Breast lump after implants

Common Questions and Answers about Breast lump after implants

lump

Avatar n tn Went to the breast surgeon in September for a 6 month followup. She was concerned with the lump and aspirated it. The sample was negative. I asked for an ultrasound. Although she said it may not show anything, she prescribed the test. It did not show the lump. I was told by the radiologist that if it was fat nicosis, somehow it would show up on the ultrasound. As mentioned before, it did not show up. Do I walk away and forget about this lump and retest in 6 months?
Avatar n tn The risks are very low and they feel more like real breast. I to will be getting implants after the expanders have done thier work. But I am getting gummy implants. They are fairly new to the US but have been used in Canada and abroad for years. They feel fabulous and the contents are like gummy bear material. But again if I had to choose between silicone or saline I would choose silicone every time. My PS says they are safe.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if I can have a mammo with breast implants? Also, my lump is under my arm but in the breast tissue, would an MRI show the area under my arm? One last question...I have been having shoulder and neck ache...could this have something to do with this darn lump? I have appt next week. Just seeking answers now, i know that no one can diagnose without seeing and examining me, just need info.
Avatar n tn I've had breast cancer twice now and also had saline implants. It's not unusual to have little twitches or small pains, you do have scar tissue in there. I would like to say and have said it before to Drs. that dismiss the pain with breast cancer shame on you. At age 32 they tried to dismiss my lump first because of my age and second because it was painful .... breast cancer doesn't hurt....WRONG!!!!!!! If I had listened to the Drs, I would not be here today. It was cancer.
Avatar n tn I found a breast lump (semi squishy, size of grape, movable) in my right breast about a month ago. I have implants that have been in for 17 years (half silicone half saline) and I am 40. I also breastfeed my son who is 18 mths. I went to my doctor and he said it did not feel like any cancerous mass he has felt before, but made me appt for Mammogram (1st), U/S, CA125. The lump when pushed can be moved slightly. I also have slight pain in breast and underarm.
Avatar f tn This last January (2011) just after I had completed treatment I found another lump so I had another lumpectomy from a pea sized lump that had grown below my lymph node original incision. The results - a giant cell reaction. What would cause this if I have my breast yet? A suture that never dissolved? It was a benign finding, but stil leaves me curious. Thanks so much! Avatar f tn I have saline breast implants over the muscle. They will be ten yrs old in march. over the past six months nearly every bone & joint in my body has started hurting. I'm having chest wall pain and if I don't wear a bra every second, it feels as if my left breast is actually pulling the muscles away from my rib cage. My left breast also feels bruised on top. I don't think it's changed size, and I don't feel a lump.

1091198 tn?1256874272 i saw the surgeaon and he said he wants me to have an MRI because the lesion in question is not able to be felt because I have breast implants , he said he thinks it nothing , see I had a mammogram & the tech was not able to get good pics because she couldn't maipulate my implants which have capular contrature, any way she said I should get an ultrasound , she turned in the pics she could get which I don't understand why....
Avatar n tn What type of implants do you have? Obviously a saline implant is unlikely to cause a lump as the saline works itself out through the body. This scenario would be more possible with silicone breast implants. There are some brands more associated with this as well. You should receive a full review of the lumps though which may include biopsy. https://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/ProductsandMedicalProcedures/ImplantsandProsthetics/BreastImplants/ucm064106.
Avatar n tn i have found a small lump in my breast, which i have had a scan on and it didn't show up as a cyst. i have other cysts in the same breast which show on scans but this one didnt. why would that be, slightly worried.
Avatar f tn Should a palpable lump in breast that does not show up on mammogram or ultrasound be followed up with MRI? This discussion is related to Palpable Lump But not visible on ultrasound.
Avatar n tn My doctor has ordered an ultrasound and MRI now; quite frankly, he seemed a little shocked. I have breast implants and was told two years ago that one of them had leaked. Could this be linked? Thank you for your time. This discussion is related to Lump under my arm.
475472 tn?1210034033 I am going to try and make a long story short. I'm 28 years old with four children all breastfed. I found a lump in my left breast betwen the 3 and 4 o'clock area. I had an ultrasound done that showed nothing. Doctor made referral to surgeon. The lump is painful at times and occasionally well give me a wierd sensation in the nipple. The surgeon felt both breast and said that he felt lumps in both. Not once did he make any reference to the specific lump that I was concerned about.
Avatar n tn Hi all, Recently I had decided to have breast implants from Lakeview surgery centre in Barrie. And while the mammogram screening, it was detected that I have breast cancer. I was stumbled for a moment when I got to hear this news. The moment I heard this, my mind went blank and I don't even remember whatever the doctor had said. How can I be so careless?! I had all those signs and symptoms, a cancer patient should have. I didn't even share this with my husband and kids.
Avatar f tn I am a 28 year old woman, I was on here in Late 2007 because I had found a breast lump in my left breast, it was round and large, but mushy and movable. I had an ultrasound and a biopsy and it turned out to be benign (spelling). This lump is still there, and does get tender close to my monthly cycle. But yesterday during my monthly self exam, and due to some breast tenderness I found a lump in the right breat, or rather the armpit area. This lump is very small, and very hard (like a bb).
475180 tn?1208946399 I do have noticle lumps in both breasts, lots of pain radiating from the nipple, and pain behind it, I even feel lumps directly behind the nipples that hurt so much, as well as a few away from the nipples.. I also have breast implants which now I have had for 10 years now. I have a mammagram scheduled next week. I was wondering if an ultrasound or even an mri would be able to detect something more? I am seriously thinking of having the implants removed too.
Avatar n tn I don't have any specific advise but I do have a lump that also doesn't show up on ultrasound or mammogram. I consulted two doctors and neither are too worried about it in my case. They are having me come in in three months for a recheck, probably to ease my mind since I stress about it.
Avatar f tn I am 50 and recently had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction with an expander and then saline implants. If I had it to do over again I would not do the reconstruction. I have not been comfortable in my own skin since the mastectomy 7 months ago. There has been a lot of pain involved with the expander and also with the implants interacting with my pectoralis muscles. The implants don't look or feel like breasts and they get in the way of my arms.
Avatar n tn Fat Necrosis is a lump that sometimes forms due to damage to the fatty tissue of the breast. It is a benign condition and does not increase a woman's risk for breast cancer.
Avatar n tn How bad will radiation be on my implant-would I get new implants after all is done? will the breast getting radiation look lik ethe other one? if I get cancer in the other one can you do a masectomy on the both even thouogh one has been radiated?
Avatar f tn I told my OBGYN about the lump and changes in my over health. She did a breast exam and this kind of upset me, 1. I have implants and 2. she did not even feel for the lump in my armpit. I expressed my concern and she ordered a CBC and that was it. The nurse called and said the blood test results were normal and they send me to the medical center for an ultrasound in 2 weeks. I feel as though they are unconcerned and basically blowing off my concern.
