing research about storage for breast milk. I want something that's cost effective and will work. I'm not looking to create a huge stash of frozen milk because I don't have the space in my freezer nor do I have a deep freeze (yay apartment living). I have looked into the disposable bags. What a money sink. Plus the reviews I read do not put much faith into me using them. I came across a mom's blog about using mason jars.
Avatar f tn Ohh okay I jist bought a maternity bra thinking it was a nursing bra I will have to return it and look for some nursing bras. Thank you that was helpful. And about the milk storage bag do I just buy them and put my milk in there after I pump and put them in the freezer?
621803 tn?1302888341 I wouldn't put it in a water bottle if it were me. I would buy some cheap breast milk freezer bags to have them on hand for the next time. These either tie with a twist tie or they zip closed. You can get a huge amount for a few bucks at Target. Sounds like you are doing great with the breastfeeding!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Our hospital hands out flyers with breast feeding and milk storage tips when you leave the hospital. I breastfeed but my little one didnt take a bottle so i cant help you with the tips! There are lots of guidelines though like how long in the fridge and or freezer and how long at room temp!
Avatar f tn Its the Playtex drop in bottles with the purple box (name starts with a l and i can never remember it) for the storage milk bags. I am going to be breastfeeding as well going to pump as well cause breastmilk in a freezer, my case deep freezer, will keep for 6 months to a year. :-) and you never know what can happen.
7062489 tn?1388194102 For breastfeeding, I personally suggest a pump and storage (like bottles and/or freezer bags) for the milk.
7381903 tn?1391464888 Thank you :)
9842459 tn?1411688168 Ypu can pour it into a milk storage bag after you pump. Just put them in the fridge for an hour tham transfer to the freezer if you want. Thats what i did.
Avatar f tn Usually breast pumps come with one or two bottles (depending on whether you got a single or double pump). Once you have pumped dump the milk into breast milk storage bags, or you can pour the milk into what ever type of bottles you and your baby prefer to use.
8023513 tn?1404352955 Personal care items such as breast pads, lanolin (or another brand nipples cream), a few nursing bras. I used milk storage bags for expressed milk as they're easier to store than the small bottles you can buy. I used a good nursing pillow...absolute god send when hours spent breastfeeding! I think that's pretty much all I needed.

Avatar f tn Breast milk can be stored in the freezer for 6 months. When you take it out put it in a bottle in a pot of hot water, don't put it in the microwave. & no it shouldn't be watered down.
Avatar f tn t do this. You just put the milk in milk storage bags and saved it in the freezer.
Avatar f tn Look at the La Leche League website, it's very helpful. With a deep freezer you can freeze for 3 to 6 months. It's best to freeze in milk bags or glass jars with fitted tops. In a regular freezer with separate doors from your fridge you can freezer for up to 3 months. And if your freezer door is the same door as the fridge it's only good to store for up to 2 wks.
Avatar f tn I use evenflo bottles and lansinoh storage bags. But I don't pump very often. I only started pumping last week in order to get baby use to a bottle occasionally. I plan on breastfeeding all the time.
