Break pristiq in half

Common Questions and Answers about Break pristiq in half

pristiq

Avatar f tn I am doing 50mg every other day i'mg oing to do this for a few weeks then try and break them in half being that 50 is the lowest dose. I want to feel better. It is also making me think crazy things...i'm lead to believe this is the medication I was never like this. I have nightmares :*( I'm trying hard to hang in there! I know this is a long process and a struggle! I'm just not myself. My outlook on thigns have been different ever since being on this.
Avatar f tn Sure enough after I finished I looked and there floating was the Pristiq and since it had only been in my stomach 4 hours it still had same shape as there was not enough time for it to change form. So this solves the mystery, Passing Gallstones is very painful so if you have no pain it is from medication, if you have severe pain its a gallstone. Hope this answers everyones question, I know it drove me crazy for sometime...Brandy B.
12927270 tn?1427819539 If they don't, they may have you decrease the dose either to the original 5 mg or have you take one 5 mg tab and break a second one in half and try that for a week. If your side effects continue at this level or increase, you may have a hypersensitivity to Lexapro and your doctor will try you on a different medication. The first time many of us go onto an SSRI, the side effects CAN take us by surprise because most doctors don't take the time to explain all the possible side effects.
Avatar n tn So glad to know I'm not alone in this. I noticed my indentations about half a year ago and so many doctors think it is nonsense, but I knew the indentations were not there before. It scared me as well. I have learned a great deal since then. All my standard blood tests from about 5 years back to the present showed a slightly high calcium level in my blood - 10.5 and 10.7, etc. Finally, I had a doctor that recommended I get my parathyroid hormone tested.
Avatar m tn So we switched to Pristiq-Remeron and I have had severe lows and break through in the moods with the Pristiq. So he today added Abilify to the mix and I hope it is magical ! Good luck with the medication combos. It is very common to have to combine a few to get the results you are looking for.
Avatar f tn What we did was open the capsule and take less and less each day until we only took a few beads and then we were off. If it is a pill break it in half and take that a few days, then a quarter and so on. Of course, I am NOT a dr...
Avatar m tn All medications have a specific half life. This is the amount of time it takes for the dose you took to break down in your body and no longer effect your brain or whatever it was targeting. Some meds have a really short half life - meaning if you miss even one dose, you'll have bad withdrawal symptoms. A good example of this is some powerful illicit drugs. Others have longer longer half lives and thus it takes longer for your body to "flush" them out so to speak.
Avatar f tn Many Drs recommend that you give a new med around 6 weeks to see if it helps. Has you anxiety decreased any at all since you started this med? This med usually is prescribed to go along with another antidepressant. To give it a boost. Can you say what other meds you've been on other than Zoloft? There are several to try other than Pristiq. At 2 weeks you should be feeling at least a little relief. But, we're all so different and respond to these meds differently.

Avatar f tn I been tapering like this for about a week and half now. I'm going to see if maybe I can break them in halves.
Avatar m tn Still have my doubts about going back, but just dont see another option right now, will prob sign in as 3 on 3off to start an see how it goes, I think thaat would be the best for now. Really just want to get out of here b4 Christmas. Figure if I loose it that will be when knowing my luck. I still feel pretty good w/o the meds I think? nobody has made any comments about me acting manic or anything so I guess thats good.
1129774 tn?1279835362 The next thing I did was to evaluate my eating habits and get rid of any and all processed sugar in my diet! BIG improvement in all areas you mentioned. Next, I started on a very intensive vitamin routine and slowly I've been able to add exercise or physical activity back into my life. None of these suggestions are an overnight quick fix, but through steady changes in all areas, I've noticed marked improvement in as little as 3-4 weeks.!
603543 tn?1255298050 Ive been feeling sick everyday for the last 2 years, i just cant take it anymore....the dr put me on pristiq 50mg, ive been on it for 4 weeks, and no relief what so ever...I know it will take time to feel better, but just maybe not feeling so tired or not having a headache everyday would give me some encouragement....
Avatar m tn Here's what I got out of it, whether you are taping from Xanax (alprazolam) or Klonopin (Clonazepam), she uses Valium (diazepam) to taper and switch over as it has a shorter half life. Though in detox centers like Passages of Malibu (which is like 120k), they use Ativan (lorazepam) to taper from both though they are going at a much faster pace, and apparently Ativan has the shortest half life of them all (according to them). I'm not sure anyone really knows.
724811 tn?1291434386 I took the few pills I had left and split them in half (actually into quarters and take two quarters each day; one in the am and one in the pm.) One last thing, if Van Gogh was on Prozac, do you think his work would have turned out the way it did? How many artists (music, literature, fine art, etc) produced great work as a result of depression? Would I rather be a depressed artist or a numb non artist?
1590266 tn?1297048822 Well, I was feeling okay again until last October, I discovered I was pregnant. I stopped taking my Pristiq and Lamictal in mid November last year at the suggestion of my doctor. I was fine for a month maybe, then at the end of December I began to notice that I was ridiculously anxious every day for no reason. I was filled with a sense of dread that I couldn't put my finger on all day every day. I became extremely depressed. And then the weirdness began again in mid January.
Avatar f tn I went happily to my psychiatrist thinking my Cymbalta (60mg) might be pooping out. I certainly wasn't having any major issues with anxiety or depression ON Cymbalta (loved it- been on 5 1/2 yrs for a depression episode in 2008). Worked great.

