Breast milk drying up after 3 months

Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk drying up after 3 months

milk

1222635 tn?1366396286 Its only been a week, usually the minimum time (that I've heard) it taking for your milk to dry up is 2 weeks (and that is really fast). Of course you're really not supposed to touch your boobs at all or even take warm showers to help 'dry up'. Idk about you but I couldn't imagine not using it if I had it, not all women get that lucky. (Personally I'm going to donate my pumped milk, they use it for preemies and sick babies whose mothers can't produce enough milk.
888438 tn?1241046535 That way your breast dont move too much and also it wont help your breast milk form as there is no room. If it becomes too painful then go for a warm shower and let the water ease it. You will probably start dripping but once you wrap yourself up again it will stop. Another friend told me her mother told her to put .... Cabbage leaves in her bra as the coolness eased it but i couldnt put food in my bra.. didnt seem right.
Avatar n tn by now your milk should have been dried up only usually takes a couple of weeks for it to dry up after stop feeding was you on your cycle when you noticed it sometimes you have milk then too. If your in pain or breasts are hard and hurt i would contact your gyn they can give you a pill to dry up faster.
Avatar f tn With excerise after your dr oks it, you can get it firm again but it takes a while as for the breast drying up, im not sure. I breast fed. To me, the most painful part when it came to my breast was when they were filling up. My breast looked like watermelons. It hurt for anything to touch them. When my breast did dry up after breastfeeding it did not hurt at all. Trust me though, it is all worth it. Anytime I was upset about my belly I just squeezed my daughter tight.
218870 tn?1240255655 t completely dry up until almost 2 years after my son. I had him Feb 04 and finally quit getting milk 21 months later. I doubt it is a brain tumor, but it could very well be hormones, or the fact that you never dried up and are now just noticing it. Id call your OB just to be on the safe side though.
Avatar n tn I really stimulated my milk supply. The first 2-3 months is the hardest time. After about 3 months your breasts will produce more milk than before. The La Leche League is great!!
Avatar n tn n i already feel like im drying out on milk i breastfeed as much as i can .... but some night about 3 i have not breastfeed her due to my food (spicy) or gassy foods (trying to reduce coluc or gassy bby tummy) but since i feel dry i bought MOTHERS MILK TEA which is yucky awfully nasty... do any of you ladys know how to make it taste better or any other home remedies to produce more milk... pleade help im desperate....
Avatar f tn I never leaked, and after I gave birth I had a very low supply and ended up drying up. I've also heard it's a good indicator that you'll have a good supply. It's also normal to leak and many women do.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I think my milk is drying up. When I hand express I barely get a few drops. My 11 month old keeps signing milk to me when he nurses. I am 7 weeks pregnant. Is there anything I can do so it doesn't dry up? I am so crushed and sad now. My son is allergic to formula and soy.
Avatar f tn I'm not breastfeeding and just woke up yesterday completely engorged, with red lumps on my breast any one else do this? And what can I do to ease this and get my milk to dry up?
Avatar f tn but he ask me was i breast feeding thats wht i say he must have found milk..and that why i was getting an annual it checks for tumors and things...
Avatar f tn s milk tea and almonds and a lot of water I was bf on demand so I had a lot of milk supply I was kinda drying up so they told me to try all that before trying fenergreek.
Avatar f tn Okay... Don't judge me for asking this, it's a sincere question! I am completely confused about breast feeding and how it works. Someone told me you don't produce milk until 3 days after your baby is born.. so my question is what does baby eat for those 3 days until the milk comes?
Avatar f tn I breastfed my son until he was 20 months we had a very rocky start from latch issues to prematurity. After 3 months we got the hang of everything. I will be breastfeeding this one also I saw a big difference between a breastfed baby and formula. I'm not knocking formula it does the job but breast milk is proven better. Anyhow it saved us a lot of money and my little one thrived from breast milk. Also Google the healing powers of breast milk you will be amazed!it cures pink eye! And more!
Avatar f tn I had my baby boy 5 days ago n i made the decision to bottle feed but my breast came in yesterday and my breasts really hurt. Is there anything i can do to dry up my breast milk? Ive tried cabbage leaves, ice packs n tylenol to relieve pain n swelling. Any other ideas?
6995163 tn?1387869618 Usually you dont start getting milk till after you give birth everyone is different thou i started too at five months and you'd be able to tell when you start getting it depending on much you start leaking
Avatar f tn I also agree with a support system because no one around me really breastfed and I also breastfed for 14 or15 months up until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I had a lot of negativity about it and people askin when i was going to get her off the boob. I always told them when she goes off to college and they shut up real quick lol. Breastmilk on your nipples can also help and let the milk dry on.
2109562 tn?1347253848 I agree with the others, try to stay away from the formula as much as you can as this will keep baby fuller for longer and that isnt what you want while trying to increase your breast milk, as the others have said, put bub to breast often and that will help, also make sure your having 1 full glass of water at every feed, as well as fenugreek , theres also mothers milk tea, and you can make lactation cookies as well, your breasts will produce enough milk for your baby and even if you feel your dr
373683 tn?1218997212 s it is difficult to pump out milk. I made sooo much milk with all 3 of my men, but if I would pump, I barely got enough out to last him a feeding and I have a very expensive top of the line pump. It just wasn't enough. Make certain that when she takes baby in for his 1 month check up that he is gaining enough weight steadily, that way she'll know if he is getting enough nourishment. If not her Dr. may suggest a supplement like formula.
Avatar f tn Lately I have been taking off my bra and noticing that my breast look like they are peeling. I'm not sure if my breast are leaking and the milk is drying out or is it that my nipples are peeling... it looks like dried Elmers glue lol. Any ideas what this is?
Avatar f tn I been breast feeding for about a month now and love to stop breast feeding the only problem is my daughter doesn't the formula she only enjoys drinking my breast milk... How can I get her to drink the formula? And what can I do to stop the milk from coming or will it just stop coming on it's own? Ftm going crazy here any advice feedbacks comments please feel free to post and thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn I literally woke up one morning to deflated boobs and hardly any milk at all. I was pumping constantly, so your milk CAN dry up unexpectedly, your best bet is to call a lactation consultant in your area for advice!
