Avatar n tn by now your milk should have been dried up only usually takes a couple of weeks for it to dry up after stop feeding was you on your cycle when you noticed it sometimes you have milk then too. If your in pain or breasts are hard and hurt i would contact your gyn they can give you a pill to dry up faster.
1222635 tn?1366396286 Its only been a week, usually the minimum time (that I've heard) it taking for your milk to dry up is 2 weeks (and that is really fast). Of course you're really not supposed to touch your boobs at all or even take warm showers to help 'dry up'. Idk about you but I couldn't imagine not using it if I had it, not all women get that lucky. (Personally I'm going to donate my pumped milk, they use it for preemies and sick babies whose mothers can't produce enough milk.
Avatar f tn Hy I had my son 7wks ago, I started with breast feeding but could produce enough to feed him, so started mix feed pumping breast milk abouy 3wks ago, now when I can go days without pumping but I still have very little milk enough to stiil need leaking pads, anyway I saw my Dr he said it was no point in getting tablet to produce more milk, my son is doing great on formula so, I should just let it dry up, he said going back on the Pill would fix it and gave me a script for Brenda which I use to be
Avatar f tn they can give you something to help dry up your milk , I know along time ago they use to bind your breast (not recommended) home remedies include Cabbage leaves (cool) , Drink sage tea, Take vitamin B6. Avoid nipple stimulation, as this will trigger milk production. Other ideas: start wearing the tightest sports bra you can , When you shower, face away from the stream: hot water will induce milk supply.
Avatar f tn It took mine about 9mon for them to completely dry out and I had only breast feed my son for about 2-3weeks. Yeah it was pretty annoying. Now I'm 36wks with my little girl and planning on formula feeding again so I hope it doesn't take that long to dry out this time.
Avatar f tn After you let your breast milk dry up could it come back? I want to breast feed my baby for a few months but then I want to be able to have sex with my husband like I used to. He's a breast guy so could stimulation bring it back? If so what can I do to keep it from happening?

7365709 tn?1395398972 I noticed when I was shopping the other day that Earth Mama Angel Baby makes a tea to dry up your milk. I think it's called No More Milk.
Avatar f tn I literally woke up one morning to deflated boobs and hardly any milk at all. I was pumping constantly, so your milk CAN dry up unexpectedly, your best bet is to call a lactation consultant in your area for advice!
Avatar f tn I posted before i posyed my question..... my question is how do you stop or dry up your breast milk. Its been a week and i barelystarted producing milk. I really dont want to breastfeed at all. I have my reasons. And the lactation specialist agreed. She has been on formula since day one. What can i do to dry my milk???
Avatar f tn My daughter just gave birth to a stillborn child and her breasts are swelling - nothing was given to her at the hospital to dry up the milk. What do you suggest to relieve the symptoms, since excreting the milk probably would only encourage more milk reproduction? I though perhaps either cold or warm compresses - but I'm not sure. I told her to contact her doctor, but right now she is extremely depressed and does not want to talk to anyone but me (mama).
888438 tn?1241046535 Another thing to help you would be to go to a traditional Medicinal shop and buy some Sage leave tablets. they help dry you up a little faster. They help anything dry up actually! So in answer to your question it takes about a week to start to get back to normal. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I found it sooo painful after my first it put me to tears and it took around 10 days for milk to dry up..i was prepared after my 2nd baby though lol..i would strongly recommend you buy a cabbage and pop it in your freezer and after you have your baby put a leaf in your bra,it works great and ease up on the fluids for a few days..
Avatar f tn If your trying to dry them up put leaves of cabbage in your bra on your breasts. Do not run them under the hot shower.
Avatar f tn Cold cabbage leaves are good and also try not to touch your breasts as the stimulation could make you produce more milk x
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
Avatar f tn I looked online last night and read several things saying that the cabbage leaves just help with the pain of the breast being swollen.
Avatar f tn i was told that doctors no longer give the shot to dry up your milk supply after delivery. I really did not want to breast feed this pregnancy because the first time was an epic failure. What's the quickest and least painful way to naturally dry up your milk supply. I have big boobs and last time it was pure pain and misery when my supply started coming in, I ran a fever and all.
Avatar f tn It will have to dry up by itself. Good luck!
Avatar f tn It wouldn't be milk. Its colostrum first then milk when baby is born. But it could be that or your nips are dry. It's normal to leak though. Even this early.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Well, prolactemia is a common occurrence when a woman has a hormonal imbalance. Producing just a bit too much estrogen can cause this. I agree with above that it is not milk production from a pregnancy (and when you had an abortion, it was simply the shifting of your hormones and not milk production and am very surprised your doctor gave you 'pills to dry it up". That is an odd diagnosis as most women who are truly lactating begin milk production AFTER the birth).
Avatar f tn It took me almost 2 weeks for my milk to dry up. It was extremely painful the first couple of days. Definitely wear the sports bra. It helps a lot!