Avatar m tn Long hours of stressful positions normally also in long term give you this nerve tingling. You should give a break in between stressful jobs and also most of the problems are due to stress on the back and this causes irritation of the nerve root and that area of spine from where the spinal nerve supplies the arm etc. You should go to a Chiropractor and also to a Neurologist when the symptoms occur. Take care!
Avatar f tn my niece lives with me she is bi polar depressive and has benn on meds for years the last meds are not working, should i get back on meds so we can get along better. her sis said i should get on PRISTIQ dont know anything about it, she is in the hosp. she was crashing. they two people cantlive together that have depression. we only have each other. what should i do. i love her.
Avatar n tn An ordinary alka seltzer will help relieve gas and associated pain. Also, Acidophilus milk is nourishing, the probiotics in it will help break down waste, and it's also soothing to the tummy. If she absolutely cannot sleep, Tylenol PMs on a temporary basis will almost always knock a person out, which good rest is half the battle. Hope all this helps a little.
Avatar f tn Maybe you need some sort of therapy...I am taking 2 anti-depressants (Pristiq and Wellbutrin) and I am in therapy. Together, medicine and therapy can be a really successful treatment. Your only 15 and you are too young to feel like this, especially when you have your whole life ahead of you. (I realize Im only 17 and may be a little hypocritical)...but do soemthing about it as soon as possible. I waited until I was 17 to seek help and Ive been depressed since I was 12.
1448936 tn?1363209946 Tonight I was severely nauseated and took half of a .5 xanax and my nausea subsided and I was able to have some chicken and a kitkat. Well now I think the xanax is wearing off and my stomach pains are coming back. Can anxiety cause me constant stomach problems? If it does what can I do to control this? I'm terrified of eating because once I do I feel sick for hours and sometimes for the rest of the day. I do not know what to do.

Avatar f tn now I just want the monkey gone. This strong, stoic person everyone is in awe of, is in fact popping pills to be that way. I guess I have to give myself credit that I never took more than I did, but with me, just a half a perc can give me so mch anxiety that all I ever did was try to keep the wd away. I have not had a drink since I started taking these things, I do take pristiq and 1mg of ativan once a day...when I need it but don't much like it for making me tired.
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Friends, Please come on in and make yourself at home. Get ready, cause it's quite a ride. You can do it!
Avatar n tn About a year and a half ago my anxiety got to be at it's worse so I started on a new medication (pristiq) which had worked well up until recently. About a month ago I noticed my symptoms getting bad again, fears of me or my loved ones dying have once again taken over my brain. It's all I can seem to think about. I don't want to go anywhere because I'm afraid I will die, allso I don't want my family to go anywhere because I just KNOW in my mind that something bad will happen to them.
Avatar m tn I end up selling my car and then my gf and I get into a fight break up and don't talk for a whole week, keep in mind we've been an on and off couple so I figured a apology would fix it and we would be back together. Wrong, this time she wants nothing to do with me and after a month of little talking and me driving myself into a deep depression here I am again. My first attack after being off my meds this time was about 3 months ago, so about 4 months after being off the meds.
