Has anyone done both at the same time?? Whether it's been formula and breast feeding or formula and bottle fed breast milk?? What's your experience been? How was baby with two types? What type of formula dos you use? Tell me everything !

The way I switched my son from breast milk to formula was I began mixing my breast milk with formula. For example, 1oz formula to 4oz breast milk to start off. Then slowly went increasing the amount of formula each week.

I wanna just breast feed because supplementing wth formula causes ur breast milk supply to run low and the baby might even start rejecting the bbreast. It also could really start upseting their tummy. If u want whats best, pump pump pump.

re only giving her breast milk even if I have to pump it. At first we did both formula and breast milk (she had tongue tied so it was excruciating to feed her) and she accepted both , but with the formula she would be a little more fussier than she is now with my milk. I am planning on breast feeding I just have not decided if I am going to pump all the time and use the milk in a bottle or do both breast and bottle(with breast milk) I work at a hotel and sometimes we work 9 10 hours at a time. But I am going to make it work.

Truth is baby will be going through growth spurts and will cluster feed all the time and because breast milk is easily digestible they will seem more hungry than baby whom are on formula. You always will seem more hungry and extremely thirsty. I will suggest when baby is nursing to have healthy snacks within reach and a bottle of water so that you can produce more milk and won't feel tired.

My theory is, if breast milk is so much better for a baby than formula, then why do you need to feed a every 2 to 3 hours on breast milk and every 3 to 4 hours on formula? If you dont feel comfortable giving him the milk after alch, pump and dump. I used both formula and breast with both kids. Sometimes life happens and the formula makes it easier...the key is to relax. If you stress or get upset it will just get more difficult, and your son will start picking up on your stress as well.

It may cause you supply to decrease but any breast milk isngood! :) Have you tried pumping? If your already breastfeeding it would be much cheep er a deep your supply up..

My cousin had to have goat milk mix of some kind because her stomach could not handle formula or breast milk. She was healthy and is smart so it did not harm her. My uncle swears by it and if needed I would try it. But I plan to breastfeed.

Supplementing when you go back to work is a good option too. Still pump as much as possible and offer breast milk when you have it. Anyway my point was actually that daycare will work with you. Most of us encourage it because we know it's the best choice for your baby.

On demand is better for a little baby! Also you can totally do both formula and breast milk its called supplementing. Unless there is a specific reason you should try to breastfeed only because it will help your milk come in better and there is no risk of nipple confusion. Good luck!

Of course babies thrive on formula, but breast milk is superior (even formula makers will tell you that). I felt that if I was capable of producing breastmilk, then I had an obligation. Not everyone feels the same- that's what drove me. my second started out bf'ing (i did find it to be easier than pumping) but many issues got in the way. My mom breast and formula fed my little brother and he was a very healthy baby. And child, and now adult. He's kind of jerk though, but I don't think that had anything to do with the formula feeding. Lol.

breast feeding is always optimal but if you decide not to, then no worries, formula fed babies get all the nutrition they need and are just as healthy in most cases. And formula is very expensive but if you live.in the US you can use wic and they pay for just about all you need.

I breast fed while I smoked and my 2 year old is as healthy as it gets and im currently 19 weeks and will breastfeed my other little girl as well don't let ppl judge you either. Breastfeeding is so good for baby.
