milk

888438 tn?1241046535 Cabbage leaves are amazing at drying up the breasts. Put them in when they are cold and when they becomes soft/wilted looking replace them. There is something about the cabbage leaves that helps stop lactation. A warm shower will bring relief, but also stimulates the breasts and will delay your desire to stop lactation. If possible, avoid stimulating the breasts directly. Squeeze your pouf below you chin and let the soap slide down the breasts to cleanse them.
1222635 tn?1366396286 Its only been a week, usually the minimum time (that I've heard) it taking for your milk to dry up is 2 weeks (and that is really fast). Of course you're really not supposed to touch your boobs at all or even take warm showers to help 'dry up'. Idk about you but I couldn't imagine not using it if I had it, not all women get that lucky. (Personally I'm going to donate my pumped milk, they use it for preemies and sick babies whose mothers can't produce enough milk.
Avatar n tn n i already feel like im drying out on milk i breastfeed as much as i can .... but some night about 3 i have not breastfeed her due to my food (spicy) or gassy foods (trying to reduce coluc or gassy bby tummy) but since i feel dry i bought MOTHERS MILK TEA which is yucky awfully nasty... do any of you ladys know how to make it taste better or any other home remedies to produce more milk... pleade help im desperate....
Avatar n tn by now your milk should have been dried up only usually takes a couple of weeks for it to dry up after stop feeding was you on your cycle when you noticed it sometimes you have milk then too. If your in pain or breasts are hard and hurt i would contact your gyn they can give you a pill to dry up faster.
Avatar f tn I never leaked, and after I gave birth I had a very low supply and ended up drying up. I've also heard it's a good indicator that you'll have a good supply. It's also normal to leak and many women do.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I think my milk is drying up. When I hand express I barely get a few drops. My 11 month old keeps signing milk to me when he nurses. I am 7 weeks pregnant. Is there anything I can do so it doesn't dry up? I am so crushed and sad now. My son is allergic to formula and soy.
Avatar f tn s milk tea and almonds and a lot of water I was bf on demand so I had a lot of milk supply I was kinda drying up so they told me to try all that before trying fenergreek.
Avatar f tn I'm not breastfeeding and just woke up yesterday completely engorged, with red lumps on my breast any one else do this? And what can I do to ease this and get my milk to dry up?
Avatar f tn As above stated it doesn't matter if you get larger breasts or not. You can produce milk. If your planning to breastfeed a few suggestions are latch your baby ASAP. A lot of children get nipple confusion so wait 4 to 6 weeks before introducing any bottles or pacis the same rules apply with formula. Do not supplement until you have a good supply going. Your baby will go through growth spurts and will make you feel like you aren't producing.
Avatar f tn I had my baby boy 5 days ago n i made the decision to bottle feed but my breast came in yesterday and my breasts really hurt. Is there anything i can do to dry up my breast milk? Ive tried cabbage leaves, ice packs n tylenol to relieve pain n swelling. Any other ideas?
Avatar f tn That isnt entirely true^^^^ your breasts will produce colostrum, its full of nutrients that ur baby needs! While breast feeding ur baby the colostrum that will trigger ur milk which csn take up to 3-4 days. Of course the hospital will give u formula but its up to u whether u want to use it!
Avatar f tn It will take a bit for her to get used to formula just keep at it as for drying up do it slowly pump every few hours at first than slowly increase the time between pumps...if you feel engorged when doing the pumping place a hot rag on yourself as you pump...if you stop cold turkey it could be dangerous for you and as you increase time between pumps use cold cabbage leaves...
1885931 tn?1371771436 I tried everything to get my milk to dry up, and nothing worked for me, I've had a milk supply for the last 7 years! Not a fully supply but I could get a few ounces out if I tried.
373683 tn?1218997212 OK, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE SEEN THE ADORABLE PICS OF MY NEPHEW ON MY PROFILE, I HAVE A QUESTION... MY SISTER IN LAW HAS BEEN BREASTFEEING HIM..... NOW SHE SEEM'S TO BE "DRYING UP"..... SHE PUMPS AND ONLY GET'S ABOUT 3 OUNCES.... I HAVE TOLD HER TO STAND IN A HOT SHOWER, THAT'S NOT WORKING... .SHE'S NOT ENGORGED.... WHAT COULD BE GOING ON ?
Avatar f tn I also agree with a support system because no one around me really breastfed and I also breastfed for 14 or15 months up until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I had a lot of negativity about it and people askin when i was going to get her off the boob. I always told them when she goes off to college and they shut up real quick lol. Breastmilk on your nipples can also help and let the milk dry on.
Avatar f tn With excerise after your dr oks it, you can get it firm again but it takes a while as for the breast drying up, im not sure. I breast fed. To me, the most painful part when it came to my breast was when they were filling up. My breast looked like watermelons. It hurt for anything to touch them. When my breast did dry up after breastfeeding it did not hurt at all. Trust me though, it is all worth it. Anytime I was upset about my belly I just squeezed my daughter tight.
218870 tn?1240255655 t completely dry up until almost 2 years after my son. I had him Feb 04 and finally quit getting milk 21 months later. I doubt it is a brain tumor, but it could very well be hormones, or the fact that you never dried up and are now just noticing it. Id call your OB just to be on the safe side though.
Avatar f tn My daughter was able to sit up on her own, hold her head up, and not spit food back out at 5.5 months so we started solids. We also let her have a bit of water as well as breast milk at 6 months. New recommendations are you can introduce cow's milk any time between 9-12 months rather than switch to formula. But it should be the 3.25%. Also rice cereal doesn't provide much nutrition and my doctor said to give meat purees like chicken and beef as first foods. Eggs too.
1950518 tn?1333219865 to me it worked well as i never had issues with my milk drying up as i wasnt feeding much at the end anyway... i still went through that guilt of being done but i did get over it lol and this round i am gonna try to nurse more but we will see... the main part is that the baby gets the colostrum as its packed full of goodness.... i am pro BFing but i wouldnt ever tell someone how long they have to nurse as formula these days has improved so much that baby is still gonna grow big and strong!
Avatar n tn I really stimulated my milk supply. The first 2-3 months is the hardest time. After about 3 months your breasts will produce more milk than before. The La Leche League is great!!
Avatar f tn My baby's 6 weeks old now and I just started breast feeding. I can't produce milk at all at the moment does this mean that aI should stop because it's to late to start breast feeding now? I try to pump it as much as I can and I can only get a few drops from it. I tried giving it to my baby to be he doesn't want to suck it because he's used to the bottle now what can I do.
Avatar f tn I got him to feed from me for about minute when he wasn't hungry. He's working on it and getting better a little each time :) I didn't know WIC have out breast pumps though. Has anyone ever received one from them before? I was planning on getting one in a few weeks when we had the money, I'm just scared of my milk drying up. How long does it take for it to start drying up?
